      @@willtoulan Funny story... I think it was the CV's. After I replaced them I did some clutch dumps(while on jackstands) and the clunk I heard may have just been the jackstands. (I know... LOL right?) None the less, I had also replaced the engine mounts. No clunks now.
      CV's took less than 2 hours. Engine mounts less than an hour. If they are all old anyway, just swap it all and be done with it. I replaced all steering and suspension on an MK4 golf from rock auto for less than a grand. No demons to chase if everything is new.

    I have a 2003 Jetta 2.0 manual trans with 230K miles. I am getting vibration in front end only when accelerating and only at somewhat higher speeds. If I am going around 50 mph and push gas pedal down then front will vibrate/shake. If I take my foot off of the gas it is smooth as can be. I did have tires rotated and balanced but didn't help. Could this be engine mounts?

    • @Mechani_Cole
      @Mechani_Cole  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you checked the lower control arms? If it only happens when accelerating it could be the engine mounts. If it happens all the time even when going downhill and neutral then it's something to do with your alignment or control arms or a warped rotor.

    • @zmoorer
      @zmoorer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mechani_Cole Thanks. It only happens during acceleration. And not noticeable below 30 or 40mph. I am pretty sure that engine mounts are original. I also read that CV shafts being worn could cause this. They seem to be original as well.

    • @Mechani_Cole
