you are my hero. microsoft can do everything to stop people from adding my computer to task bar for whatever reason, but a hero like you will help us overcome them.
Here's an easier method: 1.Type "File explorer options" in the windows search bar and then select from the menu. 2. Change "Open File Explorer to" option from "Quick Access" to "This PC". 3. Click Apply then Ok. 4. Now pin File explorer to the taskbar. It open This PC.
Thanks dude. I kept getting an error until I just copy and paste the address from your description. Thanks for taking the time. I have always used My (This) PC shortcut for decades and had to have it in Win 11.
This worked. Thank you very much. A small correction, is not the semicolon ' ; ' , it is the colon ' : ' But this is not very efficient for me. It takes a while to open
worked great, you should mention though that if people use the path address you have in your description they need to delete the brackets at the end and beginning or else it won't work. It's really ridiculous that we need to go through this long process to get This PC pinned to the taskbar though, whoever at Microsoft though it was a good idea to not allow it needs to be shot.
Thank You for the help I just got a new Dell and for the life of me I could not add the shortcut to the taskbar but you helped me thank you so much!!!!
Wow, that is a quite complex way just to add This PC to the taskbar :P That is a must for me, If you have it already on the taskbar on W10 when upgrading it will still show on that taskbar which is nice. But they really should make this simpler haha xD Thanks for the video btw!
thank you i recently built a pc and installed windows 11 on it i had a pc where i had windows 10 on it and upgraded it to 11 and i had it pined to the task bar i couldn't find a way to do it on my new pc now thanks to you i can use my new pc like my old one like i am used to like how i used to be able to
Hi! This is wonderful!!! However, my shortcut opens to This PC‹Documents, not simply This PC. Any ideas where I went wrong? UPDATE: Nevermind. I got it! Thank you for putting info in your description. I couldn't zoom in to the screen hardly at all and I just couldn't see the punctuation. I heard you say to type a semi-colon after "shell", and I did that; but your description had a colon. So I followed that and voilà! Thanks again.
Same thing, lol. Drove me crazy until I looked at the pic. There is no reason why we should even have to do this, Microsoft always does crazy stuff with a new OS.
At first I could not get it to work, it kept opening to documents in This PC. Looking at the pc address you put up I realized the mistake. In the video you say add semi colon, it is add colon.
You said semi-colon but show a colon and say to remove brackets but remove quotation marks. I had to watch the video very closely to see what you meant.
Heyy everyone ....just one change is there ... don't comment that this guy's method isn't working .... He said semicolon after "shell" but if we type colon (:) after typing shell then it will work ✨
Wow. Thank you so much. Very helpful. I love you😍 I always want to do this since windows 10 but can't figure out how. I try to google and read so many article but they only guide on how to pin folder or change file explorer to open this PC by default and that is not what I want. I want to actually pin This PC to taskbar so I can quickly open it even when I have several file explorer windows opened. Now what about the recycle bin on taskbar though?
It's so easy. Just create a shortcut of "This PC" from your desktop and you can then pin in the taskbar easily. Don't follow this time consuming method.

your little tutorial it makes us satified haha. thank you
Thank You for the help I just got a new Dell and for the life of me I could not add the shortcut to the taskbar but you helped me thank you so much!!!!
For some reason it won't let me right click 0:20, so every time I try this, it creates a shortcut to the Documents folder instead.
Legend! Thank you!
This is the best tutorial on this. Thank you so much!!!
