I had a "pet" duck. My duck and I were pretty tight, and we had our own language. I home schooled her as if she was my child. I was amazed at how far she got. It changed my mind completely about the intelligence and sentience of animals. My duck lived with me 24/7/365 for 31 years, and I have had as hard a time with her death as I had with my son's death. In a way, I have lost two children, and that has been very hard. It may have been difficult, but if you really wanted to, I'm sure you could have found a way to keep Rambo. It is a really big commitment though, and since the two of you didn't bond as tightly as my duck and I did, he's probably better off where he is now. My duck wouldn't have survived outside. She didn't know how to be a duck and would have had very big problems if I put her out. We were inseparable and that's the way it had to be. By the way, there is a way to tell if a chicken is a boy or a girl as soon as they are out of the egg, but it's not at all comfortable for the bird, and if you don't know what you're looking for you won't know. Birds have an all-purpose hole called a cloaca. They use it not only for getting rid of bodily waste, but also for sex. If you turn a baby chicken over and and push down and back just behind the belly, it will expose the inside of the bottom of the cloaca. If there is a very tiny bump in there, you have a boy chicken, and if there is no bump, you have a girl chicken. You must be very careful when doing it because you can hurt the baby chicken and kill it if you do it wrong, and you need to have a very good eye to be able to see the bump. I had to try on 16 chickens before I finally found it, and I had to look at quite a few more before I got to the point where I could tell every time. I was lucky and learned from someone who had been doing it forever, so I had a very good teacher. If I had to do it myself without any guidance, I'm sure I would never have learned how to do it.
Awww I loved your story. I'm sorry for your loses (both your son and your duck). I can't imagine how dificult it should be for you, I lost my cat but I only had him for 8 years and it broke my heart, you had your duck for 31 years, that's a whole life. He's in a better place now, you give him a good life and love. I'm sure he was very happy to be by your side. ❤️
@@naomi-USA She was a very happy little duck, and often told me so.The delight she took in life was memorable, and just as it did with my son, her little discoveries helped me to rediscover that child-like way of viewing things. So true. I feel you very much! I'm almost 40 and I'm also still subconsciously suffering the losses of my childhood chickens. Two of them, Pinky and Brain, got eaten by my neighbor, because they sang at every hour of the day and my dad got annoyed and gave them away just before I joined the US Army. I refuse to suffer again, so I resist the urge of having any pet chickens. Every time I see one, I have to make an effort not to cry! My neighbor has a few and one of them made its way to my yard two days ago, and I saw it chilling under a palm tree in my front yard and eating the red berries, and I choked up!
Family comes in all forms. It always warms my heart knowing there are still others in this world who care about animals as much as you and that nice women who took Rambo in. You have a huge heart ❤
No bro its main Russian channel with more other dubbed channels this is one of them and also this is voiced by a narrator there were 2 narrators not the main man and the 1st one left
I totally felt this, it brought me to tears b/c I was in a similar situation years ago. When I was in college, I had to re-home a puppy that was not getting along well with one of my dogs,to the point where they were fighting so badly that I knew one of them was going to seriously injure the other Anyhow, it took a bit to find a new family for the pup and I was super anxious and stressed over the situation. I agreed to deliver the puppy to his new home..when I got there and went inside , my heart just sank. it wasn't an animal hoarder or something that horrific....but it also was not what I had expected after talking to the adopter earlier. But, .for many reasons, none of them good enough to warrant though...I left the puppy with them. Over 20 years later, I still berate myself for failing that poor dog. I knew the situation was not right, and I dread considering how things ended up. It may sound dramatic, but I consider it one of the larger moral failures of my life. I should have done what you did for Rambo: gone back for the puppy & cared for him until I found a beautiful home. But, I didn't and it haunts me to this day. I've been a pet parent who is in it from adoption to the animals last breath., for every pet I've been blessed with since that day, though and try to advocate for animals who need a voice as much as I can. I know that little puppy helped spark the passion I have for animals/animal welfare of all kinds...I'm no Betty White or Steve Irwin..but I feel like his legacy has helped better a few other animals lives. wow...so yeah, you hit all my feels with this. Thank you for being a good 'egg'.
YES - PLEASE keep tabs on Rambo. He's the 3-year miracle chicken! (Perhaps, the only one in the world). I can't believe what amazing companions you all have been for each other. I feel for you, and him, and your decisions, and I definitely want to see more happy stories about his triumphant life in the future.
Rambo will have a great life there! shows how much you loved her! (she looks like a hen to me) Thank You for being one of the good people on this earth! and im sure Rambo knows it too!
With how nice that lady was who took Rambo in, I think you should offer to give her business a shout-out on your channel. Just in case you have viewers in the area who'd be interested in buying from her.
As an Australian, I was thinking, "oh, a half hour drive. That's not too bad." 😂 But if they were having to drive through lots of towns and villages, then that would add to the driving time.
I have chickens and love having fresh eggs. They have personalities of their own. Pretty cool. I believe it to be therapeutic to have a garden and raising chickens. I wish I had more property to raise turkey and quail and ducks.
I’m still confused on why they started finding a place for Rambo to stay on the day of departure? If he’s so precious why didn’t they carefully plan this before hand..?
I'm so glad you reconsidered your first option for Rambo and found a better place for him to live! I'd love to see a follow-up video showing how he's getting along in his new environment! (Also, I think someone who commented below that Rambo is a hen may be right, but luckily chickens don't have gender and don't really care what pronouns we use for them!)
This is so bittersweet, I'm sad he's gone and that you had to say goodbye but it was necessary so I'm glad he's happy. I get that goodbyes are also a part of life. But It never gets easier.
i have a blackbird as pet, she was abandoned so we took her in to feed her, this was shortly after her birth, she’s been living with me for 1 year now and i’m really happy to see how she adjusted to indoor life, we let her roam around in the garden during the evening so she can atleast do something natural, also to mention she can’t fly
'You can't even imagine what it's like to have a chicken as a pet!' I can, actually. As someone who has own hens since 2013, I've had my fair share of chickens! And I can agree with you, they are wonderful, rambunctious animals with a lot of energy! One more warning, if you ever decide to own more chickens, have 2 or 3, they get lonely alone! Oh and, if you are going to ever leave a chicken outside, please keep an eye on it! I've personally lost a few hens to foxes and other wild animals, also make sure they don't escape, roads, dogs and lakes/ponds/rivers can be very dangerous!
Yah, chickens should ALWAYS be keeped in a secure enclosure after sunset. Let them roam around during the day then use food or treats (or yourself if they are more bonded to you) to get them into a coup / enclosure.... Raccoons will even kill chickens. Really, don't leave ANY animal out over night, even in most cities. You'd be surprised what is wandering around outside after dark. My city has a bunch of raccoons and even coyotes that are seen in the middle of residential areas 5+ miles from any place that they would have a den. ... so ya KNOW they are hunting for food and that food is gonna be your chickens, cats etc that are left outside over night.
I think you should feel proud. Ramboo is so happy. She has new friends and I have the feeling that this generous lady will take care of her more now she knows the story behind it. As friends and family sometimes we need to take different ways but we will always have the prints of the happy moments we gathered when together. I'd be looking forward to seeing the new video.
This video made me teared up. As a person who loves animals, I can’t see myself giving my pets to someone else. It always breaks my heart. I hope you can visit Rambo soon. Im sure she missed you. Yes, rambo is a girl.
I'd love to see Rambo again!! Please do visit the hen, as I've been watching him since he was born and I'm really captivated by him. (Her? Him? Lol idk anymore.)
Yeeeaaaaah! bird friends! Aww Rambo is so cute. I can confirm they poop everywhere and anywhere. When the chickens take dust baths together and they get dirt ON each other is so adorable
Rambo's father, Your a blessing to the world and to humanity. I watched all 3 documentaries. I never thought that this would touch my soul the way it did, Thank you!
It's not just a chicken. You made Rambo, and it was a lot of hard work. You can't make life like that and not feel some form of attachment and responsibility. Not unless there's something wrong with you. This just shows your human decency.
I wish I could explain why this video moved me so much, I guess something about the age old question; "what came first.. the chicken, or the egg??" Well I guess this doesn't prove what came in what order.. But it does prove the egg to be irrelevant for sustaining conditions to thrive in from insemination to birth.. This proves anything is possible, but there was something about seeing that little heart develop, and witnessing literally the birth of a new life, that even a chicken can conquer even the worst odds.. Idk why but seeing this helped me spirituality.. Thank you for sharing this video and not giving up on the process.. You're an awesome human..
Bro! I am crying… All started me showing my 6yrs old son your video about how Rambo was born and explaining to him the process… then he went back with his mother… So I was alone again facing another lonely week as a recently separated parent… Then curiosity hit me… Thanks!!! This made me cry, because I compared it to giving my beloved pet, because I raised her from a young age.
Family comes in all forms. It always warms my heart knowing there are still others in this world who care about animals as much as you and that nice women who took Rambo in. You have a huge heart ❤
man I cried for a chicken story. have a good life Rambo, it's been few minutes of joy watching you grow
I’m honestly impressed with how far your accent has changed. Your so fluid with English it’s amazing

I followed your story with rambo from day 1 and felt so touched, good job man.. Love from Indonesia
I have three adorable hens, speckled sussex. In my family we've had pet chickens for a long time, and they're adorable.

I’m so glad you found a good home for Rambo. Please give us an updated note and then!
"She lives very far away, 40 kilometers"
As an American, that made me laugh. I think I've driven farther than that for milk.
Bruh
As an Australian, I was thinking, "oh, a half hour drive. That's not too bad." 😂 But if they were having to drive through lots of towns and villages, then that would add to the driving time.

I saw this series with more love & attention than all the other shows & content I’ve seen in my life! Beautiful! Love!
I have chickens and love having fresh eggs. They have personalities of their own. Pretty cool. I believe it to be therapeutic to have a garden and raising chickens. I wish I had more property to raise turkey and quail and ducks.
👍 I hope you don't eat other chicken personalities 😉

I got choked up watching this... So sad to see her go.
I'm interested, I totally want an update. That chicken was adorable and kind of a miracle too given how many attempts you made to hatch one.
I’m still confused on why they started finding a place for Rambo to stay on the day of departure? If he’s so precious why didn’t they carefully plan this before hand..?
Honestly the probably wanted to spend more time with the chicken, people tend to think things are going to go more easier than they actually do
Plus he doesn’t have the facilities for the bird
Wish all the world were like you ... ur great buddy ❤
I absolutely love this, to think this chicken was raised from a science experiment. I hope it's life is long, and happy
Thank you so much for sharing Rambo, I love her! Such a wonderful Hen!!
We will all miss Rambo, goodbye Rambo.

We love little Rambo. Please update us on his progress as an adult ☺️

'You can't even imagine what it's like to have a chicken as a pet!'
I can, actually.
Good luck, Rambo. Have a great life in your new home!
This story hits home, when you leave your pet with someone else and have this feeling that the pet won't be happy there
I think you should feel proud. Ramboo is so happy. She has new friends and I have the feeling that this generous lady will take care of her more now she knows the story behind it.
As friends and family sometimes we need to take different ways but we will always have the prints of the happy moments we gathered when together. I'd be looking forward to seeing the new video.
not gana lie, for some reason i feel emotionally attached to rambo, what a great journey
This video made me teared up. As a person who loves animals, I can’t see myself giving my pets to someone else. It always breaks my heart. I hope you can visit Rambo soon. Im sure she missed you. Yes, rambo is a girl.
I love that they had to hide the chicken from the house owner and the neighbours lmao
Awww, Rambo's new owner seems like a super sweet lady!
I'd love to see Rambo again!! Please do visit the hen, as I've been watching him since he was born and I'm really captivated by him. (Her? Him? Lol idk anymore.)

It's not just a chicken. You made Rambo, and it was a lot of hard work. You can't make life like that and not feel some form of attachment and responsibility. Not unless there's something wrong with you. This just shows your human decency.
2:40 "...I had to wipe his ass."
Literally
She’ll be missed, I’m sorry this happened. Atleast she is doing well with new friends.
