My husband is from SriLanka too. I’m Korean and I couldn’t speak fluent English when I met him first, now we are 9+ years together and we speak in Konglish 😂 sharing the same moral values, love and kindness mean everything :) you guys are so cute together❤

15:43 I totally agree with you lucie, most of the srilankans think there's a heavenly life in EU, UK and USA where they have 0 problems and so much money.. since I'm a srilankan living in Sweden and I have traveled to so many countries in the world I can confirm you got the best decision in your entire life to move to Srilanka and live happily..
Here in Europe we are living with so much insecurity about next war and the rising energy prices.. I am also planning to relocate back to srianka within next 3 years and enjoy this limited life without stress.. loads of love ❤❤

I am a half srilankan . You know my mom is not from this country but she is like you . She really adopted to this country really well. Within 20 years of my life in Srilanka I am really happy to say you both of really undestanding like my parents I am happy to see such a couple like you guys
I’m in a similar relationship as you but I was born in Sri Lanka so I’m same colour as my husband but I don’t speak Sinhala so I find it quiet difficult. So it would great to connect with you. I raised in Australia and until I met my husband I know Sri Lanka culture in my life.
Both of you posses openness of hearts,spirit and mind - with these elements present you will be led to see and experience things that most people cannot even conceive because language and words cannot express your experience and your love for each other. I was in an interracial, cross-cultural relationship for a decade. I have this to say about the language barrier: we never miscommunicated about the big things, only the little things. My experience was that because discussions were effortful at the literal language level they were necessarily more intentional and mindful. In the end, I learned more of his language than he did of mine, but that was fair since we were living in his country.

I think I should share my experience with you two. I am married to British. Sometimes when I talk normal he thinks I m shouting .I think it's the tone of sri Lankans.
Visa vise is such a headache. I have been married over 10 years but I am still in spouse visa. Which take up to 5 years to get Permanent residency. I would recommend anyone not to go through which I have been through. But everyone's journey is different.

Hi Lucy, I watch your vloggs with great interest and I truly admire you doing your best make a go at living in Srilanka. However, I must say that "hard work" applies to not just in England, it applies to Srilanka too. You worked hard in England and you are working hard in Sri Lanka, the difference is that your heart is in Srilank. Also, what we learn in Schools in England, some make use of and some dont and it all in various ways help living life, none of it is "stupid". Pleae be very careful when using social media as you dont want kids to feel "schooling is stupid". Thank you and best wishes to you both.

I hate being negative but there's one thing you mentioned that touched me. You said you worked 6 months to find money to travel. I wish Sri Lanka had such opportunities. Like we barely make it to the end of the month. Some people here work their whole life and never travel. Maybe it's cos of the way people think.
