VulturePilot way too many teams on the ranked ladder are just “what hits the hardest? Okay, now take that and Dynamax it so it hits even harder” most people are just using the newest gimmick instead of bothering to think about any of the new strat possibilities.
@@arlen7726 agreed. That’s why whenever I replay sword and shield for some reason, (probably bored) I always make it a no dynamaxing run because it makes it actually somewhat Gina me challenging. Disagree heavily with Piers. He Is one of the best written characters in the whole game. The fact that he doesn't dynamax should not be a negative at all. In the game Piers was said to be very close to beating Raihan in the tournament but lost only cause Raihan dynamaxed. If Piers decided to dynamax as well, he would've definatly beaten him. Overall he's in my top 3 leaders for this gen and one of my favorites of all time.

Throw in the fact Marnie, my favorite rival from Galar, is his little sister (and she got her Morpeko thanks to him), and Piers is one of my favorite Galar Gym Leaders. Not #1, though, i got Nessa there because her rare league card hints at her having chosen the same side career as Elesa and Valerie (though the latter had retired by the time of XY given the TV program that explains my fave part of Valerie's appearance)
Definitely agree about how he’s a great brother to Marnie as well. I’d say Piers and Marnie for me are tied at first for my number 1 favourite gym leaders.
I love how we genuinely got a fantastic cast of characters with the gym leaders being no different. Unlike in gen 6 when we had gyms and the leaders don’t stick out to me they come back with characters that don’t over stay their welcome and makes me love all of them
Kev ofThe2000s yeah these are easily my favorite case of gym leaders, all of them stand out and even the shield exclusive ones I still love cause they just radiate personality
I would expect Piers being high in the list possibly in the top 3, since you made a video talking about how there’s no dark gyms before SW/SH and that you wanted one.
Just the fact that Opal had been running her gym for SEVENTY years is very impressive and makes her worthy of respect. Plus I love her oddball kooky personality. Maybe not the hardest gym leader I’ve fought, but definitely among the most memorable and my favorite gym leader in Sword and Shield.
@Merciless Freak first: he doesnt have an ace, sure, maybe obstagoon but all of his Pokémon have the same amount power and he doesnt favor a specific one and even talks to all of them during the Battle. Second: WHAT DO YOU MEAN HES "WEAK",sure he isnt the strongest but, he is the 7 gym for a reason , unless you fought him overlevelld and with a complete faery type team , he can do a lot of damage and take alot of hits ,also, HE ALMOST BEAT RAIHAN IN THE FINALS, the only reason he Lost is because Raihan gigantamaxd. Last: hes a great caracter, hes the first dark type gym, hes great Big brother to Marnie, hes likeble , has a cool design and hes very much important in the normal Game AND the post Game. Need more? or are you going to keep saying he sucks because "hes team is not good in competetive".
@Merciless Freak In what way based on how you are acting you mashed A and did not even read the dialogue of anyone so well you complain how weak he is by overleveling your team others actualy look at Piers by not just how OP he is
Actually , when I was playing a flying mono ,I fight him on a 4 v 4 in gym challenge, and I put away my togekiss to make it even , so my team was rufflet, noibat , gyrados, and corviknight , all the Pokémon is the same level as him To make the story short , his scrafty one-shot my rufflet and noibat , then my gyrados and corviknight get defeated by obsagoon with brute force and prediction. He’s harder than Leon if you fight even
Ouchie. Piers is such a strong character, this is one of the most controversial decisions I think. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion but like... ouch, Piers is freakin’ awesome and the best older brother and just the sweetest guy ever
Dude, Piers is arguably the best character in the game. Legit starts a riot so you can break into the Marco Cosmo building /with the power of rock/. I would have placed Piers waaay closer to the too. And yeah, I would have also made Gordie last. Forgettable
I thought Opal's obsession with the colour pink was funny to me, especially when she encountered Bede for the first time. Piers was one of my favs just because he had a cool personality and helps you out at the end of the game a lot.
Yep, plus her favourite colour is purple and her quizzes while giving her opponents a massive edge if they get it right and thus makes her far easier on repeat attempts. Love her as a character and a gym leader. Although I did steamroll her.
Raihan is cute, but Piers is a top favorite for me. His relationship with Marnie is adorable and I think he’s really cute and handsome. I’m just a sucker for emo boys though
To me Piers is the best because he doesn't dynamax ! That makes him so different comparing the others ! And also he is the one who helps us the most ( and his personality
@Merciless Freak I don't think he acts like a child, moreover it is not like he could use dynamax and chose to not use it, it is not possible in his town And out of his town yes he chose to not use it, well he can, I don't really use it neither I find him pretty " mature " in the game, there is worst than him ( in my opinion for example, Leon is not mature at all :/)
Tbh not Dynamaxing isn't much of a big deal, every trainer before gen 8 didn't do it (they couldn't I know but I think you get my point). It only seems like a big deal with Piers because Dynamaxing is such a big deal in Galar. Piers can't even dynamax in his gym because it isn't built on a power spot. Him choosing not to do so afterwards is more or less him not being very accustomed to it so he had different viewpoints on it. I guess the only special thing about him not dynamaxing is him almost beating Raihan, which says a lot but at the end of the day he's only shooting himself in the foot because Raihan is always gonna have that advantage over him, that being Dynamaxing which is how Raihan beat him.
Milo was my personal favorite, and I have a few reasons why; he had a fun introduction to the Galar gym challenges with the Wooloo that roll wild, his rematch team is one of my favorites having gigantimax Appletun/Flapple, and he is also super dreamy. 😅🥰 Point being: Milo is my husband.
Piers and Kabu are my favourites. Piers cause he doesn’t dynamax giving his gym a more traditional vibe and also making him strong without using gimmicks, like he almost beat raihan without dynamaxing. Second is kabu as he seems to be very caring about the trainers (sending them off and all) but similarly to Leon seems to want everyone to be strong. Also I thought that it was admirable that he’s the only gym leader to walk on from the same side of the stadium making him seem more down to earth.
no to mention that according to the story, Kabu is such a big roadblock that the majority of gym challengers QUIT after facing him.He doesn't lose very often which is why he is so respectful to the few that get past him.
Peirs is an actually one of my favorites (next to Allister, I love that spooky little boy!!!!) He is stronger than people think, plus he helps out a good bit in late game and post game. Plus he is a great big brother and has supported and cared of Marnie a lot. I think he is awesome, dynamax or no.
Piers seems to actually be where Sword and Shield shine with the gym leaders. With the whole theme of the gym challenges being on a sports league, his refusal to Dynamax really reflects the idea of EPL teams in smaller markets getting shunned to the side. His decision to stay in Spikemuth is such that it does not get forgotten. And remember, even Raihan has a tough time with him without Dynamaxing which maybe says more to his tactical skill than the other leaders.
The hoodie over a dress shirt is cool and his eyes and fangs are fricking intense, but the rest is just plain uninteresting to me. tbh I respect how seriously he takes the gym leader job but the fact that they made an Instagram-star Character in Pokémon just seems utterly dumb.
@Merciless Freak Who's your favorite gym leader then. You've been hating of Piers, you seem to be hating on Raihan by saying he looks like a Hobo(how?). So who is YOUR favorite. Or are you just a troll?
1 Piers(Dynamax doesn't make a gym battle memorable, especially when you spend a lot of time in the wild area) 2 Melony(She caked like a bakery hhhh) 3 Raihan 4 Kabu 5 Bea 6 Nessa 7 Gordie 8 Allister 9 Opal 10 Milo(Freak baby faced bodybuilding monster, gross) The gym leaders in previous games rarely ever talk to you. The last time I remember any of them participating in your trainer life was in HGSS, when they'd challenge you in the dojo in Saffron.
I had a hard time fighting Bea. I only won because I got a Galarian Rapidash from Surprise Trade that was so high-leveled that he didn't listen to me all the time.
1. What do you mean Gordie isn't cool? He does a backflip before throwing out his first Pokemon! 2. It's stated in the game that Spikemuth has no power spot to dynamax, which is why the town got so abandoned. Piers is trying to get people fired up for battles without dynamaxing so more people come to Spikemuth and revitalize the town
1) Bea was the hardest gym leader for me in my first Sword playthrough (now taken by a tie between Kabu and Opal) 2) Piers is so underrated! He is so cool!! 3) I think Raiham should have been a Ground-Type Leader with a G-Max Sandaconda
I actually like Gordie. He uses a Coalossal so he gets points there for me. I also feel like he does actually look cool, especially when he dances during the battle (relatable). I do wish we could have seen more from some gym leaders like bea, allister, gordie and Melony. Nevertheless, I think all the gym leaders are cool
0:21 *who said Ball Guy was lesser?* Also I have this joke in my head that I use to explain why Raihan doesn't have a full dragon team and I just say it's because (in shield) he loses the type matchup against two of the gym leaders if he had all dragons. Also Melony is best girl Also I'd put Piers higher
Personally, I put Piers at the top, he's a guy who always helps out, he is the first and only dark type gym leader which was something I always wanted, he's generally a nice guy, and even though he doesn't dynamax his Pokemon it shows he has principles and is chivalrous
@@MarkeishaNilesTTan I mean you do fight her later in the game after gym leaders like kabu bea and her son gordie, all gym leaders who use types of pokemon who do super effective damage against ice plus ice is a horrible defensive type. So i'll say it's 70% skill and 30% type match up is why she can beat him
Maybe, but Raihan kicked EVERYONE else’s ass in Galar ‘cept Leon. I don’t think Melony can boast that against someone like Kabu, or maybe even her own son, Gordie.
Here's my top 10 faves, please note that I'm extremely biased: 10- Bea. Her design is cute. Her episode in Pokemon Twilight Wings is really amazing. But we're talking about the games here. I've only played Shield, but Pokemon Sword players don't seem to have anything to say about her other than the fact that she's hardworking and cute and that makes her waifu. I mean, I'm clearly a hypocrite here, I put Nessa way higher than she actually deserves, but I think it's because I didn't really manage to get attached to her character, and her Shield counterpart has the better design, aesthetic, team and specializes in a type I like more, so I am extremely biased in her being my least favorite. 9- Gordie. How is he above Bea? Well, it's just how he's trying his best to be cool and fails but that's kinda cute at the same time? I don't have much to say, I only played Shield, like I said. His personality just stood out to me more. 8- Kabu. Has hands down the best gym challenge in the game. It's fun, it's interesting, we need more stuff like this. I really love his backstory and he's very cool but I picked Sobble so I wiped his team even faster than I did Milo's team so I personally found his gym battle very disappointing. 7- Raihan. Look, like I said, I love every single gym leader in SW/SH, so him not being higher isn't me not liking him but rather me liking other characters more. His gym battle wa actually challenging compared to most, and he has a fun personality. I love how he takes a selfie before gigantamaxing Duraludon, it's so funny and a nice touch for his character. 6- Milo. I love his personality. He just loves Pokemon and is so gentle and kind even though he's so buff. His design is super cute, his challenge is simple but fun, and he's just trying his best and it's very sweet in my eyes. 5- Nessa. Okay, this is some extreme bias, but can you blame me? She's a gym leader and a model, she has a fun challenge for her gym, she has this friendship with Sonia that makes me kinda curious to be honest, but let's be real the main reason I like her is because she's very pretty and I'm pretty gay. 4- Opal. She is so weird and it's just so funny to me. She has an interesting background, she's fun to speculate on, and I love how she took Bede under her wing just because he shares her passion for the color pink. I love this wacky old lady. 3- Melony. Now, say it with me: ICE MILF. She's great, I love her personality, her gym challenge was the good kind of annoying, and damn I love this gal. There isn't much to say here besides "I'm gay and that's that." 2- Piers. Edgy guys are my weakness in anime and video games, I could end it there, but there's more to it than that. He's prideful, he won't dynamax even if he can because he likes the authentic battles and that is extremely cool to me. He cares for his younger sister and tries his best to be a role model and that's really sweet. 1- Allister. He is a ghost child with an interesting story and I adore his design so much. I love how he's really shy and even the way he speaks is kinda ghostly. Also, he's literally what would happen if Shuichi Saihara from the Danganronpa series had a kid with a Shy Guy from the Mario universe and that's definitely bias fuel. Special mention to Bede, my favorite character in the game, who technically is a gym leader.
I don't think Piers was a bad gym leader. He was the second toughest to me. I had gotten so used to Dynamaxing that to suddenly not have it made the battle trickier as I readjusted to how a gym leader operates. Plus, him not Dynamaxing allows him to make use of the Dark type's specialties in their moves' side effects. His battle was more like a cage match and I loved it.
What do you mean Piers is one of the worst? He's a protective older brother and the setting of the gym shouldn't matter in this. Piers isn't Spikemuth as a whole, and who cares that he doesn't dynamax? It's because 1.) Spikemuth doesn't have a Power Spot and 2.) He views it as wrong to do to Pokemon. He was meant to kind of personify the Dark types , and he does a great job. I know this is just an opinion, but some of the reasons you gave don't back up the opinion at all... such as the town being why he's one of the worst...
Hey Mystic you said Piers's town looks boring but it is really supposed to looks like that because Spikemuth is almost dead town. Also it is interesting that Piers's Scrafty and Malamar have the hidden ability, though Malamar's moveset doesn't really help Contrary
Piers is definitely one of the best for me. The fact that he doesn't dynamax is sooo refreshing. X and Y introduced mega evolution, Sun and Moon had the Z moves, and then dynamaxing in sword and shield. It's refreshing to have a traditional battle without all the fancy stuff
Unpopular opinion: Raihan is in my bottom 5, I don’t really like his personality because I don’t like Instagram in general, and the double battle format isn’t very “wow” to me, and his team doesn’t make sense for a dragon type gym leader. HALF his team isn’t even dragon type. I like his G Max duraladon and flygon but that’s about it for what I like about Raihan
Raihan doesn't just use Dragon types he also utilizes weather conditions that's half of his team in his gym battle weren't dragon types. They were for weather conditions. His team was split 50/50 based on the type of trainer he is. Two for weather conditions and two dragon types. Even then most of his team in the champion cup were of the dragon type. He's the trainer he says he is.
If they wanted to push kids/new players into competitive, they’d employ a EV/IV Manipulating System that allows you to personally distribute the EV’s your Pokemon Earns as it levels up(Like The xenoverse stat distribution but for like Pokemon and its only their EV’s/IV’s.)
Piers is my favourite because he reminds me of my older brother, who is a guitarist and has a band with his friends. Piers' younger sister is a Pokemon trainer, and my brother's younger sister (me) is also a Pokemon trainer. I'm not very good at going into detail about why I like something, but I like Piers
I don’t wanna argue here but here are some things I like about Gordie: 1) Personality: Yes he seems douchey but mix that with a fun-loving personality and you have good character 2) His clothes: i want that suit man it looks so good omfg 3) Something that some people know about... he’s an older brother too! To FOUR younger siblings (3 being toddlers) so it seems like he would be worried if he was in Piers’ shoes as well!
Problems in the video: In the brackets for sword and shield in the story mode, piers always beats kabu and can hold his own against Raihan. plus kabu, Nessa, and milo are supposed to be be pretty even in strength so I think it’s safe to say that Piers is stronger than them too. In Shield Alister always beats Melony in the story mode brackets so he should be a lot higher because he was able to beat someone with a lot more experience than him
I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed the gym leaders. While they might not have been good challenge-wise (seriously, the totem pokemon and island kahunas from Sun and Moon were harder than them) I liked the fact that we got to interact with them more, and that they had their own individual personalities. It made them more likable. That said, I do agree with Raihan being the best. I love his battling style of not only using dragon types, but also building a team/battle style of manipulating the weather. Not only that, Duraladon is probably the ONLY dragon type pokemon in the entire franchise not weak to dragon, fairy, or ice types.
Kabu second highest on the list as it should be lol. He's my absolute favorite out of all the Sword/Shield Gym Leaders. This generation's Gym Leaders were all really great and memorable characters. I wish we could see more of them!! (Also it hurt to see Piers ranked so low lol. I thought he was definitely one of the better gym leaders character-wise.)
My favorites can't be ranked, but here are some that I liked: Melony. I like her design, and ice types. She gave me a challenge with Lapras. Kaba. Not one of my favorites, but I only beat him because of my Alcreamie's Sweet Kiss and my Boltund's Nuzzle. I also got one of my favorite Pokemon I have, my Ninetales, from his gym challenge. Nice. Allister. First gym leader I lost to, so I could tell he was strong. Piers. I really like how he helps you in the post-game, witch is actually one of my favorite parts of the game. Easy, though. As I had a Ribombee. Nessa. I really liked her gym challenge. Opal. The oldest gym leader, and very challenging.
Piers is my personal favorite because he got his own unique gym battle music, the "gym" had a really cool aesthetic (even if I wish it had been a full town with that dark neon look), and his general look and personality was interesting. I liked how he supported his sister, who I didn't really care for as a character but still, he was a good big brother and I respect that. I do wish they could have had some kind of spoken lyrics tho, as it made his "singing" kinda cringey. But overall, he was my favorite and glad we finally got a dark gym. I actually thought he was MORE challenging than most of the others even without Dynamaxing. Even being about ten levels higher than him, his Obstagoon managed to be tricky.
Piers to me is easily the best. He’s a very layered character and even joins you in the post game. I like his reasoning for refusing to dynamax his Pokemon. Kabu is probably my second favorite. Fire eyes, nuff said.
@Destructive_Goddess They don't get on that well because Gordie wants to stand on his own merits, and not in her shadow. It's basically just a Gordie thing.
My ranking: 10. *Gordie* 9. *Milo* 8. *Kabu* 7. *Melony* 6. *Allister* 5. *Bea* 4. *Nessa* 3. *Piers* 2. *Raihan* 1. *Opal* Overall a really solid lineup of Gym Leaders, probably the best in the series aside from the Unova leaders.
Piers is actually my favorite. The fact he doesn’t dynamax makes him much more different then the rest. His design is very nice and fits with the dark type theme. Plus, I really like the whole concept of team yell and how his sister is Marnie. Just gonna say in my opinion, Piers is 100 times better than Raihan.
Him not dynamaxing makes him a lot like gym leaders of the past. It's nothing special tbh. People blow it up since Dynamaxing is big in Galar. Hence why Mystic probably put him so low, he doesn't really stand out that much by not dynamaxing. What truly makes him stand out imo is him being the first dark type gym leader. Idk why people blow up the fact thay he doesn't dynamax. It's nothing huge really. Now him almost beating Raihan without dynamaxing is huge, but at the end of the day he's shooting himself in the foot since he's gonna be at a disadvantage by not dynamaxing. Of course he couldn't in his own city
With milo i think you have overlooked his bio in his trainer card that stares why he is the first gym leader, why his team is weak and why he doesny gigantamax. It states that he doesnt like going all out against weaker opponents. I feel that makes him more interesting than some gym leaders
I'm one of the few people who agrees with you and don't really like Piers. I can understand why people like him, but that mime concert just rubbed me the wrong way and I can't look past it. His design is pretty cool and he has a great personality, but it's just not enough for me to put him above most of the other gym trainers. I think that just proves how amazing the whole cast of gym trainers actually is. I'm also glad to see Kabu being so high up in the list. I think his backstory is amazing, and so is the fight against him. It's miles ahead of the two first gyms in term of difficulty. He's the only one of them who managed to make one of my pokemon faint, and the only gym trainer other than Raihan to accomplish that. Also, the way he just jogs next to you, fully focused, on your way to the field is kind of adorable. I wish I could put Nessa high because she is best waifu and I love her, but her pokemon are way too easy to deal with. I'd still put her slightly higher than you did just because I'm completely biased.
MysticUmbreon looking at how you didn't go over rematches in the league tournament mean you put little to no effort ranking these gym leaders if you did go over rematches you'd see their teams are different and would have significantly different opinions on most of these rankings
Piers is the best BECAUSE he doesn’t dynamax. He gave his little sister a fan base and he’s kept his run down gym going without any fancy gimmicks like the others. Plus he almost beat Raihan during the tournament at the end WITHOUT dynamaxing. Lets not forget his personal gym theme is amazing!
When piers decided to help us and then team yell tagged along, I don’t think we’ve ever gotten anything like that before. I loved piers.
Definitely worth the wait for a dark type gym leader
Not to mention he's the first Dark gym leader! He's amazing
He is my favourite gym leader out of all the regions. His design and personality is so good. And his theme is awesome

LatinGuido817 me too
I would expect Piers being high in the list possibly in the top 3, since you made a video talking about how there’s no dark gyms before SW/SH and that you wanted one.
Me: I really like Kabu. I don't know why.
"Kabu was originally from the Hoenn region"
Me: Ahh, that's why.
PIERS IS ONE OF THE BEST GYM LEADERS EVER GODDAMMIT
Edit: WOAH 48 likes, thanks.
@Merciless Freak In what way based on how you are acting you mashed A and did not even read the dialogue of anyone so well you complain how weak he is by overleveling your team others actualy look at Piers by not just how OP he is
Actually , when I was playing a flying mono ,I fight him on a 4 v 4 in gym challenge, and I put away my togekiss to make it even , so my team was rufflet, noibat , gyrados, and corviknight , all the Pokémon is the same level as him
To make the story short , his scrafty one-shot my rufflet and noibat , then my gyrados and corviknight get defeated by obsagoon with brute force and prediction.
He’s harder than Leon if you fight even
@Merciless Freak Well it is nice to see people share their opinions, no matter how dumb it is
@Merciless Freak Tell me, what makes him lame? And maaaaaaybe I will agree with you.
Ouchie. Piers is such a strong character, this is one of the most controversial decisions I think. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion but like... ouch, Piers is freakin’ awesome and the best older brother and just the sweetest guy ever
@Merciless Freak do u not have a life for commenting on every single piers comment
Ahhhh another fellow opal fan!!!
Yep, plus her favourite colour is purple and her quizzes while giving her opponents a massive edge if they get it right and thus makes her far easier on repeat attempts. Love her as a character and a gym leader. Although I did steamroll her.
I’m a bit surprised Piers isn’t more popular than he is considering the fact that he’s the first ever Dark-type gym leader.
I think it's because everyone's busy gushing about Raihan and Leon ^.^"
K.A.R.M. Productions Probably
Piers is pretty popular.
Well according to the comment section I think he’s pretty popular
Raihan is cute, but Piers is a top favorite for me. His relationship with Marnie is adorable and I think he’s really cute and handsome. I’m just a sucker for emo boys though
The reason Piers doesn’t dynamax is because you can fight him the way you should, him being the first dark type gym leader
*Sees you put my favorite character at second lowest*
Me: We May have different opinions, but I respect you either way
Ball guy needs his own gym

Neutralizing Gas makes his battle a cake walk
I one shot all his mons wit my Zac Efron or Perserrker (i dont even know if i spelt dat right eee)
It took the combined effort of my Abomasnow, Corviknight, and Bewear to earn my Dragon badge.
Piers is **NOT** the second lowest. How dare you.
wow one person says hes bad well you can't please everyone
@Merciless Freak how dare you
@Merciless Freak PROVE YOUR POINT YOU MERCILESS FREAK. Oh wait, that's your name.
To me Piers is the best because he doesn't dynamax ! That makes him so different comparing the others !
And also he is the one who helps us the most ( and his personality
@Merciless Freak I don't think he acts like a child, moreover it is not like he could use dynamax and chose to not use it, it is not possible in his town
And out of his town yes he chose to not use it, well he can, I don't really use it neither
I find him pretty " mature " in the game, there is worst than him ( in my opinion for example, Leon is not mature at all :/)
Merciless Freak Isn’t Dynamax painful? I hear that from my friend, but I haven’t finished the game yet.
Merciless Freak Ironic, coming from you
I don't listen to freaks like you!
Point being: Milo is my husband.
He is mine! He is so hot! Even better than Raihan! Totally my type!
Always good to see Milo getting love ^.^
Me personally, Piers is best.
I have a friend that has a thing for bears that loves Milo too. This comment reminds me of him.
Piers is the best gym leader with the most character development, unless you count Bede
Merciless Freak He did though, in the story after the main game he has a lot of development and indirectly helps Hop
@Merciless Freak wym he had alot
Nice to see someone appreciates Melony as a character, and not just for her looks
Piers is amazing one of my fav characters.

Raihan is definitely my favorite. He's the hottest one.
Gigifabulous thats nessa
I mean 🥴🥴
Agreed
Don't remind me
Bro the hottest one is actually opal
There's a very simple reason why Raihan is the best boi.
*_HAVE YOU SEEN HIS CHARACTER DESIGN?!_* lol
He calls his Gym Trainers by name, which is nice of him.
The hoodie over a dress shirt is cool and his eyes and fangs are fricking intense, but the rest is just plain uninteresting to me.
tbh I respect how seriously he takes the gym leader job but the fact that they made an Instagram-star Character in Pokémon just seems utterly dumb.
@Merciless Freak stop trying to ruin peoples day -_-
@Merciless Freak Who's your favorite gym leader then. You've been hating of Piers, you seem to be hating on Raihan by saying he looks like a Hobo(how?). So who is YOUR favorite. Or are you just a troll?
@@arlen7726 Overall, Raihan is a pretty cool guy imo. Elesa is a supermodel, so I think it would be cool if there was a collaboration between the two.
1 Piers(Dynamax doesn't make a gym battle memorable, especially when you spend a lot of time in the wild area)
2 Melony(She caked like a bakery hhhh)
3 Raihan
4 Kabu
5 Bea
6 Nessa
7 Gordie
8 Allister
9 Opal
10 Milo(Freak baby faced bodybuilding monster, gross)
The gym leaders in previous games rarely ever talk to you.
Mama Melony holds the place in my heart
Edit: But big brother Piers always is watching for his little sis... that’s why I love him
fr
My boy Piers got shafted in this review. Seriously, how could he be placed lower than Gordie? T.T
Me: *seeing Milo and gordie at the bottom* ok ok fair enough... BUT MY BOYS-
When gordie does a backflip before sending out his Pokémon: This weird guy doing this list: Hmmmm I don’t remember that...
Raihan kinda looks like a humanized sidon from the legend of zelda
Does anyone realise Nessa ditched her old Drednaw for the champion cup
1) Bea was the hardest gym leader for me in my first Sword playthrough (now taken by a tie between Kabu and Opal)
2) Piers is so underrated! He is so cool!!
3) I think Raiham should have been a Ground-Type Leader with a G-Max Sandaconda
For me kabu was the hardest
I feel your pain I mostly use dark types Bea was a nightmare
"He's the only gym leader that doesn't dynamax his pokemon making him one of the easier opponents to deal with" tell that to my level 80 seismitoad
Milo looks like mirio togata. Thats it.
I'd love to see a crossover of those two interacting ^.^
He is noseless
@@jessicajackson3788 lmao true
You honestly might need to double check Piers' actions in the Sword & Shield lore, tbh.
I'm glad we can collectively agree that Piers deserved a higher ranking.
0:21 *who said Ball Guy was lesser?*
Also I have this joke in my head that I use to explain why Raihan doesn't have a full dragon team and I just say it's because (in shield) he loses the type matchup against two of the gym leaders if he had all dragons.
Also Melony is best girl
Also I'd put Piers higher
and also imagine him having 2 more dragons
@@trent800 *imagine him with dracovish and a tailwind mon*
Personally, I put Piers at the top, he's a guy who always helps out, he is the first and only dark type gym leader which was something I always wanted, he's generally a nice guy, and even though he doesn't dynamax his Pokemon it shows he has principles and is chivalrous
Allister is my favorite gym leader of all time. HES SO CUTE! And he’s literally the same age as me.
So if Melony never lost a match to Raihan doesn't that mean she's the strongest out of all the gym leaders and not raihan
Ummm...pretty much yeah but that means Melony should of been the last. Ok that doesn’t make sense
Probably bc of type matchups, raihan is weak to melony being a ice type leafer
Niles Tan What about Duruladon he isn’t weak to ice
@@MarkeishaNilesTTan I mean you do fight her later in the game after gym leaders like kabu bea and her son gordie, all gym leaders who use types of pokemon who do super effective damage against ice plus ice is a horrible defensive type. So i'll say it's 70% skill and 30% type match up is why she can beat him
Maybe, but Raihan kicked EVERYONE else’s ass in Galar ‘cept Leon. I don’t think Melony can boast that against someone like Kabu, or maybe even her own son, Gordie.
Here's my top 10 faves, please note that I'm extremely biased:
10- Bea.
There isn't much to say here besides "I'm gay and that's that."
2- Piers.
12 Gym leaders, if you count Bede and Marnie MysticUmbreon.
XD
hi
I don't think Piers was a bad gym leader. He was the second toughest to me. I had gotten so used to Dynamaxing that to suddenly not have it made the battle trickier as I readjusted to how a gym leader operates. Plus, him not Dynamaxing allows him to make use of the Dark type's specialties in their moves' side effects. His battle was more like a cage match and I loved it.
Still waiting on the Sword and Shield husbando vid. Lol good vid though man.
@まふゆYuzuki Yesss, its always nice seeing new fans like me. Hope you enjoyed it!
まふゆYuzuki good luck in the 3am chatrooms
まふゆYuzuki Yeah, I would just do them the next morning cause I tried doing something similar. I wasn’t alive enough to do them lol.
Same here. I have seen a lot of videos focusing on the poke girls but not many for the poke guys.
Excuse me, but what do you mean by the husbando vid? Will mystic be ranking the boys by their husbando qualities?
I love how everybody in the comment are mad at where Piers is on this list. But my boy Kabu deserve to be 1#
Everyone in the comment sections mad because of Piers, but I'm over here in tears over precious Milo! He's so cute! 😥🤩
Gordie is so criminally underrated idc what everyone else says
Gordie gets overshadowed by his “thicc” mother. Bea,Milo and Kapu are incredibly underrated
C'mon Mystic! We know u like Melony more than Gordie cuz she's a THICCCCC BADDIE
I have a theory: Gordie is BlingBlingBoy from Johnny Test grown up.
Mind-Blown! 🤯
"I'm not talking about the more minor NPCs"
"I'm talking about the ball guy"
ball guy is not minor how dare you disrespect him like that
Quamai the Doodler How do you know Ball Guy is a male?
@@kpbevan_904 You got me there...
I don’t wanna argue here but here are some things I like about Gordie:
1) Personality: Yes he seems douchey but mix that with a fun-loving personality and you have good character
2) His clothes: i want that suit man it looks so good omfg
3) Something that some people know about... he’s an older brother too! To FOUR younger siblings (3 being toddlers) so it seems like he would be worried if he was in Piers’ shoes as well!
Problems in the video:
In the brackets for sword and shield in the story mode, piers always beats kabu and can hold his own against Raihan. plus kabu, Nessa, and milo are supposed to be be pretty even in strength so I think it’s safe to say that Piers is stronger than them too.
In Shield Alister always beats Melony in the story mode brackets so he should be a lot higher because he was able to beat someone with a lot more experience than him
The Worst Gym Leader: Raihan
The *Coolest* Gym Leader: Piers
THE BEST GYM LEADER: Bede
I do not agree with Piers being that low in the list 👏🏽
@Merciless Freak nah
You really had the audacity to rank Piers as the second lowest gym leader.
TBH when Piers went off about going against Raihan without dynamaxing I made it a goal to beat him without dynamaxing and had no trouble with it
MysticUmbreon: *puts Milo and Piers on the bottom of the list*
me: say sike right now
I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed the gym leaders.
Am I the only one who thinks Gigalith and Duraludon look kinda similar?
Piers doesn't use dynamax because he like mega evolution
My favorites can't be ranked, but here are some that I liked:
Melony.
By you like her design you mean she *T H I C C*
Kabu is my favorite gym leader and was the first gym leader that took me multiple attempts that scentiscorch was a nightmare
Unpopular opinion: Gordie was my favorite gym leader in this game, also I agree with your decision on Piers.
your daily dose of tea Same here Gordie,Bea and Kapu are my all a win in my book.
Melony is DEFINITELY the best.
Thicc
Piers to me is easily the best. He’s a very layered character and even joins you in the post game. I like his reasoning for refusing to dynamax his Pokemon.
Kabu is probably my second favorite. Fire eyes, nuff said.
5:26
What?
I thought they were brother and sister
Omfg what is my life
*lmao*
You apreciate the good things in life: Motherhood, emotional support, kindness, and last but not the least, that sweet sweet THICCNESS
@Destructive_Goddess They don't get on that well because Gordie wants to stand on his own merits, and not in her shadow. It's basically just a Gordie thing.
My ranking:
10. *Gordie*
9. *Milo*
8. *Kabu*
7. *Melony*
6. *Allister*
5. *Bea*
4. *Nessa*
3. *Piers*
2. *Raihan*
1. *Opal*
Overall a really solid lineup of Gym Leaders, probably the best in the series aside from the Unova leaders.
Peirs, Allister, Milo, Nessa and Melony are my top 5
I like Piers XD
With milo i think you have overlooked his bio in his trainer card that stares why he is the first gym leader, why his team is weak and why he doesny gigantamax. It states that he doesnt like going all out against weaker opponents. I feel that makes him more interesting than some gym leaders
YO! Piers is my boy
