Wider is such a cutie pie ! He is Bri's mini-me ! Adorable matching outfits Bri ! Gracie, so sorry about the chick losses. Good luck trapping those rats Art. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Back in March, the post office left our chicks at a warehouse for 2 days before we ended up getting them, which was a total of 4 days from hatch before they got to us. Over half our order was DOA, and more died within the next day or so but the 16 we've got left are thriving!
I’m always blown away by how smart wilder is. It’s amazing that he would be able to to figure out that the car couldn’t drive because the tire wasn’t touching the ground. I have 4 kids an my youngest turned 2 end of Feb an she is getting smarter everyday but wouldn’t have the mental capacity to figure out something like that.
So fun for Bri to get to go shopping for the "Twins". Such adorable items as well. We just added our fifth to our crew! Our fourth boy with a girl in the middle. Born on Sat. "Wylder Edward". Our other three boys have W names so Wylder was our next pick.
Lovey vlog. Wilder is an adorable clever boy & I have no doubt he will remember how to change a tyre. It was so sweet to see the joy that you had Bri in shopping for baby clothes. They were beautiful sweet lovely baby clothes you got Bri. Do you sew, knitt or crotchet Bri? Because if you did you could have baby clothes in the colours you like & ones that nobody else has, plus better quality, nicer than the ones in the shops. So good to see that you had fun shopping for baby clothes.
Wilder is such a helper. It’s his nature. Plus he is so curious. Kudos to you for encouraging you children in expressing their curiosity and helping them find answers to their questions. You are great teachers.
I know this is unrelated to this video, but I was scrolling thru some old videos and came across the gender reveal for your fifth ..... I heard Grace saying “I wish it was twins!!!!! Well I never- hi from the UK 😉🤩
What a fabulous video- keep setting those traps. Wilder is going to be Daddys Boy & your biggest help as he loves to learn. Those baby clothes were just gorgeous & made Bri smile so much. Cheers Denise- Australia
I look forward to your video's so much. I enjoy watching the kid's exploring and making choices that will make them choose paths. Grace and her enterprise next will be Joyful and on and on.
Art throw those tom kat traps away! I stopped setting snap traps and started using DIY traps! Works great! If you have any pearlite left over take a 5 gallon bucket fill about 1/3 full with water, put a layer of pearlite on top of the water and put some feed on top of pearlite! I caught 30 mice in 2 weeks time! And one ground squirrel!
I bought similar baby clothes for my twins. Later they wore Osh Gosh overalls with t-shirts we needed the handles to grab them when they were running off!!! My twins were as big as my singles -Boy 9#4oz, Girl 7#8oz. I was actually hoping for a little smaller 🥴. So blessed that they were both healthy.
Grace sure takes good care of her siblings! She’s a good girl she is :) All your kids a darn good kids! I saw a cute little boy in a short sleeve button down top in pink and blue stripes..he was adorable !
One twin is mostly smaller then the other, I was much smaller then my twin. Had to be watched when I was born, cause I was so small. I’m excited for your family smile
Yes, definitely get ahold of the hatchery, they will want to know and make it right. Oh Bri, I totally understand that joy getting clothes for your twins. There is something special when you have twins share a matching/similar outfit. Twins, even though different people, have shared each other from conception. It always made my heart happy having matching/similar outfits.
Second comment..... the maniacal look of happiness on your face when you spotted the dead rat. Having mice infestation on my porch every few years I truly understand...... LOL!
It is such a privilege to be able to share in your joy over the new babies to come And to enjoy seeing how sweet all of your children are to each other. Thank you so much for sharing, it sure does my heart good. God bless y’all!
I absolutely Love all of the kids!!! I think it’s awesome how they all play together and hide in the tall grass! Also, I thought I was in the clear seeing a dead rat, but just at the end, I was chewing up my chicken and there was a dead rat!
Wilder is so precious, he just wants to learn everything! Love that! Also, I kept trying to get you to hear me saying after you touched the rat trap: “ahhhh, don’t touch your face”! Lol
Hi Art, I too have had rat issues this spring, and I’m sure we are not alone. A couple of tricks I have learned over the years is first off, drill a small hole in the trap in one of the corners so you tether it to something the little buggers can’t drag away. As for bait, I have found that a small piece of pepperoni, yep, pepperoni to work incredibly well. I wrap a small half inch size piece in fine meshed onion bag material and then tie it on to the trigger release thingie on the trap. So far this spring I have got 7 rats with the same trap and I haven’t even had to change out the bait. Happy Hunting...
My dad gave my two year old brother a junk car to play with. Rather was a hand full as mom had polio and was wheelchair bound. That was such a joy for him, as he learned every part. You are doing it right working with the kids.
A small tip that I got from a professional pest/vermin control man was that you should never handle the traps with your bare hands as it leaves human sent on the traps and makes the vermin wary of going near them you may catch one or two but most will avoid the traps if they smell human scent he would only handle traps with rubber gloves and before using them would bury them in the ground for a week or two to ensure that they were scent free
From the unexpected death of baby livestock to intentional trapping of pest animals and onto the joy of new life to come. Great video. Wilder is the sweetest. Pure honesty in that boy. Great music to create the soundtrack of life. I do so love your family and your videos. God bless you all.
For future reference. The E-Break only holds the rear tires and the transition holds the front in park on a front wheel drive van. Always add a Wheel Chock or a rock to block the wheels on the ground.
Find the den holes. Fill with 2 pounds of dry ice and cover. The ice will turn to gas, depleting the O2 levels in the den and they will die. We had a 4 hole den that came to our compost and I thought I trapped them all last fall. Dens reopened this spring. Did this one morning and the dens never opened from rat traffic out.
You all put a smile everytime.thank God for technology so I can share your experiences all the way from Trinidad and Tobago in sunny Caribbean. Love this family
When I was a about 9 or 10 years old, I trapped almost 30 pack rats out of the old cabin on my grandparents ranch. I used a couple of old coyote/raccoon traps which I carefully slid into short lengths of old stove pipe and which I had attached the chains to pieces of wood (so if it only caught their leg they couldn't drag the trap far). I baited the traps with a little grain sprinkled in the pipe under the trap. Sometimes I had to finish them off by knocking them over the head with the piece of wood. I caught at least two rats a day which I then buried and set big rocks over them to keep track of how many I got. I am a female and it amazes me how squeamish most people are these days. I love animals, but sometimes you have to do what is needed on a farm.
As soon as we can replace the head of USPS and get back to normal delivery and no more ridiculous delays!! Half my bees were dead when they arrived as well. They went from Oregon (final destination: California) up to Anchorage and sat in Anchorage for DAYS and THEN started back down to California. DeJoy is trying to kill the USPS and IS actually killing our own livestock!
I hope you had a great time shopping for your new little babies. You deserve some fun with all that you do as a mother, wife & homesteader. You are one busy lady. I personally hope you found a good place to eat some lunch and then had fun with Rebecca. We're all rootin' for you, and you do not have to explain yourself to us.... don't feel that way. Jojo from Mississauga Ontario Canada.
My husband bought all new tires on his 4wd suv. Two weeks later he got a hole on a sidewall. He just replaced the one tire since the tread loss was small. It would have been much worse if he had a bit more wear on the tires. He didn't buy insurance for that. I bought insurance for my 4wd with all new tires and of course I haven't had a flat yet. Go figure.
My go to bait for mice and rats(haven't had a rat here in over 10 years thankfully) is the rind end of bcon. I tie it on with dark thread so it doesnt slip off easily. I caught 3 in one day on the same trap. I hope you catch them soon. A friend if mine who worked at the post office says it is not a good idea to order chicks by mail with the cut backs and delays. Even with prioriy shipping they sit in open unheated buildings and trucks for longer than is safe. The problem is country wide.
So sad for Grace. I know a lot of chicks are either doa on arrival or die shortly after arrival. My daugter had 2 batches back to back doa on arrival. So sad.
Received mine in the mail last week and they all died. 7 died before I got them and the last one died the next day. I believe its an issue with the post office. Hoping my replacement goes better!
Frederick Dunn (The Way To Bee) has a video on his channel about a box he built that has a really high success rate for rodents. Without endangering any of his animals. Having had a rodent problem I found his video extremely useful!
We lost SO many meat chicks this year. We lost just a few last year but this year almost half with the first batch and more than half with the second. Such a sad thing.
Bri was just beaming 😀 from her little shopping trip!! She had the best smile giving 😍 💕 everyone great joy!! I hope that the hatchery can do something for Grace about the chicks since she is doing this with her own money. It is a good learning experience for the kids to learn about the 🐀 rats and why they need to be dealt with. I was so amazed how much Wilder took to the "squished tire" needing to be changed & wanting to help change it!! I wouldn't be a bit surprised how much he'll remember that lesson from his daddy 😏 🤔 😉!!! I truly enjoyed this video today
So sorry Grace lost so many of the chickens she bought. That is a shame & I hope the hatchery sends her more. Get those rats...they are big. I don't think your kitty would even like o mess with them. Bri, the baby clothes are precious. Glad you are also thrifty enough to consider second hand for play clothes. New babies though need the new ones. Y'all have a Blessed day.
Need to take a screen shot of Wilder riding on ur shoulders as u carry TWO bales of hay..... Frame n mount on wall..... Just too precious....
That cracks me up. Wilder is only kid to learn to change a tire. He was so serious and cute. 💖
When Wilder gets a little older, his memory bank will function and you will be minus some lug nuts!
@@mtavish
😆🤣😂
Wilder always wants to do everything his daddy is doing. Adorable! Plus he’s learning so much!
It made my heart swell with love when Art was carrying Wilder on his shoulders and hay in his hands... the memories shared...
With a chicken following them.
Having babies are the in thing in the homesteading community ... I am loving it all ... remember to stay safe and stay blessed
Love WIlder saying the tire squished down. He is on it!

Art you are a very patient man. You consider each of your kids as unique people. It says much for you and will do wonders for them.
Big helper you had there. Good Job little fella .
It is amazing how much Wilder understands and processes in helping with the tire!
He really watched closely and was thinking hard! So cute!
So fun for Bri to get to go shopping for the "Twins". Such adorable items as well.

Bri has really popped! She looks beautiful! Getting excited to see the babies.
Wilder is a champ, great student! Stuck with you all the way through!! His little voice is wonderful!!🙏💕🙏
Wilder might know more about changing tires than I do...
Wilder is such a helper. It’s his nature. Plus he is so curious. Kudos to you for encouraging you children in expressing their curiosity and helping them find answers to their questions. You are great teachers.

Love the baby clothes ,and especially how Wilder was so invested in tire changing he's adorable. You are a fantastic dad.
I am so impressed by Grace. She is a dedicated young woman. I love watching with her siblings, cooking or doing chores. Good job dad & mom.

We have stopped buying from stores and we hatched our own chicks this year on our channel! They have been so healthy and grew up so fast!
Us too. We're hatching as fast as we can for local folks!
@@PromisedJubilee that’s a great idea! And it’s also so much fun!
What a beautiful relationship you have with your children. Wonderful upbringing for them.

Wau! The little boy literally follows dad and is always helping in everything.

Wont work for rats. They’re too big and can jump too high for a 5gal bucket.

What a sweet precious baby boy! Mr. Wilder has grown up so much this past year. He will make such a great big brother.
Such a lovely family and channel 🥰 !

Those baby clothes were so cute and great work with the tire change and the rat traps. Be Blessed :)

Galivanting once in a while is just fine. And baby shopping is great for you. Even us Grandma's love it. And sharing with friends is best.
Changing a tire is such an important skill to have, so neat to see you teach them. :D
Wow, great idea! Carbon dioxide poisoning! Could you use propane too? Propane is heavier than air so it would sink down into the hole.
Seeing the new baby clothes made my heart happy!
I have a 7 month old and watching Bri with all those baby clothes just gives me baby fever all over again! Can’t wait to virtually see the new babies!

I always lodge my peanut butter UNDER the trigger so they have to work for goodie and are more likely to get hit squarely.

Us too Art. Car tire flat while traveling and riding lawn mower tire was flat today. Must be a flat tire moon on the rise! 🤣
Your kids are adorable and you're doing a magnificent job of teaching them. And I know you know that already, but I wanted to say it anyway.
