    • @meeliving1345
      @meeliving1345  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can wrap the night before and put it in the refrigerator and steam the next day. For a future event, you ca wrap it and freeze it. On the day of event, bring a pot of water to boil, take the rice cakes frozen from the freezer and put it in the steamer and steam. Do not thaw. It has to be steamed frozen to retain its freshness.

      Hi Joe, this recipe batch makes 1 big foil tray up to the rim of the tray. I used frozen pandan leaves. Wash leaves well and cut into 1/2 inch and put it in the blender. Add water to the blender and blend it for a few minutes. Then filter for the juice.

    If you can speak English, do so. I was gonna say why do you have English titles when you do Hmong speaking? I practically grew up in America and my English is not as good as yours in terms of accent..Lol. My English is good. My accent is makes me laugh when I hear it on recording. I never thought I have an accent until I listen to my recording. I find that to be very funny. Your English is awesome for someone your age.
    Just wanna say the video is great. Your English is great and explained well. I wanna also say this is the Asian tamales. And I wanted to learn the meat verson like this so I can modify it. My mother always do it without the meat and I hate them.

    • @meeliving1345
      @meeliving1345  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Wolverine, thanks for your suggestion. My previous videos I spoke both Hmong and English but have decided to just going to speak English going forward. I use English titles for all of videos because writing in Hmong for the titles would be more lengthy than writing in English. Yes, I will plan to do this cakes with meat in the future. Thanks for watching.

    • @meeliving1345
      @meeliving1345  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Mao, you can make this a few weeks ahead of time to prepare for a big event. Just make the cakes as I showed on the video here. Let it cool completely after you steam the cakes, then put the cool cakes in the freezer bags to freeze. On the morning of your event, bring the water in the pot to boil, and take the frozen cakes right from the freezer and lay it on the steamer and steam for 30 minutes. Let it cool and plate on the platter to serve as appetizers. It will taste just as delicious as from freshly make.
