i like that you mentioned that the palestinians dident get a say in the things from the start since they were jsut annexed by jordan and egypt who were anti Israel from the begining
I think this is a HUGE misconception. Palestine was never independent. Neighbouring Arabs have done as much to dispossess Palestinians and don't genuinely want them to have their own state either. If Jordan wanted to, they could have easily granted Palestinian refugees citizenship and Jordan could effectively be Palestine.
@Jinny Barebuckle One has nothing to do with the other. The way Europe treated the Jews doesn’t excuse how the Jews were treated as second class citizens in the Arab lands. Europe has reformed many of its institutions while sadly, the Arab world has basically ethnically cleansed all Jews from Arab countries and the other remaining minorities are treated very poorly to say the least.
The settlements belonged to the Turkish Ottoman Empire for five hundred years until 1918. After WW1 the British took it over. It never belonged to the Palestinians. It is the ancestral land of the Jews.
One small correction. When Ben Gurion declared the state in 1948, he was very careful to not specify it's borders, recognizing that a war was about to break out. The outcome of the war would determine the borders. Your video said that Ben Gurion declared the state on the basis of the borders of the UN Partition plan which is incorrect. He did make reference to the UN Vote but in the context of the right to declare a state.
For all understanding ben gurion knew if the un would allow a jewish state the arab states would go to war the un partition plan only had a chance if the arabs would agree basicly the arabs didnt agree to the un so much for isreal not listening to the un
Ben Gurion was right. Hope Israel has learned from the Yom Kippur war. Complacency is the enemy of efficiency. Never put your guard down because it will be “never again”.
Clearly Ben-Gurion always intended to annex all of "Palestine" (aka "Eretz Israel" aka "Israel, the West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights"). In 1937 he said "A partial Jewish state is not an end but a beginning, The establishment of a state, even a small one, will serve as powerful leverage in our historic efforts to redeem the land in its entirety ... We will organize a sophisticated defense force, an elite army - I have no doubt our army will be one of the best in the world - and then I am sure nothing will prevent us from settling the whole land..." Israel has been using force to expand its borders since May 15th 1948.

Actually, Israel is not much wider with Judea and Samaria in its possession, especially up north. Between the Mediterranean Sea at Netanya and the Jordan River, Israel is only 40 miles wide as a bird flies. Now that is better than the previous 9 miles wide, and the Samarian Mountains and the 3000 foot drop from the Samarian Ridge to the Jordan River at about 600 feet below Sea level in the Jordan Valley provide the defensive depth.

You seem like a reasonable and rational person, either that or a highly attuned PR expert. I appreciate this is a particularly unique perspective, but the current occupation has been called unlawful by the UN. The opposition to the policies of the Israelis government by groups Jewish people all over the world is also a pretty incriminating testament, not just based on ultra-orthodox views, but on humanitarian views. Israel can survive and prosper as part of a two state solution, with buffers of shared non secular borders in religious sites. The suggestion of anyone having a birth right to lands that are not in their possesion is nothing short of imperialism. The use of chemical weapons such as white phosphorus on the citizens of Gaza is damning, and an argument that surrounding countries who are enemies of the Israeli state having chemical weapons capabilities is not a sufficient argument, given the fact that no one has used chemical weapons against Israel, and there are multiple cases of Israel using such weapons. The occupation of Palestinian lands is exemplified by the hatred that it requires in order to use white phosphorus on civilians. Forward to a peaceful two state solution that recognises the ethnic, religious, and cultural significances of both states, where militaristic interests are not at the helm.
Well take into consideration that Jordan comprises 80% of Mandate Palestine and 80% of its population calls themselves "Palestinians" the only logical, historically sound and just thing to do is to recognize the Jordan River as the border between Israel and Palestine (Jordan). There you have it, "the two state solution."
I think it's interesting that you don't mention the proposal, that was made by all of the Arab and Muslim state members of the UN in 1947, for a democratic state that would protect rights of all citizens equally. This was just one example of an offer for peace that was turned down by Israelis.
They didn't mention it because it's zionist propaganda. Their opener to the video is along the lines that Jews wanted to return to "their land". This channel is a joke. Probably funded by Israel and American tax dollars.

Indeed, Art. 2 (4) is not reffering to the specific nature of the war: aggressive or defensive. @John Sm Almost every nation has commited itself to a two state solution (israel+palestine) there was the UN partition plan for this already in 1948 and the state of israel was to be founded from a part of the mandate of palestine (all other mandates became states afterwards), the population of palestine declared itself a state (decades ago) and no nation (including israel) is claiming all of its land (just all the parts without communities). If you’re trying to build up international support or acceptance of these illegal (per international law) settlements, then at least keep it factual. The 1967 war was NOT a defensive war, it was a war that began when the IDF took out Egypt’s and Syria’s Air Force. The rest of your arguments aren’t bad, but be honest. We can never get to peace or even security if we lie to one another.
But it is a defensive war as operation focus (which is what the air strike against the Egyptian, Jordan, and Syrian air forces was called) was a response to the acts of war committed against them. This was explained in the video. For example, Egypt remilitarized the Sinai and closed off the Tiran straight (an act of war) also in Syria, the government diverted the water flow of the rivers which supplied water to the Kineret to their own reserves (the source of 40% of Israel’s water) [also an act of war]. So feel free to debate me on this, but by definition this seems like a defensive war, no?

The Mandate had only one mission, that was to recreate the Jewish homeland in the Area of Palestine. This was voted on unanimously by All world leaders in 1922.
The only real long-term solution for Israel and Palestine is for the Palestinians to have their own state in Gaza and to expand Gaza, both on the Egyptian side and Israeli side and for Israel to grant citizenship to all Arabs living in the West Bank/Judea-Samaria. The problem with giving non-Israeli Arabs in the West Bank citizenship is that many if not most of them are very anti-Israel, so it would be suicidal to do that. I think giving them a state with a portion of the West Bank connected to Jordan is really the only viable solution.
3 states: Israel, Gaza, Palestine (west bank with land swaps). Settlers whose land isn’t absorbed into Israel can continue to live as a minority in West Bank. Peace deal will require full recognition and citizenship of settlers in new Palestinian state along with continued security cooperation with both Israel and palestianian authorities. Gaza can remain the status quo and hopefully gets absorbed by Egypt. Jerusalem is a unified city and a dual capital of both Israel and West Bank. Alternative is 2 states: Gaza and Israel, but with demographic shifts eventually Israel could have a minority Jewish population. Last alternative is status quo, which depending on if you count Gazans teeters on apartheid.

Absorbed all Palestinians living in Israel, give them the same rights and privileges as Israelis do so that there will be one State of Israel for all living there, with one strong Constitution and By-laws to be followed by every citizen. The UN was wronged when it partitioned Israel into two states: one for Israelis and one for Palestinians. Since Gaza residents are all Gazans, Let them have their own country as State of Gaza. Let there be peace in Israel.
NO, there are 22 Arab Muslim states, many made by the League of Nations at the same time as Israel was started. There is just one Jewish state. When the Byzantines attacked Jews or the Inquisition, there was nowhere safe to go. When rhe Arab Muslim states treated the Jews with Distain and forced them from the lands they lived in for millenia, they needed somewhere to go. Israel is the only Jewish state. In the beginning, the Jews appealed to the Arabs to stsy in their houses and to help them create a country together, the Arabs from 5 countries plus the Arab irregulars attacked the one day old country of Israel. They chose to leave, they chose to attack, not just one time but with 5 wars and 2 intafadas. The Jews won the wars, the Arabs have continually fought against them. They want to annihilate Israel and the Jews. Read the Hamas Charter, you will see, more is written on the hate and propaganda for Jews and to destroy Israel, than on how to develop or create an Arab country.

It basically goes like this. First their is the occupation in 1967, than Israel declares that they occupy the west bank and gaza for the sake of protecting Israel because those areas are posing danger, the Palestinians begin to fight the two decades of oppression at the early eighties, which prompted the revival of all these militant groups aka hamas. Than israel decides to build settlement in the same region that they claim to be unsafe, and they segregated them completely from Arab towns and villages, than the Palestinians fought back with suicidal attacks etc, which prompted Israel to build a wall completely segregating Palestinians and towns from one another. After building all these settlements, now israel is focused on Driving Palestinians out of their lands and homes, specifically in Jerusalem, aka yakub the thief. While doing all this, militant groups like hamas are getting stronger every couple of years, with rockets now that can target every town in Israel. How did this war start? Just ask yakub the settler he’ll tell you all about it. He basically told the Palestinian struggle, so thank you yakub.

They are not illegal in any way!! Stop believing nonsense. Research things yourself.

It started in '48 because that is when Israel declared itself an independent, sovereign state. Palestinians laid no claim to the land when it was under Jordanian or Egyptian control, and even in the original 1964 PLO charter, they lay no claim to it. It's only when they lost the territories in a war they started that they claim them

Because they were called Philistines before - they descendants of the loser giant Goliath. Shalom Aleichem shalom

Because Muslim believe the last fake prophet that was pedo guy and a bloody killer.
Judea-Samaria Is Israeli land going back to thousands of years, including Gaza, the West Bank, Golan, East Jerusalem, and above all, the Temple Mount.
No judea and samaria is a small dot on the map in the West Bank. It does not include Gaza or Jerusalem or all of West Bank. Nice try lying. Israle took all the other land in the war.
Well that ignores the promise that the British made through TE Lawrence to the Arabs of the creation of an Arab state
The British had no right to give promises. It was not their land. They were only Administrators of the Land for the League of Nations, who issued the Mandate. The Mandate had only one mission, that was to recreate the Jewish homeland in the Area of Palestine. This was voted on unanimously by All world leaders in 1922.
The claim that an imaginary god has promised you this land is laughable
The only real long-term solution for Israel and Palestine is for the Palestinians to have their own state in Gaza and to expand Gaza, both on the Egyptian side and Israeli side and for Israel to grant citizenship to all Arabs living in the West Bank/Judea-Samaria. If Arabs want to leave the West Bank, they should be given a grant, or stipend to afford to move to Gaza, Jordan or Egypt. Israel will NEVER give up Judea-Samaria and they never should as it's part of Israel, regardless of what the U.N. people say.
So we should just ignore international law, and believe some fairytales in the Bible or Quran ???
How a Jewish state is any different from Isis state, both are based on silly religions
The video could have been 10 seconds long. These settlements are illegal under Israeli and international law. Stop trying to justify them. You can’t move populations into occupied territory. This isn’t hard to understand.
My favourite part about Israel is that to this day: Its only fanbase - itself.
