    output b2 is formerly aux output. voicemeeter changed it.
    "Voicemeeter output" is now called "Voicemeeter Out B1"
    - "Voicemeeter AUX output" is now called "Voicemeeter Out B2"
    - "Voicemeeter VAIO3 output" is now called "Voicemeeter Out B3"

    Not sure if anyone else ran into this issue. My issue was when it came to separating my music, I did everything in this video (almost), but Spotify would not play at all. It kept giving me an error "Spotify can't play this right now..." At some point in the video I saw that he had his A1 output source set to "CABLE input" so I made mine the same without thinking. It confused me because I'm a visual learner so as soon as I saw the A1 set to "CABLE input" in the video, I did just that. Make sure to listen to when he says make A1 your headphones or whatever output you want, do not make "CABLE input" one of the A# sources.

    Nice and quick, feels pretty good. The only thing I see that could be improved is making sure people use the default ASIO drivers rather than MME or other protocols, but it can honestly be a hastle in Voicemeeter to get it to use the ASIO drivers since they never show in the dropdown for input and output choices. You're gaining a LOT of latency using the non-ASIO drivers.

    • @roxiierpg8634
      @roxiierpg8634 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So don't use MME? What steps did you have to do in order for ASIO to show up under devices?

    • @Sidkain
      @Sidkain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@roxiierpg8634 The latest updates have changed things and simply removing the inputs from the channelsl strips will default them to the ASIO inputs. Also the PATCH ASIO Inputs to Strips in the system settings is now working properly.
      My entire point of this comment was to make sure to let users know to NOT use MME, and rather use ASIO. KS and WDM drivers suffer from the same latency issues that MME does, though MME tends to be the fastest of the 3 anyway. ASIO blows them all out of the water.

      @@Sidkain sorry should have said I'm referring to when using just the laptops audio (rather than my usb interface). I found an alternative called 'flexiasio' which seems pretty good. I'm getting latency down to around 25ms(asio4all was 19ms). Flexiasio allows multiple 'apps' to run through it at the same time which asio4all doesn't so that's a definite plus👍

    -
    And the boys was in discord so i joined and said "Hi gentlemen, how is it going?". And theyre like "Uhm who is this? Your microphone is the best ive heard". And it took a couple of seconds for them to realize that it was me. I was fascinated that I sat there with the cheapest headset ive ever had and sounded like some guy from a quality podcast. I'm gonna try this tutorial and report all my results below. A couple years ago, attempting to use Voicemeeter messed up my entire audio so bad that I had to revert my PC to a previous backup just to uninstall it successfully. I hope this goes better. Here goes:
    Edit 1: Working great! Mostly... it seems I can no longer control my volume with my keyboard's volume controls. By lucky chance, I found I CAN still change my volume with my USB headset's volume control. Once I touch it, then I can use my keyboard volume control, but not before. I'm not thrilled about that... but it's not a dealbreaker.
    Edit 2: Completely unprompted, after changing NOTHING, all of the sound coming through my headset is static and garbled, and my speakers no longer work. This is a Twilight Zone nightmare. Again. Cool cool cool. 😑
    Edit 3: Figured out from another of your videos that Menu --> Restart Audio Engine is a quick fix for it. Thank goodness. I was frickin' having flashbacks.

    You remember that test they handed out in like 3rd grade where it had 25 tasks to do, and the first one was, "read all the instructions before doing anything"?
    This video is that test, modernized.

    been trying for weeks to get my touch portal soundboard and at the end of your vid when you make a music input i thought to instead make a soundboard input got it playing to a1& b2. the ear trumpet was the missing piece but i think i got it now and feel better knowing i wasnt just given the answer but had to develop a bit to overcome that technical issue. thanks!

    The thing that makes this whole process more complicated than it should be, is having to install all these different apps and route the signal all over the place. This level of control over audio should be built into operating systems from the start.

      Yes exactly. And there is so much that can go wrong. I can already feel the headache of a windows update messing with all this stuff.

    lol i feel like anyone trying to get a grasp on the software are gonna be in for a real hurtin' when they actually try out the VM software. You made it sound so easy and approachable, but theyre all in for a world of hurt :D
    I think it took me legitimately like a year of tinkering with it on and off bit by bit before i fully got a grasp on how to use it and set it all up properly. Its still far from perfect actually.

      Yeah its not if u have the option of going with any half decent mixer they make for streamers or anything like that. I actually very much appreciate it because it can be extremely flexible and it keeps getting updated or improved which idk how far u could upgrade a physical mixer without touching it.
      I couldnt really justify paying for a real mixer that seemingly did as much as VM stuff did/does for me now.
      Again it did take a while before i got the hang of it and could take advantage of stuff like multi channel audio recordings for editing on adobe premier pro with
      .
      Oh yeah and its all very dependent on my CPU so u gotta keep that in mind too.@@drklrsn

    I followed your directions and it works well. But, I noticed a static sound coming from my headphones. It’s not constant but still kinda cringe. Any tips??

  • @Haiyami

    A little update KS and WDM will not work properly if you are trying to play an MP3 through windows default media player and having it run through the VB-virtual audio cable, the sound ends up sound like a blown out speaker with crackles and noise ( regardless of how low the media setting is). I tested playing mp3 and flac files in Media Player Classic Home Cinema and the noise problem went away. I'm not sure of the actual cause though. The drivers seem to all be working correctly as well. I'm wondering if I'll be monitoring my audio through voicemeeter rather than OBS though cause there is audio output to stream directly.

    • @Haiyami
      @Haiyami ปีที่แล้ว

      So second update: I found out that the cause for static when using a virtual audio cable for WDM or MME, its usually a problem of sample rate. Lowering the sample rate for the cable MIGHT fix the problem but I've noticed it only makes it worse by lowering sample rate in the vb-audio cable settings menu. It's better to go in to settings of VoiceMeeter and set the sample rate for WDM at 2048 samples which is the highest you can go. The default 512 is usually not enough on new machines. MME is set at default 1024. I say pump it up one level to 1536 samples. This should fix the problem. Using KS virtual point just limits options. and KS sample rate should be kept at default unless you have to use KS and are still experiencing problems. In that case set KS to 2048 samples.

    Can anyone help? I had it all set up and now after an up date nothing is working. My headphones don’t show up as a output source, my speakers are all jacked up. I’m trying to follow this setup again but everything is messed up and I don’t know how to reset my audio settings on the pc.

    Easily the best simple setup video for voicemeeter. I’ve lost my setting 2-3 times and have come back to this video and it takes 30 seconds to reset it
