i pick the one with less in the pot, the leaves look more nourished & happy. i have a failure monstera inside & a nice one out on my porch. the one outside gets more sun. thanks for your valuable information...
I caved in and bought a $20 plant light for my indoor monstera that I turn on when I’m not home because it’s so bright, but that made all the difference and revived the dying plants. They’re busting more leafs and fenestrating them more. Good luck to you!

I found with my rescue I could also train the leaves to face forward with some help of some ribbon gently tied near the leaf neck and back to the pole. Along with a vertical grow light I was able to eventually release the ribbons and had a very "organized" looking monstera. But I also have some droopy, less hardy, less full looking leaves, that I think are what makes your re-arranged monstera example as reading less attractive.

First of all, love your videos. They are so simplified and yet educative. I noticed every time you pot a plant/cuttings, your pot seems disproportionately small!! Is that on purpose? I have a fairly large 4 year old plant that I want to report....is it better to go with same sized pot or larger pot now that it's 4 yrs old? Pls advise.
Usually if the leafs are bigger than the pot I will use a bigger pot. And it also gives more room for the pole and future roots. But it's very true, it's all about preferences:)
it doesn't mater as much which you use, as long as you do it and follow the instructions so you dont over fertilize. I do have some fertilizer videos you can search on my channel.
Well, you took plants of the same size and rearranged them. So yes, they still are the same size 4 month later. It might look more balanced when so take at least one smaller plants. 😅 Thanks for the wonderful video in any case! It must have been a lot of work to shoot and explain it so well. Thank you!
I must say, I prefer the water propped one! I have one I water propped after dropping the still juvenile mother plant, which WAS 5 babies. Seedlings I believe! Baby is doing better than Mama!
I think a sword might be a better way to remove some of the stems but to each their own. Definitely agree with water one being better, also reflects my same experience with avocados I have left in water longer vs the ones I put in soil as soon as they rooted.
Would you please explain why cutting off leaf, which hasn't died yet, will slow down the growth? I cut off one of lower leaves recently, I was convinced it'll take the energy wasted for that small leaf and direct it towards new growth:/
Example 1: the plant is in its pot in a closed system. The leaves only job is to produce energy for the plant. Fewer leaves, less energy. Example 2: the plant has been cut and it is water propagating (open system) With a now small root system, the plant needs to work extra hard to move water from the roots to the stem and foliage. With too much foliage the plant will not be able to provide all the water it needs. The plant will start to kill off foliage in hopes to save the newest leaves. This is why it is important to propagate some plants with limited foliage.

You can use that to tell how wet the soil still is/isn't
