How to set up Game Sharing on Xbox One

- A short walk through on how to set up the game sharing feature with the Xbox One
If you have questions you need to make sure I can reply to your comment to help you.
1. This only works between your console and one other console.
2. If you want to stop game sharing set your own console as home and change your password. If you can't do this call MS support and they can remove the other console as your home console.
3. This can work with anyone, not just people in the same house.
4. If someone is scamming tag me in a comment below with the person's name on here so I can block them.
5. I am not responsible for you getting scammed by someone else, if it happens the best thing to do is to contact MS support and let them know someone scammed you for your account.
6. This should take the person 15 seconds total, if it takes longer they're probably doing something wrong or are trying to change your account settings.
7. I check messages at least once a month, if you have a question I will get to it eventually. - เกม

Does the family sharing thing let u share xboxlive member ship so I only have to buy one like the games?plz answer ASAP

This is a pretty cool feature - my brother and I use it even though we live 5 hours apart.
I've also heard a lot of people who have bought used Xbox's finding that they will randomly have a game start downloading from the past owner who didn't properly reset their Home Xbox haha.
Do they have to be on the same network in the house or can my buddy sign in under my credentials at his place and I do the same (Vise versa) at my house? After this is done we can play online at the same time with only one copy of the game being bought?

what if you both want to play the game but once you download the game it say you must go purchase the game when my buddy bought online. and we did the transfer i was playing until he went and signed in on his xbox and it kicked me off right away
If you have already made your home Xbox on your main account .... can you still get games from other friends accounts? Like when you want to get gold or games from friends accounts do you have to switch back to not home Xbox and then switch to make it home Xbox again? Or do you just leave it as home Xbox and can you still get games from other friends? Please answer someone
This doesnt work if every game I have is a disc right? It definitely has to be a digital download on your xbox to work?

When u do it then one of there other friends do it as long as it's just that one other friend will it still work
So when you have downloaded the games you want from the persons account, can you delete the account from your own Xbox or do you have to keep the account you've downloaded the games from on your own Xbox ??

+Daenerys Targaryen Sorry for the extremely late reply, haven't been on to look at these lately. You only need to do it the first time, once you've done that so long as it stays your home console you'll always have access to every game they purchase digitally.

After you're done with the other users gamer tag and you sign back into yours, do you need to change it back to your home console or just leave it?
+Bradley Duvall It depends... if you're planning to long term share then you should leave it, if not then you can just change it back as your home console.
i have done all the right stuff with a friend of mine to get fifa 16 and it doesnt let me launch the game, instead it says sign in with the person who purchased the game but even then still doesnt launch?

You can switch back to your own account before you even start downloading anything, they'll show up in the ready to install as soon as the console registers the new account as home.

My friend is game sharing with another one of his friends at the moment. He is trying to switch so we can gameshare. I go to press "make this my home Xbox" and a message box pops up, not allowing me to do it. Does he have to remove the home Xbox designation from his friend before moving his account over or should we be able to just switch it no problem?
He may already be out of his 3 for the year. If this is the case he can just call/chat Xbox support and just make up an excuse like someone else managed to get access to your account and you need to switch it to a new home console, they should reset the limit.

Question: I have 2 accounts on my xbox (1 primary, 1 secondary). My secondary doesn't have Xbox Gold. If I pre order a game on my secondary account, will I get a free copy of the game to play on my primary ( as long as I have enough storage)?

If I download a game from my friend and he leaves to set his home xbox on his actual xbox. Will the games I download still be able to be played by me without needing to have his profile's home xbox as mine?
If you make your Xbox the home Xbox does that mean the person you're sharing with's Xbox not be their home Xbox? And they can't play you're games offline?
my friend gave me his account but I can't make it my home xbox as it says only 3 uses per year is there some way you can get around the three uses?

just curious how this would work? if I set up my gamertag on my brother's Xbox, will setting his Xbox as my home Xbox, affect my own Xbox system? also if I install say Halo 5 on his system can I still play it, even though there is only 1 physical copy of the game? I was under the impression that the game disk needed to be in the system in order to play any physical disk based game.
+mikeO31082 1. No, it won't affect your system in any way.
2. You can share games off the disc too but they cannot play it unless they have the disc, so that's pretty much pointless to even try. Only works with digital games.
Could it work with games such as madden far cry and fallout?
Ok so my friend ran out of xbox live but since my account is on his xbox, he is still able to play live. He also has his account on my xbox and is set to my home xbox. if he downloads a game without having live, will i still get the game that he downloaded, because he downloaded overwatch but i cant download it for some reason. it doesnt pop up under my ready to install list. any ideas???
