Are we all just going to ignore that Dr. Orpheus is the kindest man on the goddamn planet? Of all the expensive or important things he could have saved, he saved Mr. Reachy, a dumb childish thing that he knew a struggling Dean still cared about.

I think it was mostly just to set up a bait and switch where we think he's about to reveal he saved Jonas Jr's life.
This is one of my favourite Venture Brothers jokes because it’s layered. JJ wanted Crash Test Dummies song ‘At My Funeral’ played. So it would be phrased “play Crash Test Dummies At My Funeral” but the song is too much of a deep cut so Pirate captain assumes he wants their one hit instead ‘Mmm mmm mmm mmm’
I legit didn't know that was an actual song. I just assumed this was something The Captain did for his fallen shipmates

I like how it was Rusty’s one act of kindness not to kill JJ back in season one that allows him to finally get what he want.
Admittedly Rusty has more acts of kindness, but that was his first one one on the series. The man has also a soft spot for his family
And in the end, Rusty learned from Jonas Sr.'s mistakes. Which, ironically, came back to turn Jonas Sr. into the guy from One by Metallica for over twenty years.

The Crash Test Dummies joke is such a left field reference it still makes me laugh eight years after seeing it for the first time. Especially when H.E.L.P.e.R. quietly wheels in for the drum track.

Venture Brothers is probably that one in a million extremely rare show that went on and never lost quality because sooner or later every good show goes to shit you can't keep a good act going forever but Venture Brothers found a way somehow they beat the odds that usually kills every other show
I feel like that comes from them not having a long term plan like most shows do, where they try and tell a cohesive, single grand story over 3-5 seasons. VB seems like they kinda just wing it and run with dumb bit hilarious ideas and let things progress organically.
Michael Erler yeah more along the lines of an older style cartoon using the day to day self contained storyline than true episodic storytelling
@@LexIconLS I disagree, I think VB's overarching plots are actually very consistent. The kind of improvisational style you're describing is more something they do in Rick and Morty.
@@LexIconLS except The Monarch being a Venture Bro, that was sprinkled throughout the show when you rewatch.
I think it's mainly due to the fact that the story is constantly moving forward. Characters are always doing something, the plot of the series is always almost always progressing in one way or another. Even if there are episodes that don't directly progress the plot, the characters still grow and change from those episodes and new concepts are introduced. It's hard for a series like that to become stale because nothing has time to become stale.
It was hilarious when the Monarch spazzed out over getting a seat on the council, and Dr. Killinger just went: "Not you."
But it'd be awesome, and incredibly insane considering the things he would possibly attempt to pass to get to Rusty

This is honestly my new favorite episode of Venture Bros. Everything in this episode was just full of action, drama, twist and turns. I was also surprised on how many characters died tonight and how they where able to fit so much story into one episode. I'm also really gonna miss Venture JR. He was one my favorites. BRING ON SEASON 6!!!

Yeah, some things seem to be missing from the version on Hulu. I don't remember seeing the scene of alternate dimension Rusty kicking the other Rusty out of his dimension. And I thought I just missed it.

Was very confused and youtubed 'jonas venture jr funeral'
This was the greatest Venture Bros. episode I've ever fucking seen, and that's saying a lot. So many characters died, so much ass was kicked, and this video only leaves me wanting so much more. Goddamn, season six needs to come as soon as possible! This show is my life!
After hearing about the show's cancellation, I feel this is the only way to say goodbye to a series as great as the Venture Bros.

So Rusty finally got cut some slack by the powers that be. That's good, I guess. His life has been filled to the brim with so much suck that it's nice to see him not get dumped on by the universe for once.
I hope Brock returns as the Venture bodyguard, since Rusty is now the head of one of the most important scientific companies in the world, now.
OckhamAsylum This isn't the first time it happened. He also got stinking rich when his father died, and proceeded to squander his entire fortune. He is likely to do the same for Jonas Jr's fortune. Rusty is just gonna sit back and sip his moco-cooler while blowing the millions away.

OckhamAsylum Eh... I don't recall Rusty doing anything particularly worthy of success. His own failures are brought on by his own inadequacies and flaws which is a far more fitting end than anything else. Yes, it does evoke pity but it is definitely not deserving of the riches Jonas Jr. brought him. I like to see him redeem himself through his own effort and keep his new found wealth, but knowing how this show is... I highly doubt he'll get either a redemption or a happy ending.
The attention to detail? Impeccable. I remember pausing the screen on different episodes to compare the clearance level of Race Bannon VS Brock Samson. Though I know in the back of my mind that there will only be a finite amount of Venture Brothers to be had, I wish it could go on forever.
Absolutely amazing. Both the episode and this epilogue. I still love this show as much, if not more, than I did in the beginning. Can't wait for the season to start.

In the episode where Dean finds out he's a clone, they mention Teratoma (tumors with hair and teeth) as being a symptom of excessive cloning. JJ might've been living inside him BECAUSE he was a clone
Cloning mishaps, like ugly Dean. It's even mentioned that the male pattern baldness and pronounced nose are also potential clone defects, implying that that's why Rusty went bald and why Monarch's nose is so long, and also implying that Monarch is a straight up clone too
I like to think that Jonas Sr. knew that JJ was inside Rusty and also cloned JJ as well but kept him in there as some sort of devilish science experiment.
That was an epic epusode. Hopefully the rest of the season delivers.

This was a big win for The Monarch. Burning his logo into the lawn resulted in the whole compound burning down.
This was the best Venture brothers episode but the epilogue made it so much more. Can't wait to see what goes wrong in season VI.

The joke is that Crash Test Dummies have a song called "At My Funeral" and Pirate Captain misunderstood or just didn't know the song so he played their most famous song.

Oh man I am so glad I recorded the episode on my dvr. There was no way I would be able to stay awake at midnight watching it. This has got to be the best episode ever. It was sad that a lot of the characters was killed off. I had a feeling the investors was behind everything. That bit with the lightsabers was awesome. But finally they got rid of them. I hope season 6 will come soon and not later in the summer cause this is my favorite show. I can't wait :D

Based off of what Killinger said and a little readingon other sites "Every person in the is room is a memeber of the new council except Monarch. So I think its

That leaves 6 spots seven if killinger is the new Sovereign but since he took a seat maybe he wants to do away with the idea of it. Guess well have to wait for the rest of the season to see who else joins.
I'm wondering if Phage will still keep his spot seeing that other than Dr.Mrs The Monarch he's the only other surviving member of the Council of 13. Not including Dr.Z Dragoon and Red Mantle.
I think the other spots will be filled by phage and the ventures ie Doc, Hank Dean and Dermot since they are technically desendants of the original guild.
drsyadams People keep assuming Killinger is going to be the new sovereign, but that would go against everything he had been saying. He's only there to guide them onto the "right path". It would make more sense for Phantom Limb or more likely Dr. Mrs to be the new leader.
You're assuming that Killinger is even a person. He and the investors seemed more like some kind of demons to me

I just fell face first into this show, talking about 2 months ago. It’s already the only cartoon to ever rival SP which has been #1 forever.... but this show. There is something special here. These guys check every box there is for what you can want from entertainment. They have the balls to age their characters . It may not seem much, but Bart is still 10 and the SP boys are in 5th grade.... I think. Just saying. I just got hyped for a old promo of a season I have watched 3 times now. Lol between this and The Expanse I forgot about the lack of NHL Playoffs. :(. You guys rock thank you

Anyone else with me on my theory that Dr Killinger is Force Majeur? He knew about the Sovereign's plan, and did nothing to stop him from getting rid of the "expendable" Councilmembers. The plan was clearly already in motion, as The Investors (Caecius, Skiron, and Lips; super pumped they have (ahem, had) names) took care of Monstroso (since he knew too much) and the Clue Clown (RIP, Boggles) back toward the very end of season 5. Then the Sovereign took out all but Phage and Dr Mrs The Monarch, despite his best efforts (or "destiny" as I'm sure Killinger would call it). Killinger clearly has a vested interest in keeping the Guild alive and reforming the Council of Thirteen with himself in a leadership role; the new Sovereign. His brothers, the Investors, seemingly ran the Guild with or without "Bowie"'s consent. So they all seem perfectly familiar with the way it's run. And furthermore, Killinger (and the Investors, but only them) knew where Meteor Majeur, Force Majeur's old personal hideout, was.
tl;dr The whole plan was started by the Sovereign and The Investors to destroy the Guild. Killinger knew about it; but, rather than stopping the plan, played it perfectly (in that way he always does) to build a brand new Guild from scratch and reclaim his former title. After all, the now (probably) dead Sovereign said that Force Majeur died, and that's how he was named Sovereign; but clearly normal means can't kill whatever those four are* anyway (inexplicable lightsabers notwithstanding).
*I got curious and looked up the origins of The Investors names. They're named after the "Anemoi" from Greek myhology. Four gods or godlike beings that represent the four cardinal directions of wind. They're good guys. But there are four evil, demonic Anemoi as well that represent the four secondary directions, three of which are the names of The Investors. The fourth, which I don't recall offhand, is what I'm assuming is Dr Kilinger's "real" name (despite Caecius still calling him "Killinger" to his face).
Or I'm just rambling, sleep-deprived, and have way too much time to think about a cartoon I get way too hyped about. Super rad episode regardless.
I was thinking crossroad demons for the longest with the investors now i'm not sure but i don't think killinger will lead the guild i think his plan is still far from being complete or maybe the ORB is going to come back as well i highly doubt they are done with that story line

I hope the level of excellence is maintained throughout the season. From Bowie to Blade Runner references this is a show I would not have been able to fully enjoy had I not been on this earth for a certain amount of time (and if I may say so, well versed in the pop culture and music of the past).
I was only 13 when it originally aired in 03 and was far to young to comprehend or appreciate the many layers of satire, though knowing original trilogy by memmory still let me enjoy every hidden star wars quote.
