One small correction. When Ben Gurion declared the state in 1948, he was very careful to not specify it's borders, recognizing that a war was about to break out. The outcome of the war would determine the borders. Your video said that Ben Gurion declared the state on the basis of the borders of the UN Partition plan which is incorrect. He did make reference to the UN Vote but in the context of the right to declare a state.

I think this is a HUGE misconception. Palestine was never independent. Neighbouring Arabs have done as much to dispossess Palestinians and don't genuinely want them to have their own state either. If Jordan wanted to, they could have easily granted Palestinian refugees citizenship and Jordan could effectively be Palestine.

Actually, Israel is not much wider with Judea and Samaria in its possession, especially up north. Between the Mediterranean Sea at Netanya and the Jordan River, Israel is only 40 miles wide as a bird flies. Now that is better than the previous 9 miles wide, and the Samarian Mountains and the 3000 foot drop from the Samarian Ridge to the Jordan River at about 600 feet below Sea level in the Jordan Valley provide the defensive depth.

If you’re trying to build up international support or acceptance of these illegal (per international law) settlements, then at least keep it factual. The 1967 war was NOT a defensive war, it was a war that began when the IDF took out Egypt’s and Syria’s Air Force. The rest of your arguments aren’t bad, but be honest. We can never get to peace or even security if we lie to one another.
But it is a defensive war as operation focus (which is what the air strike against the Egyptian, Jordan, and Syrian air forces was called) was a response to the acts of war committed against them. This was explained in the video. For example, Egypt remilitarized the Sinai and closed off the Tiran straight (an act of war) also in Syria, the government diverted the water flow of the rivers which supplied water to the Kineret to their own reserves (the source of 40% of Israel’s water) [also an act of war]. So feel free to debate me on this, but by definition this seems like a defensive war, no?

It started in '48 because that is when Israel declared itself an independent, sovereign state. Palestinians laid no claim to the land when it was under Jordanian or Egyptian control, and even in the original 1964 PLO charter, they lay no claim to it. It's only when they lost the territories in a war they started that they claim them

The only real long-term solution for Israel and Palestine is for the Palestinians to have their own state in Gaza and to expand Gaza, both on the Egyptian side and Israeli side and for Israel to grant citizenship to all Arabs living in the West Bank/Judea-Samaria. The problem with giving non-Israeli Arabs in the West Bank citizenship is that many if not most of them are very anti-Israel, so it would be suicidal to do that. I think giving them a state with a portion of the West Bank connected to Jordan is really the only viable solution.
3 states: Israel, Gaza, Palestine (west bank with land swaps). Settlers whose land isn’t absorbed into Israel can continue to live as a minority in West Bank. Peace deal will require full recognition and citizenship of settlers in new Palestinian state along with continued security cooperation with both Israel and palestianian authorities. Gaza can remain the status quo and hopefully gets absorbed by Egypt. Jerusalem is a unified city and a dual capital of both Israel and West Bank. Alternative is 2 states: Gaza and Israel, but with demographic shifts eventually Israel could have a minority Jewish population. Last alternative is status quo, which depending on if you count Gazans teeters on apartheid.

One small correction. When Ben Gurion declared the state in 1948, he was very careful to not specify it's borders, recognizing that a war was about to break out. The outcome of the war would determine the borders. Your video said that Ben Gurion declared the state on the basis of the borders of the UN Partition plan which is incorrect. He did make reference to the UN Vote but in the context of the right to declare a state.

I think this is a HUGE misconception. Palestine was never independent. Neighbouring Arabs have done as much to dispossess Palestinians and don't genuinely want them to have their own state either. If Jordan wanted to, they could have easily granted Palestinian refugees citizenship and Jordan could effectively be Palestine.

Actually, Israel is not much wider with Judea and Samaria in its possession, especially up north. Between the Mediterranean Sea at Netanya and the Jordan River, Israel is only 40 miles wide as a bird flies.
Now that is better than the previous 9 miles wide, and the Samarian Mountains and the 3000 foot drop from the Samarian Ridge to the Jordan River at about 600 feet below Sea level in the Jordan Valley provide the defensive depth.

The opposition to the policies of the Israelis government by groups Jewish people all over the world is also a pretty incriminating testament, not just based on ultra-orthodox views, but on humanitarian views. Israel can survive and prosper as part of a two state solution, with buffers of shared non secular borders in religious sites. The suggestion of anyone having a birth right to lands that are not in their possesion is nothing short of imperialism. The use of chemical weapons such as white phosphorus on the citizens of Gaza is damning, and an argument that surrounding countries who are enemies of the Israeli state having chemical weapons capabilities is not a sufficient argument, given the fact that no one has used chemical weapons against Israel, and there are multiple cases of Israel using such weapons. The occupation of Palestinian lands is exemplified by the hatred that it requires in order to use white phosphorus on civilians. Forward to a peaceful two state solution that recognises the ethnic, religious, and cultural significances of both states, where militaristic interests are not at the helm.
Well take into consideration that Jordan comprises 80% of Mandate Palestine and 80% of its population calls themselves "Palestinians" the only logical, historically sound and just thing to do is to recognize the Jordan River as the border between Israel and Palestine (Jordan). There you have it, "the two state solution."

If you’re trying to build up international support or acceptance of these illegal (per international law) settlements, then at least keep it factual. The 1967 war was NOT a defensive war, it was a war that began when the IDF took out Egypt’s and Syria’s Air Force.
The rest of your arguments aren’t bad, but be honest. We can never get to peace or even security if we lie to one another.
But it is a defensive war as operation focus (which is what the air strike against the Egyptian, Jordan, and Syrian air forces was called) was a response to the acts of war committed against them. This was explained in the video. For example, Egypt remilitarized the Sinai and closed off the Tiran straight (an act of war) also in Syria, the government diverted the water flow of the rivers which supplied water to the Kineret to their own reserves (the source of 40% of Israel’s water) [also an act of war]. So feel free to debate me on this, but by definition this seems like a defensive war, no?

Palestinians laid no claim to the land when it was under Jordanian or Egyptian control, and even in the original 1964 PLO charter, they lay no claim to it. The problem with giving non-Israeli Arabs in the West Bank citizenship is that many if not most of them are very anti-Israel, so it would be suicidal to do that. I think giving them a state with a portion of the West Bank connected to Jordan is really the only viable solution.
3 states: Israel, Gaza, Palestine (west bank with land swaps). Settlers whose land isn’t absorbed into Israel can continue to live as a minority in West Bank. Peace deal will require full recognition and citizenship of settlers in new Palestinian state along with continued security cooperation with both Israel and palestianian authorities. Gaza can remain the status quo and hopefully gets absorbed by Egypt. Jerusalem is a unified city and a dual capital of both Israel and West Bank.
Alternative is 2 states: Gaza and Israel, but with demographic shifts eventually Israel could have a minority Jewish population.
Last alternative is status quo, which depending on if you count Gazans teeters on apartheid.
The video could have been 10 seconds long. These settlements are illegal under Israeli and international law. Stop trying to justify them. You can’t move populations into occupied territory. This isn’t hard to understand.
The Arabs of Palestine (who only became “Palestinians” in 1968) have a 100-year tradition of rejecting every offer made. Why would they stop now and spoil a perfect record of shooting themselves in the foot?

The UN was wronged when it partitioned Israel into two states: one for Israelis and one for Palestinians. Since Gaza residents are all Gazans, Let them have their own country as State of Gaza. NO, there are 22 Arab Muslim states, many made by the League of Nations at the same time as Israel was started. There is just one Jewish state. When the Byzantines attacked Jews or the Inquisition, there was nowhere safe to go. When rhe Arab Muslim states treated the Jews with Distain and forced them from the lands they lived in for millenia, they needed somewhere to go. Israel is the only Jewish state.
In the beginning, the Jews appealed to the Arabs to stsy in their houses and to help them create a country together, the Arabs from 5 countries plus the Arab irregulars attacked the one day old country of Israel.
They chose to leave, they chose to attack, not just one time but with 5 wars and 2 intafadas. The Jews won the wars, the Arabs have continually fought against them. They want to annihilate Israel and the Jews. Read the Hamas Charter, you will see, more is written on the hate and propaganda for Jews and to destroy Israel, than on how to develop or create an Arab country.

I am for Israel but displacing Palestinians of their rightful abode is not ok.
A) they're still living there and getting their utilities from the Israeli government. The only provisions are that it's called Israel instead of Palestine, and firing rockets is against the law. B) these territories were only taken after Arab countries ganged up and attacked Israel three on one, and the Palestinians collaborated. C) the neighboring Arab countries are the same nationality as the Palestinians, but closed their borders to them in other to exacerbate the issue and paint Israel in a bad light.

I don't use the term "Palestinian" if I can help it, because etymologically it's just a corruption of "Philistine" and used by the Romans who wanted to avoid the name "Israel". There is no Palestinian nationality, only Arab. That said, I personally know an Arab doctor who lives in Israel and is a good citizen. I respect such people and don't think of them as "slime under a rock". But I think they need to acknowledge that the Jews have priority to the land. The Arabs have over 20 countries and the "Palestinians" originate from them. The Jews have only one country. And people need to understand that the so-called occupation is the natural consequence of losing an unprovoked war.
