Here's a huge thing that a lot of people seem to miss. After you finish adding the ports, you're suppose to turn off your xbox and your router for 3 minutes. After that, you turn on your router, wait until it fully turns on and connect and everything, then turn on the Xbox One and enjoy your game.
People with moderate or strict NAT. There may be an easier way for you to make your nat open. Follow my steps! (Try make a video on this EG, No idea why xbox hasn't covered this yet) 1.Go to your network under settings on xbox one. 2. Test multiplayer connection under troubleshooting. 3.when its done hold down RB + LB + RT + LT and then it should come up with detailed NAT statistics somewhere on the screen. 4. It will say getting info... wait till it displays the text and it will either say that your Network is under a cone NAT or Your network is behind a port-restricted NAT or maybe it will say Your network is behind a port-preserving port-symmetric NAT. 5. If it says you're under a cone NAT then your nat type is now open. 6. If no then refer to step 1 and do the process again. (Dont ask me how this works it just does)

Couldn't play the destiny beta on my xbox 1 and other games like CoD Ghosts because I had 100% packet loss and kept getting the "MarionBerry" error when trying to log into Destiny. avp3player1 If the DC issues happened recently and not from the first time you played the game then no , it is probably a server issue from their side. if it was caused as soon as you played this game and it kept going on then chances are , yes your Router is not forwarding those ports probably and you get DCs as a result.

omfgggggg went through all the trouble of being on eternal hold with Xfinity when all I had to do was watch this. worked good all I had to do was open the ports was a little different from a net gear router but worked thanks great video 👍
I would add that my NAT type didn't change until after I did a soft rest of my modem/router. Other than that, thanks for the help. My NAT type was moderate, and a friend's was strict. Now that I'm open we can play together, even though he's still strict (and probably staying that way). Thanks for the assist.
Keep in mind, if you do not set up a static IP address for your xbox and you are using a DHCP server to assign internal IP addresses to devices that connect to your router, which most routers do by default, then you run the risk of the DHCP server assigning the device a different IP address. If this happens, then the port forwarding will have been in vain. You must either set a DHCP reservation for the xbox one's mac address to ensure that it always receives the same ip address when it connects, setup a static IP for your xbox one (this may require you to reconfigure your router), or assign a static IP address to your xbox that is outside of the range of IP addresses that your DHCP server is set to assign.
Wow thanks! This video actually helped! I kept checking the multiplayer connection and it would always say cant obtain ip address and I would have a hard time connecting to friends. I ran the test again, worked perfectly.
This might help someone so I'll post it if you're like me and your computer just broke or maybe you just don't have one you can open the ports with your smart phone I used my iPhone to open all of the ports and it worked great!! Now I. Can finally enjoy my Xbox
Hey just solved my strict NAT problem by turning off "fastrack QOS" on my router (a western digital mynet n900). I've been on this most of the weekend and watched loads of youtube and read hundreds of forums suggesting port forwarding . All I had to do was as I mention above - turning off "fastrack QOS" on my router

Hello, my router has three options to type in the port ranges in. 1) single port fowarding 2) port range forwarding 3)port range triggering. All of which i can do the same thing EXCEPT in the third option (port range triggering, it doesnt give me the option to select UDP or TCP or BOTH. help.. got a fritz!box 7360, Tried DMZ & UPnP, and I opened as much ports(up to 15) with static IP as I could momentarily find on the net and still my nat is closed ... Also tried everytime RB + LB + RT + LT combination after testing multiplayer connection. Everytime it says something about my firewall on the modem/router, but there's nothing to switch off in the settings from my modem and I Port Forwarded it so that shouldn't be a problem right? Why is this NAT thing so complicated to get it fixed, is it even possible to get it fixed(my modem/router sucks too much?) (also did the whole restart router/console thing after applying settings ofc. p.s. the ports were; 53(both),80(TCP), 88(UPD), 500(UDP) 3074(both), 3075(both), 3076(both), 3544(UDP), 4500(UDP) and 16000(both)

the ip is on automatic and does not solve the problem. When I put the cable in the modem works fine, but if I turn the handle on the router, the console does not recognize the cable. Help!
The last port (4500) is it best if it applied? I know you have the plug and play connected and when i entered the 4500 port it passed. Just want to make sure that nothing bad will happen (first time porting something)

I tried the port settings suggested here for XBox One and they still wouldn't give me a open NAT, but setting the ports up this way did: TCP PORTS: 53, 81, 3074 UDP PORTS: 53, 88, 3074, 3544, 4500 I had to use Port 81 instead of the suggested Port 80 because my Motorola 3360 DSL modem used Port 80 and that setting was unchangeable, but these settings did give me the open NAT I was looking for.

Go to your router settings and select firewall options tjere should be some options like low, medium .. But im having now 100% Packet loss :D Xbox is having some problems.. Because of hackers
When I port forward, all ports work excepts port 53, when apply port 53 my internet stops working, and when i remove it the internet works again. I do not understand this problem, is there someone that can help?.
Is port forwarding only to change your nat to open? Mine is open and I still get horrible lag while playing bo3. Doesn't it improve your connection as well as change the nat?
EGMediaCenter Well, I guess I wasted 45 min doing that (my dad's laptop is the only computer that can access the router and the keyboard is messed up. He has an onscreen keyboard.) I connected the xbox to the router using a wire and my connection is normal.
Port 53 (UDP/TCP) and Port 80 (TCP) will not open because it says that "Port conflicts with another rule." I guess it means that some other device has that same port.
To anyone whom it may concern, my advice is just plug your console directly to your router, if your router is far away from your console you can use a powerline adapter to get a closer connection to your console without the need of wiring your home. They will most definitely work, unlike all of these click hungry videos, which in fact don't work and are a waste of your time, your better off using that time to save money in anyway you can to save up for a powerline adapter. (Which some of the best ones out there are hella expensive. 💵)
Hey EG, on my Att Uverse port forwarding page i don't have an option to click TCP/UDP at the same time, just one or the other. It says If the desired application requires multiple ports of both TCP and UDP ports, you will need to add multiple definitions. Does this mean that since i need to forward both port 3074 and port 53 to both TCP and UPD that i would have to do 2 separate forwards for each? Like i'd have to to 3074 UDP and then go back and do 3074 TCP as well?

I didn't have any change until after I did a soft reset of my modem when the new settings were saved. A soft reset is just unplugging the modem/router for a couple of minutes and then plugging it back in. Once I did that my NAT type was open. Good luck.

Doesnt do anything for Titanfall. Game still lags and registers 67 ms ping than my normal 47 ms ping.

When I port forward, all ports work excepts port 53, when apply port 53 my internet stops working, and when i remove it the internet works again. I do not understand this problem, is there someone that can help?.

Is port forwarding only to change your nat to open? Mine is open and I still get horrible lag while playing bo3. Doesn't it improve your connection as well as change the nat?

Port 53 (UDP/TCP) and Port 80 (TCP) will not open because it says that "Port conflicts with another rule." I guess it means that some other device has that same port.
To anyone whom it may concern, my advice is just plug your console directly to your router, if your router is far away from your console you can use a powerline adapter to get a closer connection to your console without the need of wiring your home. They will most definitely work, unlike all of these click hungry videos, which in fact don't work and are a waste of your time, your better off using that time to save money in anyway you can to save up for a powerline adapter. (Which some of the best ones out there are hella expensive. 💵)

Hey EG, on my Att Uverse port forwarding page i don't have an option to click TCP/UDP at the same time, just one or the other. It says If the desired application requires multiple ports of both TCP and UDP ports, you will need to add multiple definitions.
Does this mean that since i need to forward both port 3074 and port 53 to both TCP and UPD that i would have to do 2 separate forwards for each? Like i'd have to to
3074 UDP
and then go back and do
3074 TCP
as well?

I didn't have any change until after I did a soft reset of my modem when the new settings were saved. A soft reset is just unplugging the modem/router for a couple of minutes and then plugging it back in. Once I did that my NAT type was open. Good luck.
