It took us months to decide between Summerlin and Henderson for our new permanent home. In the end, it took the right home in a good location (Madeira Canyon) at the right time for us...in Henderson. Still like to visit Summerlin too!
The only two downsides for poker players would be the commute to the strip and proximity to the airport. That can be remedied by having caesars diamond status though, one trip to reno per year during a tier credit promo and that is handled. During a series you can get a pretty cheap room. For someone who travels a lot, ubering back & forth from henderson can be taxing. That is really the only negative I can think of, and it can be remedied by elevated tier statuses at mgm & caesars properties (free long-term parking) which can be obtained by simply getting the credit cards. Many, many times I have parked at paris and ubered to the airport. Car is totally safe for months. You should call though, they could be fine with it one year and maybe not so much the next
Thanks, Olga, for this video content. I especially like the interviewing locals format!! 😊 My husband just interviewed at Touro University, so we are waiting for the "go-ahead" with planning a move to Henderson. My brother-in-law has enjoyed living in Summerlin for decades. 😊❤️🌞
That's exciting! And glad you like the local interview format! I have so much fun with these videos. Reach out to me once you get the go-ahead, I'd be happy to help!
Ive noticed supply is increasing rapidly. Could we finally see a correction soon? I was reading supply is nearing pre pandemic levels and home purchase cancellations are highest ever.
I am visiting mid-August to aid in our consideration to move there. I really wish I had an idea on what places to visit to better gain a sense of what it's like to live there.
I'm from Southern California and planning to move to Vegas, since I'm there once a month and retiring in a year. I keep hearing from Las Vegas residents that Summerlin is the best place to live. Are the home prices overpriced in Summerlin? And can you get more in Henderson for the same price in Summerlin? Looking for a newly build house.
A lot of the new builds are south, west silverado ranch and southern highlands. Looking at a map, look west of Interstate 15 and south of silverado ranch. People I know would choose the southern highlands area long before summerlin due to airport proximity. Shaq lives in the southern highlands. Houses range from 500k to 20 mil. The west silverado ranch area on the southern highlands border has a ton of new housing going up, currently ranging from 450 - 850k. Chatter on the internet implies that prices are starting to go down
Lorenzo, I can definitely get you a better deal on new construction homes versus walking into one without representation! I look forward to hearing from you 😊
Summerlin has Las Vegas PD, Henderson has Henderson PD! Very BIG difference! The crime in Summerlin is much higher than it is in Henderson! Although all the recent Californians moving to Nevada definitely has contributed to crime rising in both, unfortunately! 😒
@@gerin.6418 The crime rate overall in Las Vegas is pretty high. I lived there for years and I still watch the local news it really seems to be getting worse by the day.
@@TomSnyder-j2p Yeah, definitely! The crime in Vegas has always been bad, but they try their best to hide that fact because of "The Strip" and it being such a tourist town!
Thanks for all your helpful videos Olga!
Thanks for watching! Glad you find them helpful!
Only thing I dislike in Henderson is people running through red lights, otherwise a well run city with great people!

Thank you Olga, moving into Henderson few weeks away! What would be the best family areas to walk or family entertainment? Love to hear from locals
Olga, love the HIKING information.

Yes, hate the scorpians! 🦂 Ugh! 👎🏼
Henderson and Summerlin: Small Town Feel and Big City Crime
Just curious why you say that? This video showed the stats- Henderson is one of the safest cities in the U.S.

But you still can't compare Las Vegas to Henderson as far as the crime goes...
I hate sarcasm
