Personally, and if money was no expense, I’d take a YV-666 (Hounds Tooth) model with a Forward facing dual set of medium cannons, twinned ion cannon, a fore mounted Diamond-Boron missile launcher, a rear mounted Quad cannon with a Seismic mine layer. In addition, I would increase the shield capacity and overhaul the short range sensors to long range. A “ghost” ID reader to hide the ships ID would be quite useful as well. Inside would have a full weapons locker with gear and various armor sets (never know if you’re going to need to sneak into a Imperial Compound), a carbonate freezer, several bunk rooms (Allies on jobs help) and extended storage bay for those off hand smuggling/escort operations. Depending on other situations, more medium-heavy cannon the better.
I’d replace Bossk’s Skinning Table with a small med bay, with a 2-1B surgical droid. If I didn’t use the training room then I’d use that for the Med Bay and use his Skinning room for a concealed armoury, with gas for blasters and perhaps some cargo with grenades/explosives.
Really needs to be a top 10 speeder video. They may not be the most popular topic, yet I have yet to see any channel really cover the topic. Not everyone can afford a starship and you need something to cover the ground planet side. Just putting a future idea out there. Still good work on this vid
I'd probably use a YV- 929 armed freighter They've got more than enough space to make a prison and keep bounties And the weapons and armor on this bad boy is quite good I know the Empire eventually banned them because of how much weapons these bad boys were packing and the fact they were soo accessible but as long as you have the purchase papers that prove that you legally bought it before it was banned it's all good If not... Just carve your way out
Agreed I’d probably include a few nasty surprises for anyone who tries to take it down. Seismic charges, buzz droids dumped out the back. Just a real prickly looking target
My favorites were actually those that didn't look like a bounty hunter ship, something that blended in but had concealed or low profile modifications. More smuggler style that outright bragging/military vessels A customized YT series would have been perfect as they were everywhere.
my mando character uses a mish-mash YT-1930 / YT-1300, with alot of Special Modifications. Naturally, they have also been known to cargo-run and smuggle, in addition to bounty hunt and mercenary work.
The Lancer-class Pursuit Craft is my favorite ship. I also think the Rho-class Shuttle (aka Nu-class with cargo bay and dorsal fin) would be a cheap and effective bounty hunting ship once the empire takes over and the GAR is disbanded.
I’m surprised you didn’t talk about the YT-2400. It has a bunch of storage, very easy to modify, and has secret compartments for smuggling. It was even shown in the Rebels series.
It is SLAVE 1 - not Slaaaave! Bobba Fett (and Jango before him) named the ship thus because they saw it as a tool totally under their command! Unlike many other hunters Bobba Fett loved his ship, but he wasn't super attached to it! Hell in legends he made do with other ships on several occasions!
Given that he did pronounce it correctly at least once in this video and many other times in pervious videos, he was probably mispronouncing Slave One’s name on purpose as part of a joke about pollical correctness.
It’s also a reference to the fact that in Legends, Jango ended up becoming a slave at one point after the the death of the other mandalorian commandos. He did eventually escape, and ironically ended up working for the man who sold him into slavery(Dooku)
I'd use a corrilian Corvette. They are common and can blend in. They are large enough and modular so they can have hangers, holding cells, although I prefer carbon freezing. It just saves on space. The one area I'm worried about is speed.
As always I would pick a heavily modified Corellian HWK-290 light freighter, like the *Moldy Crow*. Like most Corellian designs it is easy to modify. With four wing mounted laser cannons, an optional dual ion cannon turret and flight capabilities that put it on par with an X-Wing, I feel it is hard to overlook the ship that carried *Kyle Katarn* through most of his Bounty Hunter/mercenary career.
I feel it depends a lot on whether you want to be covert or to have a ship that commands respect. For a ship that will really have a presence and inspire awe, I think a TIE/rp Reaper with a custom paint job would look amazing (if you can get your hands on one). It's got good weapons and shields, loading ramp and decent internal space, while also small and nimble enough to dogfight with if needed. For something a bit more covert, I would pick the GR75. They are so common people would not pay a lot of attention to them, and external cargo racks can be used to mount modified containers that conceal missiles, mines and holding cells. Another benefit is it's a good cargo hauler so maybe some trading as a side business.
7:00 As far as I know, the Slave 1's name was never officially changed. It was only mislabeled "Firespray" once, on a draft of a new poster that had not even entered production yet.
@@MonkeyBanjo7 Allen likes to mispronounce various words for fun, although there are some that sound strange because of his accent (like "dorter" instead of "daughter").
Hmpf...either a WR-452 Shooting Star or a YT-2000 (both with heavy modifications! So more weapons, a droid-brain (that can actually fly the ship!), a beckon-call, guard-droids (every KOTOR-Player knows that it sucks to have your ship stolen!), a few astro-mechs to help with repairs etc., better shields, better hyperdrive with a backup etc. etc.)
Talking about bounty hunters made me realized one thing. Do they need licenses to operate when the Republic was in power? I doubt that since they mainly served the Hutts before the Separatists will appear. But what I know is that when the Empire was in power, they need licenses to operate. But yet somehow, they can still serve the Hutts and get away with it.
Pretty sure they legally needed a license to legitimately work, however the Republic likely didn't devote a ton of resources into catching unlicensed hunters as it was a low priority
From my understanding, it was more a wild west type feel. Anyone could turn in a bounty if you had the blaster power. Organizations like The Bounty Hunters Guild were around to offer "legal" protection. More or less they handled the paperwork and the money handling (for their percentage). That way Joe Blow Bounty Hunter doesnt have to walk into Jabba's palace, or the local Garrison and start demanding money. Thats how i understood it, mostly from piecing together random bits of info. No sources, just theories
It's been a few years, but as I mentioned before BH had to be bonded, similar to some professions today. Most bonds were held by various Hutt entities.
Darth Maul’s ship The Scimitar is an excellent ship to have if you’re a bounty hunter all the technology all of the stealth the speed and fire power just a perfect ship if you’re a bounty Hunter if you can get past all the traps. Thanks for the video
Imperial Commanders in ESB after Millenium Falcon disappears: "No ship that small has a cloaking device!" Every personal starship Falcon size or smaller during the Clone Wars: "Also, it has a cloaking device!"
parsec is a unit for distance not actual speed. 12 parsec was referring to the distance the Millennium Falcon was using to complete the run. The distance was highlighted likely because the Falcon was capable due to its structure and design taking shortcuts flying in areas other ships would not have survived.
No, You are right about the Parsec being a unit of measurement, the Falcon was flying through a nebula that distorted space, hence Han was able to do it in 12, where-as normally it would be 15 to 17 Parsecs... yeah, it's in the Solo Movie, which isn't as bad as everyone thought it would be...
here, here .. .:) the lancer can also be modded out so, you could add a dozen or so different weapons /countermeasure ....like ,asaj ventress's cloaking device
You all have some great ideas, But blending in? Easy GR-75 add a reinforced hull Increase the sheild Throw in a class 1 or 2 hyperdrive and add a duo of medium turrets. Heck i think the GR-75 is an excellent ship with upgrades perfect for a squadron killer and light support vessel Remove some of the cargo and replace it with a hanger. Call it the penetrator
personally always been a fan of the GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat, even if it barely had any page time in the EU. From what I remember, it was supposed to be the B-Wing, but actually well-designed. Several ion cannons, blasters, and both concussion missile and proton torpedo tubes. The rotating wings were to help stabilize it, and also helped the aesthetic factor by looking aggressive and menacing. It also boasted an ion drive that rivaled the A-Wing for speed. A few minor conversions, and it would be a great bounty hunter duo's ship.
I know maybe not a traditional bounty hunter but the eben hawk is a pretty solid ship, and the ghost would be really good for smuggling and hit and run attacks.
If I was to pick a ship, I’d pick something similar to Ventress’s and add a carbonite chamber much like the Mandalorian had and have a heavily armored storage area for the bounties too. I’d probably invest in getting some maintenance droids to keep things running and occasionally assist with collecting any wanted individuals. I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to be followed and caught unprepared for a situation.
I still maintain that my preferred bounty hunter ship would be the Rogue Shadow from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The cargo hold alone was big enough for a Jedi/Sith training holodeck-ish system. A few modifications, and it would be perfect to have an onboard sleeping quarters and prison cell transport area
+1 on the Lancer pursuit class. Ran with one in a tabletop. Replaced the heavy blasters outboard of the cockpit with the largest ion cannon I could, upgraded the blasters on the cockpit itself to shipboard level instead of anti personnel. My BH preferred to bring back live bounties. Couldn't find a layout with holding cells though. Had to make my own layout. It was interesting, since most BH have to be bonded to hold guild membership per the source books. Most were bonded with Hutts. My character was bonded with Corellian Security. Made some paperwork easier, and some harder.
The VCX-100 LIGHT FREIGHTER- The ship I think could easily become a become a bounty hunting ship As well as the ability to both smuggle and do legitimate transportation of goods On the side. Frankly it's my all around favorite ship and Star Wars which is kind of surprising to me since there's been a lot of really iconic ships out there that have grown to love so it's surprising to find my favorite ship favorite ship in the Disney era of Star Wars. This ship has so many Amazing features And frankly all around just practicallity. That made me just fall in love with it. It's definitely the one thing that I probably enjoyed the most about the Star Wars Rebels TV series was seeing that ship in action. It seems to outclass the millenium Falcon in every possible way. Has better armor better Shields better maneuverability better speed. Definitely better weapons and frankly the design is way more pleasing to the eye. I've always loved that how George Luke is based a lot of his ships on World War II planes. The ship continues that. Definitely if I was bounty hunting or going around the Galaxy is doing any sort of job the VCX 100 light Freighter would be the ship I would do it with. Not only because it could pretty much handle almost any job it comes across. I also just like the fact that the ship is actually Livable. I like the idea of ships being almost like space RVs. Where it's both a mobile home but also a way to work to make Money. This ship can do that pretty comfortable with a crew of 4 to 6. the fact that it's just heavily customizable and heavily armed it's pretty nice too.

Slave 1 and the Punishing 1 are the best... also, there aren't many good things about losing the EU to Disney/Marvels terrible stories, but losing Cade Skywalker was one of the BEST... what a horrible character... geez...
If I was a bounty hunter I'd try and find an old LAAT Gunship. The variant designed for space travel. A few modifications and a Droid copilot later and BOOM got yourself a decent bounty hunting ship.
Disney did not change the name. Disney purchased LucasFilm, which did not own the rights to the name “Slave 1”. The name “Slave 1” has never been used on screen, and is probably owned by Bantam Books, or some other publisher.
Depends on what I have by way of crew. If I have at least two crew mates I’d go for the VCX-100 with the accompanying fighter. If I’m running solo I’d be trying to work my way up to a GX1 Short-Hauler but probably kicking off in some kind of cheap gunship that has a hyperdrive and room for at least four passengers.
You're not wrong, it is impractical. Otherwise, it would have found a larger market instead of selling the bare handful of ships the Firespray class actually managed. Instead, the manufacturer pretty much dropped the design like a hot rock and moved onto other product lines that offered a better mix of cost and performance. Obviously the Fetts managed to upgrade their Slav-1 to practically legendary status, but they sank decades and a fortune into after-market mods to get it to dance like that. I mean, if someone _wants_ to sink Lamborghini-level money into upgrading a box van, they will probably get impressive results from it, but there are cheaper and more effective ways to reach that goal.
@@tba113 It’s like that video of a pickup truck out racing a Lamborghini. The truck(like Slave 1and also the millennium falcon) was so heavily modified that it probably would’ve been cheaper to just use a Lamborghini instead.
_They_ think they did. They haven't really convinced the fans to adopt the new name, though, so I don't think they managed to actually change anything.

Suggis doesnt seem that good. It's basically razer Crest from the look Was it slav eh or slave 1. They still had slavery in star wars Overlapping fire isnt bad but blocking other weapons is. The razor Crest would be amazing if din could afford to maintain it. He had a carbonite station and an armory with decent cargo size. It's just he decided to pick a fight with everyone. A bit light on weapons though
Finally Hell's Anvil makes it on a Star Wars ship list. It has been my absolute favorite ship ever since I first played Bounty Hunter way back in the day. I'd choose the Hell's Anvil every single time.
My pick would be a HWK-290 Light Freighter with upgraded shields, a few secret smuggling ports for weapon caches, and a psuedo engineering bay in the Cargo Hold. This would be to work on and deploy extra equipment like a custom speeder bike with detachable weapons, the equipment to maintain and build weapons, and of course enough space for a few small smuggling runs of less illicit cargo.
My favorite bounty Hunter ship is actually one that has limited canon references. The B-Wing mk2. All we know about it is that its larger, and can have a crew of up to 3, a pilot, gunner, and bombarder.
If I hadn't already subscribed...I would have bestowed the honour at your apt description of why the name Slave-1 deserves to not be cancelled by current-year outrage mobs. While you had to parse your words, your message was clear enough...and agreed.

Really needs to be a top 10 speeder video. They may not be the most popular topic, yet I have yet to see any channel really cover the topic. Not everyone can afford a starship and you need something to cover the ground planet side. Just putting a future idea out there. Still good work on this vid
I'd probably use a YV- 929 armed freighter
They've got more than enough space to make a prison and keep bounties
And the weapons and armor on this bad boy is quite good
I know the Empire eventually banned them because of how much weapons these bad boys were packing and the fact they were soo accessible but as long as you have the purchase papers that prove that you legally bought it before it was banned it's all good
If not... Just carve your way out
It too good that the empire ban the ship tho. Maybe the regulation is too much to handle since this one is literally enough to be fit for war.
im surprised that you mentioned my idea aswell not many people know about this ship
More smuggler style that outright bragging/military vessels
A customized YT series would have been perfect as they were everywhere.
Oh yeah. You could use the storage crate docking area as a prison cell and could emergency jettison them if needed.
my mando character uses a mish-mash YT-1930 / YT-1300, with alot of Special Modifications. Naturally, they have also been known to cargo-run and smuggle, in addition to bounty hunt and mercenary work.
@@Zoie3x8 Two sources of income is better than one.
@@Zoie3x8 Same! My Mando has a YT-1760, though they specialise in cargo/medical rather than hunting.
Playing the Star Wars rpg, we had a U-Wing. We named it, Patrick.
Patrick U-Wing.
The Lancer-class Pursuit Craft is my favorite ship. I also think the Rho-class Shuttle (aka Nu-class with cargo bay and dorsal fin) would be a cheap and effective bounty hunting ship once the empire takes over and the GAR is disbanded.
I'd definately choose the slave 1. I just really really love the gyro design of the cockpit interior
I’m surprised you didn’t talk about the YT-2400. It has a bunch of storage, very easy to modify, and has secret compartments for smuggling.
It was even shown in the Rebels series.
Was one ever actually used for bounty hunting though? Yeah plenty of smugglers, but I don't recall any hunters.
Given that he did pronounce it correctly at least once in this video and many other times in pervious videos, he was probably mispronouncing Slave One’s name on purpose as part of a joke about pollical correctness.
big whoosh
Buddy, his job is literally talking about Star Wars. He knows how to say slave 1
It’s also a reference to the fact that in Legends, Jango ended up becoming a slave at one point after the the death of the other mandalorian commandos. He did eventually escape, and ironically ended up working for the man who sold him into slavery(Dooku)
He pronounces it in not getting demonitized
I'd use a corrilian Corvette. They are common and can blend in. They are large enough and modular so they can have hangers, holding cells, although I prefer carbon freezing. It just saves on space. The one area I'm worried about is speed.
Cost too though.
If you already have the money to buy a corvette, why're you needing to hunt bounties?
Too large and expensive, and would require a number of crew members to fly it.
I would used a furry class interceptor!! It's an incredible ship. And can be a mobile home.
@Kyle The Imptern Yes, but that's the ship's classification, not a proper name.
I am confused he said slave 1 wrong or is he saying slave wrong because your not allowed on youtube to say Slave?Or is it his Accent?
@@MonkeyBanjo7 Allen likes to mispronounce various words for fun, although there are some that sound strange because of his accent (like "dorter" instead of "daughter").
@@InventorZahran I see
Hmpf...either a WR-452 Shooting Star or a YT-2000 (both with heavy modifications! So more weapons, a droid-brain (that can actually fly the ship!), a beckon-call, guard-droids (every KOTOR-Player knows that it sucks to have your ship stolen!), a few astro-mechs to help with repairs etc., better shields, better hyperdrive with a backup etc. etc.)
Love it. Slavā-1... great review.

The Banshee ship looks like a Droid gunship and a Y-Wing had a baby together - or is it just me?
Slah Vey. Well played.
Imperial Commanders in ESB after Millenium Falcon disappears: "No ship that small has a cloaking device!"
Every personal starship Falcon size or smaller during the Clone Wars: "Also, it has a cloaking device!"
parsec is a unit for distance not actual speed.
Where do ya'll get that idea from, that a parsec is a measure of distance, not time?
@@DarthMalice50 A Parsec is a real life unit of measurement...

Lancer patrol craft. Simple, reasonably sized, good firepower, living space, perfect.
here, here .. .:)
the lancer can also be modded out so, you could add a dozen or so different weapons /countermeasure ....like ,asaj ventress's cloaking device
@@davep3786 hey when one of the most interesting ideas filloni has had (ventris) likes it its probably pretty good.
Lancer's not bad, I agree.
Despite the hate and flaws of Razorcrest I still think it a great ship for bounty hunting and smuggling it can hold a squad of people
I'll always go either with the Crest, or a heavily modified Firespray (much like Slave I)
You all have some great ideas,
But blending in? Easy
GR-75
add a reinforced hull
Increase the sheild
Throw in a class 1 or 2 hyperdrive and add a duo of medium turrets.
Heck i think the GR-75 is an excellent ship with upgrades perfect for a squadron killer and light support vessel
Remove some of the cargo and replace it with a hanger.
Call it the penetrator
The SLAV 1 😂😂💯 you my friend are awesome
personally always been a fan of the GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat, even if it barely had any page time in the EU.
Carrack Class. It can be automated to fly with Two Pilots.
Skipray Blast Boat is the other option I'd take
Skipray is a great design...
Thanks for the review of these ships.
My pick for a bounty hunting ship would be the YV-929
I still maintain that my preferred bounty hunter ship would be the Rogue Shadow from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The cargo hold alone was big enough for a Jedi/Sith training holodeck-ish system. A few modifications, and it would be perfect to have an onboard sleeping quarters and prison cell transport area
I'm going to assume that the blatant mispronunciation of Slave 1 is on purpose due to stupid TH-cam reasons...
Valance is an epic bounty hunter with a great origin story
He kinda look like Nick Fury.
My favorite is the Lancer -class pursuit ship, Shadowcaster and Banshee.
When talking about the IG-2000, did he say "Slav 1"? 😯
Wait... It's a joke now? Just call it what it is! I can't listen to "Slavay 1".
Speed and stealth are everything.
All Good Bounty Hunting ships have to look cool and needs a Boss name Like Slave 1. It's a rule
The word “slave” actually does come from “Slav”, the very white Eastern Europeans who were often enslaved by other groups, especially the Ottomans
Thanks for the history lesson, but that's not reason why he's saying it like that.
@@corporalturner Why is he saying it like that? Because he also said _Slave 1_ while in the middle of his string of saying it the other way.

If I was a bounty hunter i would go for somwthing like the YV-929 armed freighter. I think it has a good size and armerent for a bounty hunter, also it being correlian means it is likely to be highly customisable.

One of my favourite designs of the really obscure ships is Vigo. It looks so good.

I believe that the Halo is the ship in the last Star Wars movie that everybody confused with the razor crest
Ya shoulda brought up the ghost from Star wars rebels and it's Phantom mini-pod and crew
Disney did not change the name. Disney purchased LucasFilm, which did not own the rights to the name “Slave 1”.
The name “Slave 1” has never been used on screen, and is probably owned by Bantam Books, or some other publisher.
The name “Slave-1” was used in the Clone Wars show by Aurra Sing.
I’ve been looking forward to this!
Having a bounty hunter ship will be so cool to have Just to be alone and do your job the way you wanted to
Take your pick of Corellian light freighters and give them a weapons package that of a bounty hunter.
"I can see how it would be offensive to Slavic people." Nice!
Are you saying slave one that way because of the algorithm? Can't you say it without demonization or something?
Slav-eh 1. You absolute LEGEND.
I will never understand the hype over the Slave 1, it always seems like a really impractical craft to me.
Very true. I think that the love for it can be lent due moreso to its novel design than its practicality.
@@tba113 It’s like that video of a pickup truck out racing a Lamborghini. The truck(like Slave 1and also the millennium falcon) was so heavily modified that it probably would’ve been cheaper to just use a Lamborghini instead.
