Thanks. I watched the video and gave it a shot doing both updates with a USB Drive and it worked great. The system took a good 20-30 sec to reboot following each update, but it ended up just fine.
which USB port did you connect to to do the update?

Got the message PND didn't update with the NAV portion. Forums out there seem to talk about maps out of date or something. We'll just skip that part and everything updated fine. Differences...no "accept" button when you turn it on. Also wherever you are at when you turn the radio off that's where it starts when you turn it on. I use my Nav as a speedometer since the gauges are impossible for me to see in daylight (2012 Rubicon). Everything else updated. Looks like a dark mode all the time instead of that ugly blue. I like it.

thanks to you i have jeep grand 2011 uconnect RBZ software ver 8 i was try to install ver 10 its good to work but startup by DOOGE screen pls how can i change to JEEP SCREEN or back to old ver.

I've given up and have upgraded to a Kenwood system.
The usb port in the glove compartment or your centre console. Not the dash usb port.
Thanks, fiero, always enjoy your videos! My biggest concern is whether these updates will affect the backup camera. Hopefully your camera still works, and these updates did not revert the flash the dealer did?
David the camera works perfect no issues. In fact it has an extra setting I have yet to figure out for the camera.
this video saved my butt. I had a 430 RBZ radio in a jeep compass. I resubscribed to siriusxm and all my channels were scrambled, the categories showed empty, the presets all showed empty except for channel number. it played fine when i bought the car in may 2019, then i remembered the only thing i did was upgrade firmware on uconnect. sirius employees are for the most part dicks and if refresh doesn't solve it.......duh. So I dl'ed the 33 iso firmware update and once it rebooted and came back up all my sat channels back to normal. TY SO much for this video, it saved my bacon and sirius gets to keep another customer. wish the employees spoke better english.....

Would this update fix my nav from not working. Everything else works on the head unit. It’s a 430 rhb.
have the uconnect 430/430N in the display settings page the screen is off can’t seem to get the touchscreen to work how do you turn the screen on or is the unit garbage

Thanks for your video i was able to update my software but this did not fix my problem, hope you can help me with it. When i insert an audio cd or data cd with mp3 tracks it only reads one track and does not have the capability to be copied to the hard drive. Also i tried using a flash memory same thing it only reads the name of the track but does not read it nor copy it. Thanks

I have a problem with my rbz unit, I did the update process from 01.33.19 to 01.33.23, when it completed and rebooted, it didn't turn on anymore, now it's at the uconnect logo screen and it reboots constantly, is there something wrong? Can I do it or did my rbz already die?

Hi seems 2011 to 13 hard to find nav updates going to try on my jeep grand cherokee today , go to navigation then check and it will show what software you have mine was melco rev 230 crossing my fingers , so your radio update worked ?

Was that the RBZ radio that I saw you running navigation on? I just bought a Avenger with that same head unit and I am trying to figure out if nav is supported by the RBZ. I have upgraded the firmware already. Thanks for any help!
Joe, that is the RHB that I have. The RBZ has always been non nav.

The sound is differently different. Almost like a hall or full effect. Its hards to explain. But I know when getting in my wife accord, her stereo just sounds more narrow.

It worked for me. I have a green jeep and the blue screen was a boomer. Now that the background is green after the update all goes along. Jeep logo show every time. Too soon to know if I will find any problems after the update.
I have a 2017 Dodge Caravan with a 430 trying to get apple car play is it possible? Can pair my iphone to make phone calls but not car play. There are no updates for the 430 raadio

Does the uconnect 430 RBZ need an amplifier if upgrading from a uconnect 130? Local stereo installer said u430 does not come with the power of the u130, true??
Never heard that before. I never had an issue with my installs.
Did you have the burn on a dual layer or do you do it on a single?

Hey so I just installed a RBZ in my 2012 grand Cherokee that doesn't have navigation, does this firmware update still work? Change the aesthetics of it like shown?
I never found the answer to the RBZ question and the update. I would think its the same but I am not sure.
Hey so I just updated everything, but the interface fails to have the jeep logo and everything now, any reason why? Like the green streaks on the screen & the jeep logo do not show up anywhere.
No idea. There is quirks with these my gig units from time to time.

I have heard conflicting reports the update was removed then put back on. But I think the USB will work fine and yes 2012 is good.

I did the updates and thought I'd ruined it for sure, but everything seems fine. I got a message that the PND didn't update, but the process chugged right along.The Maps do seem a little smaller.
I am still not sure if I like the new interface either.
Well, it's been a week now and the new interface is beginning to grow on me quite a bit. So overall, it was worth the effort.
I wouldn't have updated if not for your video.

So I updated it, everything is working except the Jeep logo isn't showing up on the main screen, also none of the Sirius stations show any graphics either, as well as using pictures as a background, it isn't working either., should I try to reinstall the update, or maybe downgrade to the 33 version??
Did you ever find an answer to your problem?
My solution was to revert back to version .33
thought there was a setting to enter vehicle type

Is it at all possible to upgrade the 430/RBZ to 430N/RHB with only a software update or would it require a whole new system?
Unfort no. The RBZ does not have the inputs or the electronics for the nav portion like the RHB

I have the 430 rbv in a Cherokee it does not have nav everything works but it has application 20.02.01 can I still do these updates ? And will I lose anything like the back up cam or Uconnect? Because they work NOW. But on my SiriusXM I do NOT have all the channels I only have 100 or some channels when my subscription says I have way more . On my old radio I had all the channels. I was kinda hoping if I did this updates maybe I might get my channels back

Ok cool if you find out anything about the rbz let us all know that's what's in my jeep . And it still has application 20.02.01 on it . Just made since to me to go to 30 then 50 but I don't want to brick it for sure so I'll leave it until someone has figured this out
It does work on the RBZ .. You'll need to update to 33.0 before you do the 50.00. It's really simple to do. I did mine on a flash drive and plugged into the usb on the radio. There's a small delay, and it might say no data on the usb drive at first, but it'll start the download.
Does this only work for Navigation models and how does this differ from the uconnect updates?

I have a HDD problem where I can't access to the HDD in my Jeep. It always says HDD not available. I downloaded the update for my REN Sirius Non-Nav and It didn't show me the update screen. Any help or recommendations?

+fiero880 I just purchased a 2009 Chrysler Aspen with the 430RBZ unconnect. I'm usually very good with our electronics, connecting bluetooth devices, etc. In fact, while waiting to buy the Aspen, I've been driving a rental, Chrysler 200, and had my Samsung Note 4 connected via bluetooth, for listening music from my phone, handsfree calls, etc. But for some reason, I'm having trouble connecting my cell phone to the Aspen. Any tips or advice? Thanks :)
The RBZ is suppose to be the RHB but without the navigation. However on the RHB and RBZ they did require a separate bluetooth / connectivity module in order to activate U Connect. Does the U Connect actually work when you press the phone button ?
+fiero880 ok, yes I actually got the Bluetooth uconnect working. Now, I'm just having issues playing media from my cell &/or downloading music from a flash drive. I was able to transfer like 15 songs to the HDD this morning. But hours later, when I tried to download more music, it froze at 99% complete and after it finally unfroze, I checked and NONE of the music from either times was on the HDD song list.
Wouldve been nice if you showed more of the screens and timeline of the 50 update....you just put the disk in and out..

Hey maps don't get updated. Just the look. I hear if you want to update the maps for the $150 you have to downgrade to 33 it won't work with 50 update. I went up to 33 still waiting for 50 or to update maps first.

I just bought a 430N RHB and it says "Application 61.00.03! I thought 50 was the latest!
Not sure. At the time of this video, the one I did was the latest.
this is no longer possible. The website states RHB systems have a lock on the firmware, and there are no disk images available for download. Might want to update your video

+Russ Stodieck No worries. After being locked out and waiting 30 minutes I powered the radio back on an it came right back up.
glad you got it working. the 13's and up requiring the code when unplugged from power but didn't know when doing a firmware upgrade.
