Total respect to you, Ben, for telling your story and having the courage to show your vulnerability and wear it with pride. You’re an ambassador for PTSD awareness. As a paramedic of over 25 years experience I can say (with conviction) that not you, I, or any trauma surgeon that I have ever met could have made the outcome any different. It’s just a horrible tragedy. But when you have this condition all rationality goes out of the window. I wish you a healthy retirement from law enforcement and continued success with your channel. Thank you for your service and commitment and to you and everyone reading this- Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous 2024. ❤
Hearing that story and thinking back how my son was at 2 and imagining the horror of what you saw, man I'm fairly stoic but damn that broke me, got me fighting them back and that weight in my throat trying to escape.
I listened to this while I was running and had to stop and compose myself. As the father of a 3 year old it hit me hard, it could have easily been my son he was called to. The police don't get the respect they deserve and people don't realise what they have to do/see every day. Ben, you have my utmost respect.

I wish I could sit at a table and chat to Ben,I suffer from ptsd and severe depression too, there's so much ide like to talk about, and I can so relate to the backpack onalogy, you are an inspiration Ben and a true credit to the world
That's why I love working in a graveyard. I get to see people put their loved ones to rest and believe it or not graveyards are such a peaceful place. I recommend visiting one, even if your not visiting family. See the names of the people who came before you, imagine their accomplishments, their lovers and haters. Eventually, you'll feel the peace that the dead have and it's a beautiful feeling.
What a brave man, life goes on brother, accept it wasn’t your fault and deep down you know it’s not your fault, ask god for guidance, you’ll move on. Stay strong 💪🏾💪🏾🇸🇴
I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Ben you are an inspiration . You are helping to fight the stigma of mental health. Its OK not to be OK. I know your feeling of the backpack with a recent loss and going back to work. And because of you, you have helped me get through it
I remember my granddad was very similar before he died. He was in a rough way for a week or so, and barely responsive. Then he started to come around and show signs of improvement. Next day he passed away
I think this man is such an important figure for people to look at and pay attention to, never before I found his channel did I ever even think about what police have to go through and to have the “reputation” they have among some young people, I believe it is so important to educate the younger generation on what they go through because they deserve the upmost respect from everyone.
This is a diamond of a conversation. Amazing podcast, significant topics that we all forget, hearing this really makes you appreciate our public services. We all have moments of trauma but for a police officer they have to commit to trauma on the daily. These people are the bedrock of our values and sustain the security, safety and reassurance and trust of the public. A true eye opener! Keep up the goods!
Thanks for Ben, for different things, I have complex PTSD due to childhood and domestic abuse, I was also abducted by a peado at around 5 years old, I have back flashes and I think I'll always try and remember the policewoman that tried to help and question me, unfortunately I was to young to be of any help as such, I found out as I got older that he had abused his family members. Raising awareness is something we should do more. Thanks for speaking out Ben. The mh system here for me has been terrible and has added to my mh problems, so now I'm sat here with severe anxiety, agoraphobia, depression, probably cptsd, social phobia, generalised anxiety and OCD, I need to be rediagnosed but my GPs are a bit pants tbh. I also have fibromyalgia. I'm truly grateful to those that speak out about their own experiences.
Ben is one of the most amazing people to watch and listen too on TH-cam. So much respect for him and by telling his story is helping so many more people. Keep up the great work 💙
There's always something more impressive, with people who go through so much and have been and continue to be great selfless people, My nan was like that, had a horrible upbringing and early life but she was the nicest person to everybody. It takes real strength to be traumatised and abused and still be a really nice person, a lot of people struggle to be nice anyway so to do it after going through hell and back is next level.
This is why I passionately hate people who target the Police and bully them. Yes, not all Police are nice but no one is in any walk of life. These people day in, day out do their upmost to keep us safe and pay the price eventually. All my love and respect goes out to you Ben. I wish to be a Police Officer in the future and am inspired by you❤️
You passionately hate people who fear the police because the police do kill people. Racial profiling causes disdain between minorities and police. The police aren’t perfect and a lot of them aren’t great people.
I never comment on TH-cam but this is exceptional, what a truly moving story, I'm in tears. My heart goes out to you Ben, I hope you manage to deal with the burden you live with ❤
Thank you for your service legend. We appreciate everything you've done. I'm sorry that you live with guilt. Without any understanding of what it's like to do your job, I wish I could take the guilt away. You've done so much for others. Must've taken a lot to share such painful experiences, but doing just that could be a literal lifesaver for people who could find themselves in anything like a similar position. Greatest respect to this man
Total respect to you, Ben, for telling your story and having the courage to show your vulnerability and wear it with pride. ❤
Well done on talking about it . Legend
What an incredible person credits to him and his family thank you for the unselfish acts you do!!!!
Mad WHAT A LEGEND so many on the frontline and we don’t even realise
You don’t know what other people are going through never judge🖤❤️🖤🏚
Hearing that story and thinking back how my son was at 2 and imagining the horror of what you saw, man I'm fairly stoic but damn that broke me, got me fighting them back and that weight in my throat trying to escape.
I listened to this while I was running and had to stop and compose myself. As the father of a 3 year old it hit me hard, it could have easily been my son he was called to. The police don't get the respect they deserve and people don't realise what they have to do/see every day. Ben, you have my utmost respect.
Thank you for your service and all the other officers.Yes men can cry there is no shame.👏🏻🌹
To recognise you need help shows great strength of character.
Thanks Ben for your service and here's hoping it gets easier as your life moves on
I fell three times in three days and every time someone came and stopped it happening, my back pack was overwhelming 🙃. I survived and now have a little girl , be strong and talk 💪
been to that place , 3 months of being a zombie , but my grandaughter was there for me. she was 3 at the time , now 15 and she knows how important she is.
if you’re not guna talk to others cuz they dont/ cant listen, talk out loud to yourself in a place you trust that no one’s gunna be. process everythin in your backpacks guys! take care 👍🏻
I was looking at him for ages thinking have I met this guy then I remembered he was on Police Interceptors. My god this was heartbreaking so sorry you went through all that.
You are so amazing mate big respect 🏴💪
I wish I could sit at a table and chat to Ben,I suffer from ptsd and severe depression too, there's so much ide like to talk about, and I can so relate to the backpack onalogy, you are an inspiration Ben and a true credit to the world
Backpack analogy and brain collapse was very educational. The brilliant work that these people do is heroic 🙏🏼
It takes the strongest people to carry the trauma almost on behalf of the rest of the population. Genuine strength.
You're a very courageous man God bless you 🙏🙏🙏 your channel is great...glad I found it x
Wow I can’t believe I’ve only just seen this.... thank you for sharing. This is so powerful ❤️ x
What a brave man, life goes on brother, accept it wasn’t your fault and deep down you know it’s not your fault, ask god for guidance, you’ll move on. Stay strong 💪🏾💪🏾🇸🇴
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ben Pearson's a hero in a million different ways.
I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Ben you are an inspiration
. You are helping to fight the stigma of mental health. Its OK not to be OK. I know your feeling of the backpack with a recent loss and going back to work. And because of you, you have helped me get through it
This story gets me every time... while gaining more respect for Ben each time...
That was a tough listen, with kids I can't imagine how he felt when he seen that kid
I remember my granddad was very similar before he died. He was in a rough way for a week or so, and barely responsive. Then he started to come around and show signs of improvement. Next day he passed away
honestly ben is one of the most down to earth blokes ever, absolutely love watching his videos
Thank you for your service Ben. Keep talking and telling your stories and hopefully one day you can sit down and take off that backpack.
Wow. Brave bloke. Bravo, keep pounding out the message
I think this man is such an important figure for people to look at and pay attention to, never before I found his channel did I ever even think about what police have to go through and to have the “reputation” they have among some young people, I believe it is so important to educate the younger generation on what they go through because they deserve the upmost respect from everyone.
Simply put you are a beautiful person Ben! You get me every time I hear you! Keep strong
What a wonderful host, sad but lovely interview god bless this policeman 🙏
My heart goes out to you Ben, I hope you manage to deal with the burden you live with ❤
Sending you a big hug Ben xxxx You are such a lovely guy and you will help so many people with your honesty in this video. I love your channel xxxx
Thank you for your service legend. We appreciate everything you've done. I'm sorry that you live with guilt. Without any understanding of what it's like to do your job, I wish I could take the guilt away. You've done so much for others. We appreciate you and every other hero working as first responders, nurses and doctors, soldiers and any other industry where you put others above yourself. Thank you Ben
The man, the myth, the legend, the one they call Ben.
I literally had a thought when watching this guys videos that he’d be a great guest on this podcast
Wow this was an incredible watch Ben well done mate
I have been suffering with depression for the last 4 years and attempted suicide twice, started drinking everyday, doing coke and I was a mess, and I hit rock bottom at the start of this year where I got sent to prison and I came out thinking I need to change my life, moved out of my parents place got a flat with my cousin and luckily I’m feeling so good now, Ben is right men need to turn around and just say I need help and that is the strongest, bravest thing anyone can do
Hope your doing much better now you are righting these books and talking about it mate
Much love
Bless you Ben x and the host of this podcast is fantastic x
