    Jim I'm a 77 year old lady, I know nothing about wood turning and all that you do. But since I found your channel I look forward to seeing what you come up with next. This is my favorite thing you have done, but I seem to say that every time I watch you. This is truly a work of art, just amazing. Thank you for sharing your beautiful craft with us.

    Hello Jim, I agree with previous comments: the mystery burl, the copper resin and the hyper shift all combine so well and made this an outstanding piece. I always appreciate your talent as well as your comments during the process. Take good care, Sir.

    I am usually not a fan of hollow forms but this one speaks to me and I love it. I didn't realize that I needed someone to tell me that a hollow form is to be appreciated the same way that you would appreciate a painting on the wall or a sculpture. This truly is a work of art and your admiration is its purpose.

    Announcing the latest in the line of hoped-for Sprague T-Shirts! "Thicker Bottoms Are More Stable on the Table!" Words of wisdom. I could almost hear the gasps when Jim first applied the denatured alcohol to the hollowform and the resin colors came alive. Such a beautiful piece, and I think ALL of your pieces are works of ART! Thank you, Jim!

  • @christinecolvin1111
    @christinecolvin1111 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Holy cow, Jim! This piece has so much character! The waterfalls of resin keep the eye moving and the hyper shift adds whole new dimensions of depth. You can almost see the patterns moving about. At a guess, I'd wager that is an oak variant or even sweet gum, but my money is on red or black oak just by the grain and formation. The touches of gold really balance it out, so I agree that cutting back the collar was a good choice. The profile is extremely pleasing with the taper towards the bottom.
    Truly a piece of artistic perfection ❤. I love your bowls, but I've come to the conclusion that the hollow forms are where you really let go and just have crazy fun with a project and it shows in the levels of creativity each of your hollow forms showcases. Keep being awesome 💫

    I absolutely love the color combinations with the burls. They are stunning. I would love to see these same colors and burls made into a large platter, just to show off even more of the beauty you have created!

    SHINY! I like the darker patches, always a fan of dark colours alongside a strong wood presence. Little bit of shimmer and it's perfection.

    Absolutely stunning!!! I was so happy when you chose the gold for the cracks! That’s what I was hoping you would go for and it’s perfect!!

    Just WOW beautiful piece. The colors look like flowing water down the vessel. Good color choice.

    I love hollow forms. They tend to follow the classic shapes that have the same appeal as do the forms displayed in ancient Greek , Roman, and Etruscan pottery. The eye appeal is magnificent in this piece. I love the colors as well. My favorite piece thus far. Well done!!
