    That looks so white your base batter recipe, and i love how fun and light hearted these are. I have some soap shavings saved and you've just given me the inspiration to finally make a confetti soap. x thanks for the video Holly!

    I want to tell you that you are an inspiration to all of us who want to create handmade soaps. The love and passion that you show when creating your works deeply inspire me. Although there were some air bubbles, today's soap was very beautiful. Thank you, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for sharing your beautiful works of art made of soap.

    That's a very neat technique and a great way to use up bars that are just sitting around or didn't turn out the color you liked.

    Holly, your work is amazing. It is so clean, so structured - from the way you make your soap to the way you present your videos and every time you get a distinct result so all of your videos are worth watching.

    Smooooth ! Putting the soap in the fridge helps the white color to stay ? I didn’t know that ! Doesn’t this stop the saponification or something ?

  • @terry_679

    So pretty. Maybe you could try tapping the cup on the table(after adding the shreds) before adding to the mold to help in releasing air bubbles ? I'm going to try this when I make mine.

    I remember when I was 9-10 and I used to help my mom make soap. I didn’t f with the lye. I just helped measure stuff and made patterns. I made my first soap when I was 13. It was M+P but I still suited up like you would if it was CP

    Did you just use the soap pieces within your regular soap recipe or did you have to adjust weight? Thank you! I have some soap pieces to use and wasn't sure if I could just throw them in my regular 10 bar soap recipe!

    • @hollysoapmaking
      @hollysoapmaking  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For this confetti soap, I just kept my regular recipe because I wanted to have leftover soap for some small sample guest molds. I made another confetti/embed batch where I reduced the recipe by 100g to account for the weight of the embeds (they weighed about 100g), and that worked out well with no leftover soap. Hope this helps! :)

    so beautiful. thanks. did you use kaolin to make your soap white?

    • @hollysoapmaking
      @hollysoapmaking  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! I did use white kaolin clay to help make it whiter, but I’m not really sure it helps. BrambleBerry seems to make the whitest I can find, while other brands seem a bit gray. I think what actually made the difference in this soap was using a very light colored olive oil and not allowing the soap to gel by putting it in the fridge. I tried this recipe last week with no clay and still got a really white soap. Thanks for asking! :)

  • @docsava
    @docsava 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks great! I tried it but even after a week in the mold the soap is still sticky wet (only 24 hours in the fridge).

    Two opposable thumbs up!!! (Four if I had them...)
    Confetti soap is so much less of an energy hog than rebatching. Wish the soap guilds as well as Google would altogether banish the word "rebatch."
    I would add that a little more water and a smaller ratio of solid-to-liquid oils in the fresh portion of the batch can help reduce failures, especially if the shreds have fragrance oils that tend to contribute to soap seize more readily.
    Thank you!!!
    Earth First - as it's unrealistic to believe humans are smart enough or exist long enough to make it to another planet...

    Love it! So pretty! Is there any benefit in longevity of scent when you mix EOs in with clay? Also, wondering where you got the wire soap cutter. I’m new to soap making. Thank you! I always get excited when I see your videos post! ✨😀✨

    • @hollysoapmaking
      @hollysoapmaking  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Some say it helps the scent stick others not so much. I’m really not sure. :) It’s just what I usually do. The clay seems to blend quicker when mixed with a fluid first, so I just toss it in my EOs or mix it with water if an unscented soap. The wire cutter is made by Bud Haffner on Etsy. It’s awesome and has lasted so long. Thanks for watching and good luck with your soap making! -Holly

    Its been 4 weeks since i made a batch of soap( 50% hard oil 50% soft oils) but after using it and putting it in the soap tray it starts giving sticky liquid out of the area that is in contact with the soap tray
    What am i doing wrong?

      Thank you! No, just the name of our old family farm. Greek friends translated Some Day to Kapia Mera for them decades ago. They loved the name so much, so we’re keeping the tradition going with our farm. :)
