Really pleased to see you're being recognized by companies who want to collaborate Mike. It's no surprise as your quality of work is very high but it is well deserved. I look forward to other interesting uses for your wife's kitchen wear as your channel progresses...
Thanks so much Lois, there are a few items I am banned from using again but that's another story 🤣😂
Too much talking !
@@milfordmcveen7423 This channel is probably not for you, all the best, Mike
I've just started bingeing your videos. I know nothing of woodworking or turning wood on a lathe. But I know this, everything you make on this channel is gorgeous!
Wow thanks so much, I really appreciate it 😀
Bingeing. 1:19
This takes me back to very close to the beginning days of this channel. Back when there were fewer than 300 people. I’m very happy people have discovered your talents Mike. Your channel has grown and your projects are still top shelf. Hat tip to you my friend.
Haha it took me back as well to those early days. Happy memories but happier now that I get more than 250 views for a weeks work 😂. All the best my friend and I wish you all the best for the new year 😀
I really appreciate this video. I watch a lot of woodworking videos, and to see that your prep "went south" and how you dealt with it - including destroying the cook pot -- makes me realize there is hope for my starting this project. Thank you.
Adapt and overcome as they say. I try to keep my videos as real as possible showing all the ups and downs as we all learn from both. You only stop learning when you stop trying. All the best, Mike 🙂
That is stunning Mike! Beautiful colours that match that burl and make it sing! Love it!
Thanks so much Donna 😀
Beautiful how the copper has set within the black. A happy result from the resin accident which could have been disastrous. I have seen other wood and resin turners use silicone sealant to stop any leaks. I love that you share the entire process with us, and show us how you saved the casting. Then turned it into such a gorgeous container. Black and copper with that burl, just beautiful. ❤😊 xxx
Thanks so much Shelley, I always try to show the good and the bad, I did however cut out 15 minutes of me trying to the blank out of the pan 😂
Beautiful burl & black/copper resin and no bubbles.
You are a real asset to your resin supplier. I have no doubt there will be viewers who will now “have a go” after your excellent guidance tutorial. I will for sure!
As brave and honest an attempt with awesome result as usual.
Thanks 👍
Thanks Nicholas, I sent them the link and they were over the moon with what I had made which is a great relief. There is always a sense of pressure when a company wants to invest in you and you want to do your best to make it work.
Wow! Another beauty, the copper shows up lovely.
Thank you kindly David 😀
Mike, it's an absolutely stunning masterpiece. I'm hardly into resin, but the cloudy marble pattern makes it worth using. Best cookie box I've ever seen! And very pleased to see companies getting interest in your work. At last they have a taste for real talents. Thank you!!!
Thanks so much András, that is very kind of you to say, all the best for the new year, Mike 😀
Ha, I have just watched you turning a birl blatter and commented on you only see them as art peaces, I have gone back to the beginning of your programming. I have learnt a lot, your a great teacher. Keep up the good work.
Cool, thanks John 😃
When I saw you getting it out of the pan and having to resort to the grinder I laughed out loud because it reminded me of me.
Haha thanks Mike, happens to me all the time lol 😀
It is absolutely
Beautiful, I love the separation between the black and the copper. It just it makes it with that burl It's just gorgeous.
Thanks so much Jodi 😀
Hi Mike. I do hope that you and your family are having a wonderful holiday season. The wind sounds like what we get here in the Ozarks that comes off the flat prairies' lands to the west. The resin pot sure turned out looking nice. The use of resin is new to me, so thank you for introducing me to this art form. This is really a good way to use a small piece of wood and turn it into a larger item. I will be looking forward to what you dream up for this new year's videos. Also, your invention of the little light attachment was ingenious. Now all of us viewers can see clearer also. Thanks.
Thanks Wes, this was my first resin project for about 6 months and I'm pretty pleased with the way it came out. The light worked great, now we can all see what's going on, me included 😂
I'm thrilled you might be working more with resin! I love wood+resin.
Georgious project.
Me too, and this resin seems to nice to work with 😀
that just turned out so well - the resin colours and the way they mixed enhances the burl so well, and omg the shape is so lovely with it. that's a beautiful thing. absolutely stunning the asymmetry of it, is just wonderful. kind of art deco crossed with arts and crafts Japanese influence, gorgeous.
Thank you so much, I gather you like it 😀

This turned out absolutely beautiful. I did get a laugh at you trying to get it out of the pot. I was imagining myself trying to remove it when you brought out the angle grinder. Forget saving the pot. I want it out! Great job.
That was funny
Thanks so much, it was taking a while and I did cut about 15 minutes of footage of me hitting it in various ways. 😂
That pot is a stunner Mike! Congratulations.
Thanks so much John 😀
Really excellent result. Resin seems very forgiving
Thanks, it is not bad at all, I have had some that can shatter like glass but this was beautiful to turn!
The copper in black is beautiful. I did not expect it to show up as distinctly as it has done.
Happy New Year!
Thanks Dave and after the start I did not think it would either.
Piece turned out really great. Can't help but think wife was not too proud of you for taking it in the house:). Always enjoy your turnings.
Haha she is used to it by now plus it was in my office so well out her way 😀
Gorgeous result. And I like the talking, hearing what you are thinking and why throughout your process
Thanks Cecilia , so glad you enjoyed it, all the best, Mike 😀
I just found your channel. Such beautiful workmanship. It challenges me to think of a craft that I could work on for the golden years of my life. 🥰
Thanks Glenda, it is never too late to take up a hobby, I've only been doing this for less than 3 years 😀
❤❤I appreciate how you adapt, improvise and bounce with the curve balls!❤❤ It's beautiful
Thanks Audie, I do my best to adapt and overcome 😂
A beautiful creation, Mike. The resin turned out wonderfully, and with no bubbles! The resin colors and swirls make an excellent contrast to the burl, which is beautiful on it's own. As always, a very interesting (and tightly edited) journey watching and listening as you create this piece. Well done!
Thanks so much especially the comment about the editing, this one took me 8 hours to edit! All the best, Mike 😀
What a nice looking pot. Would look good with Biscuits in on a sideboard. Lovely colours and fantastic match between the Resin and the wood. Well done Mike.
Thanks peter, if I put biscuits in there it would certainly be a good test of its durability the way I go through them 😀
Wow, beautiful, I love the black with the copper, and the burl is gorgeous
Thanks so much Rena 😀
I've started binging your videos and loving each one.
Every project you create demonstrates something new to the viewers, be it a beautiful timber, unique design or approach.
Walking us through your thought process is and explanation of why you went on one direction rather than another is fantastic.
Starting to think wood turning could be something I seriously consider trying.
Keep up the awesome work!
Awesome, thank you Michael, I really try to make people feel they are stood next to me and we are just having a chat 😀
absolutely beautiful! I love the black and bronze combination.!
Thanks Linda, glad you enjoyed it 😀
A fascinating project! A triumph from an uninspiring outset - excellent viewing
Thanks so much James 😀
Brilliant! I'm glad you showed us the inside.
Thanks James, I had to, it looked amazing! The best inside I think I have ever done 😀
Gorgeous!

Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed it and there will be more coming soon 😀
Beautiful finial product. Love the colors. You're a true artist.
Thank you so much! 😃
What a beautiful combination of colours.
Thanks so much John 😀

Thank you Bonnie 😀
Just stunning.
Thanks Kurt 😀
That is a stunning bowl, and the resin looks like a great product.
Thank you very much, it worked perfectly!! 😀
The copper is a nice touch. Beautiful!
Thanks so much Joyce 😀
That is awesome, love the wood color with the copper added to the black resin
Thanks Kennedy, I'm really happy with this one 😀
The copper and black resin is so striking. When you were working on it I couldn't see the copper at all. But the finished product is a winner
Thanks so much Judith, I love the way it came out 😀
Just lovely
Thanks Shawn 😀
Beautifull fun project!
Thanks so much Ane 😀
Hi Mike as always you have produced a spectacular piece. The colours really compliment each other with the burl. I was impressed when you said you had not used a pressure pot because the finish from the mold once you turned of the plastic was amazing no bubbles. You certainly boosted my confidence in perhaps trying a pour some time, now I know you don't need a pressure pot. Thanks for the video and the spectacular piece looking forward to the next one.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you so much, this resin in nice and thin so bubbles have a lot time to escape and get into all the cracks. If your wood is very porous then seal it first with either resin or wood glue, this will stop a lot of air coming out the wood while it is drying. 😀
Hi Mike thanks for the added tip.
Always learning in Woodturning.
@@RoyWCanada that is one reason I love it so much 😁
This was mesmerizing and the final product is just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you so much Scott ☺️
The lure of hot glue and resin. Everybody forgets cutting resin is an exothermic reaction, and hot glue melts when it gets hot.
Yes, I was lured in once, too. Glad you saved it!
Haha I know, I will only make that mistake once 😀
Very nice project Mike. I love the subtlety of the copper in the black.
Thanks so much 😀
This is just Awesome !!!
Thanks so much, glad you like it 😀
Super beautiful! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Fabulous piece!
Thanks Ann 🙂
Looks great Mike
Thanks Wade 😀
The bowl turned out so great
Thanks Barbara 😀
Beautiful work! A pleasure to watch you turn your work
Thanks so much Ken 😀
Wow what a beautiful job Mike. Going by the videos that I have watched of your work I am not surprised that companies are showing an interest in working with you. I think that your work deserves any company recognition that comes your way. I am surprised that they are not 'lining up to bash down your door', any support will help you grow your channel. Stunning piece. Cheers mate, Don from South Australia.
Wow, thank you Don, I have had another company wanting me to have a go with their tech to see what I can do with it and the results will be out in about 5 weeks. 😀
A messy beauty right there.❤
Haha thanks Tracy, it did get a bit messy 😀
And yet another beautiful piece, thanks Mike!
Thanks 😀
A great striking piece, I do like the resin colour combo, I haven’t seen you work with resin before . What a pleasing jar . Thanks for another educational video.
Thanks so much Bev, it's about 6 months since I did my last one, if you look on my playlists you will see a few 😀
Glad it “turned” out ok. Very nice project.
Haha thanks! 😀
Beautiful piece. It gives me a boost to strive for better turning in my own creations!
Thanks my friend, if I can do it, you can 😀
Nicely done, Mike!
Thanks Shak 😀
Beautiful, so amazing indeed. 👏

Wow!! Some amazingly beautiful work!!
Thank you so much 😀
What a stunning piece Mike. I’ve never really been keen on resin work but seeing what you’ve done here will make me consider trying it at least once.
Thanks Louis, see if you can make less of a mess than me 😊
@@MikeHolton 🤣
this is lovely, but i do feel bad for that pot :) wonderful job, and so glad there were no bubbles - that is some good resin!
Thank you Dee 😊, the resin is amazing but I will be getting a pressure pot soon
Came out beautifully!! 😍
Thank you!! 😊
That's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
Thanks so much 😊
Gorgeous pot!

Super cool. The way the copper blended into the black is just stunning, and that is without even mentioning the gorgeous wood.
Thanks so much 😊
Just amazing!!

Beautiful work
Thank you so much 😀
Very interesting. It turned out to be a cute canister.
Thank you! 😊
Love it keep going ❤
I will do my best 😀
Beautiful work 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much 😊
Thanks very much for the video!
You're welcome Stu 😀
That is a beautiful piece. I was surprised not to see bubbles in the resin. Especially since you did not use a pressure pot.
There were some micro bubbles hard to see on camera but it did do well 😃
That was an excellent video Mike you overcame the little setback and made another stunning bowl.
Thanks so much my friend, all the best for the new year 😀
@@MikeHolton To you and the family also.
Awesome job.
Thanks Rex 😀
Great piece!
Many thanks! 😊
Thanks!
Thanks so much Mike, this really is appreciated!
I just watched two of your videos and I enjoyed them immensely. I'm not a woodworker but I really enjoy watching extremely talented woodworkers and their videos. Quite entertaining. That's an amazing gift you have there my friend. Thank you for the great video. I do want to try my hands at a resin project so I will keep your sponsor in mind. Be safe!
Thank you very much and thanks so much for watching! I love what I do and hope it comes across in my work and videos 😀
I really enjoy your content. You make beautiful pieces without the nonsense.
Thank you very much, so nice of you to say.
Another beautiful piece!
Thanks Jen 😀
that's a great piece Mike. I have 2 burls that i was trying to decide on what to do with and now I know. Thanks Mike!
No problem Troy, have fun and let me know how you get on 😊
This burl was the perfect choice for this piece. And the copper and black work well together. Beautiful!
Thanks so much Charmain 😀
Oh my goodness! I can’t imagine a better choice of resin colors. I just can’t! So beautiful all of it.
Thanks so much Mary 😀
