I absolutely love Lloyd as a comedian. Seems like such a great bloke listening to him here. Gambling is a crippling addiction and it’s nice to hear chats like this
I did “courtsiding” when I lived in Japan. Bet on J-League 1, 2 and 3 for 5/6 games before the app clocked on. Made a few hundred quid. Just used a VPN and bingo. Had the next goals for both teams queued up and placed when the goals went in.

I won 3.3k off a 50 quid acca when I put France to win the World Cup in 2018. That was my biggest high gambling but lost close to 30k. Was heavy into it constantly looking at my phone or at work betting on random games. I knew I had to change as was gonna overdose or jump off a bridge to kill myself, Im now 1 year clean and enjoying football more than ever!

True, it becomes more exciting trying to win back the losses. I almost went out there specifically to do that, it’s not really about the money, more the act.
betting on scottish reserves is a quick way to get your account limited, also bookies wont take much stakes on games like that, 50/100 maybe but thats not big stakes and soon after 1 or two on reserves itll be 10quid max etc, its all about longevity in this game, being limited in 4 bets is what you need to avoid.

You know you've got issues when you tell someone how much you've won but are guarded over how much you've lost.
How many times have you heard your friends talk about a crazy accumulator that was one goal or one game off being a huge winner.
They're the bets the bookies want to take mug bets from mug punters try opening a new account when you know what you're doing and have couple of horse wins with £30/£40 on and try doing it a third time your account will be restricted that's how the always win
After spending time some time living outside the UK one of the things I immediately noticed when I come back was gambling is advertised a ridiculous amount even when I don't bet I still get targeted online consistently and its always on the tv
I used to be part of a gambling syndicate which made tens of thousands by exploiting bonus deals and online casino games where the odds are slightly in your favour (blackjack and poker). They've tightened down on it a lot over the last ten years and now it's all but impossible to make any real money, even back in the day it only worked because we were using hundreds of accounts and had enough of a cash float to cover the days where the odds just didn't fall in our favour for whatever reason. Fun times, I only made a couple of grand over the course of a year steady income for little-to-no effort but I know the guys who were running the bots and floating the accounts made really good money by abusing the legally grey areas of the market at the time.

Being vague cos am no grass, I had a late night gig in a quite place years ago and two blokes absolutely coked off their heads started chatting shite to me, they where both obviously not local so I asked them what they where doing here and they kept giving me weird cryptic answers like they wanted to brag because they where smashed but knew they shouldn't. He said turn on channel 499 at 6pm on Friday and you'll see, at that point I thought they where going to rob a bank or something and it would be a news channel at the time. Later on they wrote down a list which was basically 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 3-1 and said there you go nice tip for you. Turns out that channel was some weird shit sports channel like Premier Sports or something and one of them was playing in some weird niche sport and it was fixed. I never managed to bet on it because I could only find betting on some weird site and it didn't go up until a few hours before it started.

I'm wondering if you could balance profit and loss by making large bets and making bets you know will lose/low chance of winning to trick the algorithm but still make a healthy profit.
Some professionals do that, but it's a lot of work
Should only bet for enjoyment but if win its a bonus always bet on football on the weekend but if i lose i stop until next weekend i do it for enjoyment

No matter how much of a big win you might hit in the end you will lose more than you make. I use to gamble every angle, horses, dogs, football accas, poker games and spins. My misses ended up leaving me I lost a couple of good friends through arguments because all I cared about was gambling and once it grips you it's not even about the money it's the buzz it gives you but ultimately that is what the bookies prey on.
Poker is the one game that is acceptable imo because if you lose money in the long term and across your time of playing poker. You are just a bad player or make the same mistake of continuing playing players that are better than you
@@Heizzer47 I'll agree to an extent on that. Out of that list poker is the only one that is really skilled based, the horses, dogs, football and other sports are calculated guesses on what should happen. Like team A should beat team B almost every time, but we both know there's always the chance team B can win. Same with the dogs/horses, everyone can pick the race favorite but sometimes the outside dog/horse can win.
Poker is skill based, from your cards, cards on the board, betting behavior from other players you can work out what's going on 9/10 if you're a good player and when you know you got the nuts you got the nuts no surprise come back from the other player.
But anyway for anyone else reading this always remember just gamble with what you can afford to lose. Gambling is not a quick rich scheme.

Im a compulsive gambler, im over 2 years free of a bet, i don’t thing gambling is the problem, im the one with the problem, yeah i do believe more should be put in place to really show the dangers of gambling but for people to recieve backlash for doing an advert, i think that is a bit far, fair play for recognising that it isnt as fun as its made out to be, i can assure you its not

Betting exchanges are a far better way to beat the bookies

fair enough but what makes bookies win in the long run is the percentage they take off the odds, no matter which outcome leads to profit for them, which I’m sure you already know. On the exchange, as you said the market is efficient. It is possible to win long term

So many people in the comments saying the bookies are the only winners. This may be the case for 97% of punters, but the other 3% are made up of part-time and full-time professional gamblers who can win. You need to to put the work in, have extreme discipline, and either be able to make it work on the exchange or have lot of mates to use their accounts instead whilst using a VPN.
yes but they won't use a bookies odds they will bet in an exchange where the odds are far more reflective of the outcome, bookies are the only winners because their business model is mathematically build to fleece people long term by offering lower odds and instead the offer promotions to attract customers and to compensate for the poor value they offer, which they eventually remove from the users account

If you owned a restaurant and Once a week the same table of 20 would come in and all order the most expensive starters,mains and desserts and because they spend so much you throw them in a few free drinks, give them the best possible hospitality and encourage them the best you can to spend their money and leave you a big fat tip.. now you get a table of 2 that comes in and they are a nuisance because they know what to say in complaints and how to do it in order to get their food for free.. so the customer wins and you give them their meal for free.. now imagine they come in every day that week now and false complain on the food and get a weeks meals for free.. by the Friday they are banned from the restaurant because they have lost you money.. gambling is a business and every business must run the same way to succeed, so account banning and limiting is necessary for them to carry on succeeding wether it’s right or wrong, so do the right thing and keep ya goddam money in your pockets because if we all did that there wouldn’t be a fucking bookies and then we really would of won!!!

Yes you can, but once they know you can win they limit your stakes down to £1 or less so that even if you spent 18 hours a day it wouldn't be worthwhile.

I know, A guy my dad knee didn’t pay tax and instead he would very generously tip people in low paid jobs so the bar tender with 3 kids who never gets to go on a night out herself he would tip £100 or when he went to a cafe £50 wouldnt be out the ordinary to tip when he’s just had a cup of tea, also never met someone who gets better service than him lol
It’s a naive point of view, but it’s understandable. He thinks taxes are spent well by local councils to fund schools, hospitals and such. It’s romantic.
Most people know they’re spent on the wages of useless, bent councillors to buy 2nd and 3rd homes in places like Cornwall and Monaco. But, Lloyds heart is in the right place, bless him.

yeah you can, just because you didn't win doesn't mean it's unbeatable.
@@FraggerM8 long term it is unbeatable because you're being given lower odds by the bookie than the true odds of that particular outcome happening. the easiest explanation is a coin flip is odds of 2.0 so bet a tenner and if it wins you win a tenner and get your original stake back and if it loses you lose a tenner, but a bookie will give you odds of 1.9 so every time you win the bet you get £9 profit and every time you lose the bet you lose £10....in the long term statistically the amount of times you land heads will match the amount of times you land tails (it may take 10000 coin flips or even more but eventually it will) so basically the amount of times you win matches the amount of times you lose so your long term loss based on 10000 coinflips would be 5000 x £9 = £45000 in winnings and 5000 x £10 = £50000 in losses so a total loss of £5000 loss in the long term because the value you're getting in the bet is considerably less than it should be
@@paulb17110 of course it's beatable, I bet fulltime for 4 years but eventually they will just limit your betting account. The bookies don't have the exact correct odds on things happening obviously, and on lower sports like esports (what I was betting on to win) they are even less familiar.
If you're betting on top tier football you will have an extremely difficult time and 99.9% of people probably lose on that long term. But there is winners, that's why limiting sharp accounts is a practice nearly all bookmakers use.

The only way you can truly beat the bookie is by breaking their T's and C's and having an endless stream of new accounts you can set up, the bookie doesn't play fair but they expect the punter to
