"Ignore my ults though, they're just for intimidation" 😭
realest overwatch player
Tbf, if they don't have a sleep or javelin etc, a high noon with a good angle IS a great zoning ult, it's not something you should volunteer to stay in LOS of.
I have had many games where I high noon in OT and the enemy team gets too scared and C9's lol
Don't ever think Mercy heals can keep you up in a fight if you're a tank. Most times even a pocket of both supports doesn't work if the enemy has good target focus/target priority. Stop blaming supports for everything. We can heal a lot but we can't heal bad positioning, you feeding your brains out, bad decision making, bad aim, no game knowledge etc. We support, we're not magicians
yawn 1 trick mercys that pocket dps and the tank still gets more dmg then the dps pocketed all game is a gg. at that point its 5v3 unless the widow or ashe is getting the kills. if not the game over
Tanks usually never get pocketed anyway? @@josephmccartney5951
It's a strange dynamic. My experience when I mercy usually always seems to eventually breakdown to this:
DB the medium/long range DPS while waiting to the fight to get real. Quickly NEED to switch to constant heal pocket the tank so they don't fall over during heavy fighting. Flick to DB for those few fleeting seconds they aren't getting absolutely hammered - or more likely do a lot of quick hops to top up the DPS before rotating back to the tank. Fancy evasions/Valk management/rez as the battle progresses. A few RARE times I've had productive times pocketing Phara, but that only seems to work when our team already has the edge, and that just helps solidify the roll.
@@DarthSpock1it’s more like mercy doesn’t work in the current meta because supports are encouraged to lean more into dps with heals while mercy kinda contradicts that for both her and the other support
Lifeweaver: "I can fix her"
Mercy was really trying to touch the payload while keeping the team alive and killing the Dva
Mercy was mvp
Yeah Mercy played well and definitely was not hard-pocketing Cass. Also the Cass's description of the match was a hilarious read tbh, it's a shame Emongg paraphrased it but I'm glad I read it. "Unless that advice involves firing fewer warning shots, or playing a hero with fewer than one cowboy hats on." This was a great match to watch, very happy for our protagonists.
IM DYING at the end, no way they BOTH C9d in overtime!! and in PLAT too!!!!
Lemme guess the tank whos outta position and can do no wrong is blaming the healer.
Just from the short amount of time watching the Mercy, you can see that they are a good mercy. (good movement and positioning and intentionally damage boosting specific abilities)
Cass was also decent hitting a lot of shots, the tank feeding was on them and maybe the other support.
If you are a tank Mercy heals aren’t gonna keep you up anyways, that’s why she pockets dps because she healing the tank should be on very specific situations (like other supp death or tank is getting too much damage) but usually keeping the tank up is for supports like Ana/Bap/Kiri/LW, the more you climb the less Mercy healbots so the less they gonna be with the tank but because that’s how she is used
She's a pocket healer, why people think her heals are strong enough to sustain a ton of damage makes me laugh.
Mercy did a great job on balancing the heal and damage boost. It is just sometimes the tank needs to know there will only be bap healing the majority of the time and mercy is going to heal other people. And in general, tank should always aware of who is healing the whole time because the other support can do something else. Remember, they are support, not healer.
As a Mercy main, the moment I saw the Bap getting rezzed and the Orisa go down in the feed, I suddenly knew exactly what happened. In that situation, Mercy has to make the call: do I try and rez and hope the tank stays up, or just heal the tank and rez if I have an opening? Didn't work out, sadly.
Don't forget too that most of the time when the Orisa died the Mercy had to run away too otherwise she would die also. It just so happened the Cass tended to be nearby which is what the Orisa saw
As a mercy player, I also sometimes find a better play to keep the tank up is to pocket a dps that is popping off so the tank takes less damage overall if the enemy team is getting hammered. I just think some tanks don’t realise that there are other sneaky ways we are trying to help them out.
If my tank is the one popping off in a big margin I will definitely stick with them until I have no choice but to fall back or save another teammate
Imho, that cass was playing so well actually ^^ and mercy as well! What a satisfying watch 🥰
ive had tanks bitch and throw because i didnt full on healbot them as mercy, i think some tanks in metal ranks just do not understand or care to understand what each supp does or that its not every supps job to full on healbot/hard pocket them at all times. in no way should i as mercy have to ever healbot my tank if we have an ana/bap/kiri/moira/lw as our other supp and i will continue to die on this hill. if you need both supps on ur ass 24/7 to play tank then youre not a good tank
Yeah like zarya noobs who stand in the open and just face tank everyone even when their bubbles are down.
and needing a mercy pocket with a bap on your team as orisa? skill issue fr fr
I have opposite experience in my Plat lobbies because the tank would always complain me "pocketing" them even though I was just there to stablize their health until the 2nd support can heal them to full HP, and told me to pocket my dps more (even though I was already doing that and I was enabling them more). It happened twice on different tank players.
In gold lobbies, the one who complains more that I should heal the tank more when it is an actual Mercy main who plays Moira even though I also heal the tank more on that match to fill whenever she is recharging / need to be healed.
When she played Mercy, she fully pocketed the tank and ignore my Ashe and 76 then she swapped to Moira and I played Mercy to enable my Ashe. When she said "Can you also heal the tank not just the dps?"
I replied, "I also healed the tank, I'm not just a healbot though"
I wished I could've said that she needs to review the VOD lmao
one time this dva complained i power boosted too much because we were the last 2 alive after a team fight so i just kept the blue beam up so no extra feeding/staggering happened. and then back in ow 1, i was playing mercy and then the next round the other healer played her just so they could heal bot *two* tanks
Two C9s - beautiful.
Goes to show orisa doesn’t press tab before and after fights.
Good players in general would check their team comp and be like ok: I have a bap, they’re gonna be helping me as tank, I also have a mercy but they’ll be taking care of dps mostly and helping bap/tank when needed. I’m going to check during my downtime in a fight if my bap is alive/where they are and play accordingly.
Also it didn’t seem like the mercy had a hard pocket playstyle, it’s smart to have a ‘default dmg boost target’ to go back to when nothing else is going on. Unless someone needs health or you see a cool-down that is worth damage boosting, it’s big value to dmg boost whomever has the highest damage potential or is in the best position to do damage and get elims.
wait I’m 90% sure I’m the mercy in this hahaha does anyone know when it streamed so I can watch the VOD
Stream from 9 days ago (VOD thumbnail has an Ashe POV on Antarctic Peninsula, ) starting at 2:56:00. Before the streamer mode kicks in, the Mercy name on the red team is Eckiana.
Thankfully Emongg wears different shirts, and he mentioned the More Emongg uploads happening so I had enough clues to hunt it down
@@mage4242 tysm!! unfortunately wasn’t me, I just had weirdly similar game recently with a double C9 as well lol
Idk what I would do without the song once per video with a wall of saluting emotes in the chat
Alright so means it's a w video because emongg is a w human
I’m up at 3:20am crocheting Christmas gifts last minute and watching TH-cam and see me and another Aussie tryna figure out what time emong was gonna be doing mystery heros Tuesday our time in the chat on this video hahahahaaha
Someone did some calculations.
As a tanke with a pocket healer
A pocket healer can buy you about 2 extra seconds against solder76 with 100% bodyshot accuracy. And no tank cooldowns
If you are facetanking the entire enemy team with no cooldowns you are getting melted, heals or not.
A healer might buy you 0.5 extra seconds to get to cover IF only half the team is targetting you
and at that point you just might not be worth the risk because You are heavily exposed and your healer likely needs to expose himself more to help you.
At that point you are very likely loosing 1 player (overexposed tank) and might loose another (support).
It is probably not worth it.
The Cass was mad clean wit it. He played very well and so did the mercy. Tank paying zero attention to what’s going on behind them is what got them caught up a bunch. Didn’t notice their burst healer go down several times/was out of position and found themselves mostly advancing into a 1v5. Can’t blame your supports when you have zero awareness outside of what’s right in front of your face. Also, DVa didn’t just swap for Cass, they swapped cause it’s a good choice and also to navigate the large amount of high ground in Junkertown.
This Mercy is the kinda support I need in my games
I just had about a week of healer queue almost only mercy and I love my blue beam. I was actually highly concerned I would be the mercy in this video lol.
Edit: I try not to edit but I am shook. I did NOT realize Cass grenade has this much damn range omg 1:30
Summary of the vod: classic tank diff
Emongg 100% had it at 8:54 no doubt in my mind
If the Mercy went to heal the tank, the DPS would complain. There is no winning. Someone will always complain.
Good aim for plat
Most plat players are mechanically good, but lack the gamesense of a higher ranked player.
@@HelloCompanionor it’s the other way around, plat is the melting pot of overwatch
@@TgPepper plat is the rank where you have people who have never played video games before overwatch and have climbed through gamesense, and the people that came from other shooters who placed in plat due to having good aim
Peace be upon you. ^w^
lol I am a plat 5 dps cass one trick (whenever I decide to play that role), and the gameplay here looks near identical to my gameplay. I guess my dps is in the right rank 😅
Why are their names like that? Is that an anonymizing feature?
Yep
A mercy who actually pockets dps is doing her job lol answer to the question, tanks an idiot, emongg just to nice to say 😂
2nd song more justified than the first
ALRIGHT SO!!
Hello phoenix my little munchkin. Can you let me in? It’s cold outside.
@@danielrecker533 I currently live in my camper van, you might need to get a hotel bud.
Orisa players are not the brightest people
i love opera
I'm not even Going to lie to u my least favorite part of your videos is this stupid song you play for a solid 30-40 seconds. Thank God there's a fast forward button
why we only watch console? AND HONESTLY WE SHOULD GET DISCLAIMERS - CONSOLE GAMEPLAY.
Was this a mercy ego vod lmao. That Mercy was cracked. Swapping is always bad when someone else does it. lmao Losers always mad someone swapped effectively just because they apparently can't swap.
It was the cass getting his VOD reviewed, not Mercy. So it is not a Mercy ego vod lol
o7
ive seen mercy pocket 1 dps ( usually their Genji boyfriends) and that all they heal meanwhile the other dps and tank are on low and mercy just pockets the Genji and refuse to heal them I can understand this player frustration because. ive been in this situation far to many times
That's literally not the situation tho
I love the assumption that every Mercy player is a girl and is duoed with a DPS player who is their boyfriend. the sexism is strong, the homophobia is strong, so many things are strong in your assumptions lol
(Only 5 mins into the video but I still wanna state my opinion cuz idk)
Mercy wasn't hardcore pocketing the Cass. The most the Cass is to the Mercy is a primary damage boost target (normal thing for Mercy players). The Orisa is just dumb if they fr think it's the Mercy fault for them dying💀💀 If you are a tank you should never always rely on a Mercy to keep you up. Her healing just isn't able to keep up.
(Much love to that Mercy player! I ♡ my fellow Mercy players:])
