I talked to a toast rep today and he mentioned that for food trucks and pop ups they offer a month to month option. I dont have full details as of yet, since it is a different team than the rep i talked to today, but I figured I would mention this
If you're new to card payments, Square is probably going to be your best option because their software plan is free, processing rates are simple and affordable, and you can get a low-cost card reader that is simple to set up. Use Square. That’s what my sister in law uses. She also has small landscaping business. Most of her clients pay 40-50 dollars a month to her for lawn care so she tells her clients that if they pay card it’s a 3 dollar extra charge to pay with card to cover the fees. She has only 5 clients that pay 100-200 dollars a month for her services so she technically has a small surplus some months or neutral on POS payments charges since she services 90 homes a month. And 80% of people pay her cash. She isn’t in a contract with Square like other companies that will get you on that and she did have to spend a lot of money on fancy machine. I think it was like 30 dollars at the time for a card reader. A few years ago. She makes less than 50k and it works for her.
Hi there! While Square does have paid options, it also offers a free entry-level plan that includes basic inventory, reporting, and employee management. You can choose to purchase add-ons or upgrade for more advanced features, but the core POS system is indeed free. Hope this helps clear things up!
