Braddah man. Do you know why my drag is so tight on my penn senator 4/0?
First thing you should unspool the line off the reel take to bait shop that can spool the reel with the amount of pressure to pack the braid on tight then give another try from what your telling us the braid is digging into the braid that would cause that problem you are having.
As far as the drag goes, you need to have it serviced. It probably was stored with the drag fully engaged which has damaged the drag washers. Always loosen star drags after use to prolong the life of the drag washers. Once you get those issues straightened out, you should get many years of service out of a Penn of that vintage with proper care.
Shit bradda when it comes to technical stuff about reels I pretty clueless lmao but depending on how long you had um and how often it’s been used I would say a nice fresh service should have um too shape especially Penn they got some life in um🤙🙏

I saw a guy pull up 100lb ulua on the Trinidad 30, braddah had braided backing tho. I think that’s how he managed to pull it up because of the extra 300 yards of braid
That’s so killa and yah that’s why I run 400yrds braid backing just in case the big boys decide they like play💯

They actually both the same reels it’s just the tum is Kass aluminum and the Trinidad is billet. Other than that it’s the same reel good vid bro
