I think the hounds tooth is focused on Bossk's other hobby, slaving. The amount of extra space, the downward facing heavy turret, and the heavy armor. Perfect for carrying slaves and Trando slavers, assaulting villages with the mounted turret while hovering overhead, and being invincible to whatever meager resistance they can muster.

The way I see it, the hound's tooth is just that slaving ship bossk got from his parents as a gift and simply kept going with it once he became a bounty hunter. It's Literally just a trandoshan ship; designed to carry many prisoners, house many hunters and confront weaker opponents. Just look at that clone wars episode where ahsoka fights the trandoshan hunters. Same big, boxy ship.
A good point of view but other ships used for transportation of slaves were unarmed and slaves were chained down so they could escape. Also the sport hunters from the clone wars if the went up against hownstooth with their ship that has a forward quad gun that be an interesting match up

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't IG-88 interface his consciousness directly into IG-2000? Having your ship be a literal extension of your mind seems like a pretty huge advantage to me.
you're not wrong, but assassin droids are not r2 units so they wouldn't be able to do it if they were in stock form
@@-__--_--- IG 88 was not a normal assassin droid. They were all made to work differently and better. They would be able to quickly and efficiently connect to anything that they made.

It would easily be 3rd on this list. The Razor Crest lacks the weapon and performance mods to make it perfect, but it's base design holds so much potential
Missionary of the Adepta Sororitas it seemed ok in a dog fight but it did get badly damaged I see what you mean
Soul Collector still, it won in a dogfight against an actual fighter, and was able to perform a maneuver known as a Super Stall.
@@soulsobscuretoys6420 with the right upgrades, a more robust weapon suite and better hull plating, that ship could easily get close to Slave 1 in overall effectiveness.
The ghost would be an amazing bounty hunter ship.

The ghost actually has some 87 illegal modifications to areas such as stealth, shielding, I'd assume weapons as well. Overall, it's a neat ship only cause of it's modifications, I think that's what make these ships including the ones above special, their modifications.
The ghost isn't shitty nor average. It has devastating weaponry (we saw it destroy light cruisers), it can vanish out of sensors, it has a pretty good hyperdrive, it is extremely sturdy...

I think you got 2&3 backwards. The Ig 2000 is the fastest ship on this list and had stronger shields than any ship its size class, because Ig 88 modified it so he could get maximum efficiency from his engines he didn't care if that exposed the ships interior to radiation and other hazardous things as being a Droid it doesn't affect him negatively.
Also he can directly connect (according to the empire at war game) that means he can get all information from the different sensors directly
I would be willing to tie that ship to the Slave I in ranking. Yes Boba's ship is going to blast you appart but IG's will mees with anything you're trying to do to escape. And for a bounty hunter who only needs to deal with specific targets isn't that what's more important.
Idk though the IG2000 WAS fast but it didn't have the weapons capability of slave 1 at all...not even the capability to add them on... it also didn't have any hauling capability when compared for the very reasons you mentioned...IG88 needs no atmosphere...doesn't care about radiation...nothing would bother him that bothers most organics...not a fan of the "cargo" capacity comparing it either...

I agree with the list, but looking at it, I think the other bounty hunters would have accused the Fetts of being half mercenary, and IG-88 of being half assassin. To explain, when you look at their ship's weapons, they clearly expect to get into aerospace combat, whereas the others appear to intend to run away with their quarry instead of getting into starfighter duels. Bossk's ship has the laser cannon to fend off ground threats while he gets away, E-LOM's fighter is likely intended to evade pursuers, and Dengar's star-lane charter was probably built with a heavy-duty hull to start off with because of it's job (indications are that the Millennium Falcon's arrival at Alderan was unusually rough because of unexpected debris: take that, and imagine that it's common because of your job, and you have space-lane charting).
In short, IG-88 and the Fetts didn't arm their ships for bounty hunting, they armed them for assassinations, combat raids, and eliminating nosy rivals.
Well, it´s not like the Fetts are lacking any competence on their regular missions, they are just also prepared for other scenarios. Most bounty hunters also worked as assassins and mercenaries and if you have to eliminate a target in space you better have a good ship. Also it can help dealing with the targets escort or defending yourself against anyone who might follow you. IG-88´s ship actually is quite good for bounty hunting because it allows him to take out small enemy ships without destroying them meaning that you can capture your target alive without having to wait for them to land on a planet or a bigger ship.

Well, Boba also worked for Jabba and Jabba liked to see his enemies dead, so I think modifying the Slave 1 so heavily was kind of a necessary thing for the job...

I have never understood why no one see's/mentions that the Hound's Tooth is a Swingline Stapler. They put wings on a damn stapler and presented it. Someone dared someone to make a stapler into a starship, get into Star Wars and succeeded.
The Slave I has an incredibly awful target profile.
Also, having it land on its back just looks rediculous. Its like a flying cloths iron
Any hit coming from the front into the side of the ship will probably bounce off (If they do that) so it has that going for it I guess
But from the back it presents a HUGE flat target, so even if blaster weapons behaved like solid shots and could be deflected by an angled surface as we see on Slave-1's front side, the back is going to be like abig flat bullseye, especially since your engines and those manouvering wings on the sides are going to be presented too.
That´s why they improved it´s shield. Other than that the Fetts have proven themselves to be very capable of shaking off enemies fixed to their backfront.
Hard to hit a target if you’re dodging seismic charges, that’s why he put them in. They’re probably the best self defence system in Star Wars.. imagine what one of those could do to a capital ship, or setting one off inside a space station as you flee it. They’re super weapons without a doubt, shielded targets wouldn’t give a shit though I can imagine..
Slave 1 does have one immense downside.
Its target profile from behind is utterly gargantuan, and with its engines such obvious weak points, it wouldn't be very difficult to cripple it.
Sure, it had the big bombs to throw out the back, but Obi Wan showed that its more than possible to avoid them in a much less advanced fighter, and they can't exactly be precisely targeted either, what with the pilot having virtually zero direct visibility behind him.
With its questionable maneuverability, it isn't difficult to imagine a fighter getting behind it and ruining its day.

Delta-7 is a snub, that can show it's true potential only in hands of a jedi scum... Not to mention, that every Delta was heavily customized by it's pilot. Yeah, much less advanced.
Good point, but you have to remember obi-wan was a *very* experienced Jedi, and so knew where the bomb would destroy and where it would not.
The Slave I has excellent maneuverability for a ship of it´s size. Simply that fact that a Delta fighter with a great jedi pilot was just about able to *survive* an encounter with the slave one shows how deadly that ship actually is. The Slave I has some powerfull shields and to "cripple" it you would need rather heavy fire power, and again, that kind of fire power isn´t really able to avoid the seismic charges that easily.

I think asking for people’s SECOND pick would have befitted discussion more. Slave I is undisputed as the best of best, hence the Fetts reputation. As for second choice I like the tractor beam function of IG2000. The point of BOUNTY hunting is to gather your prey persay and sure anyone can dogfight but I admire the class of trying to capture them. Almost sportsmanlike in returning them as an offering to the whims of their purveyors.

The IG-2000 would be the worst one to be captured alive on. If you tried to escape, 88 would just have to jet the atmosphere inside the ship and he can instead return a dead body no worse for wear. But that Firespray is hands down the most armed to the teeth ship in cannon. I bet you that one of those missle ports fires a kitchen sink. Keep tbe legends vids rolling! Im leaning a lot

He doesnt even need to vent it. From what I understand the IG-2000 doesnt maintain an atmosphere inside at all, only in the cells to keep prisoners alive. So the minute you pop your cell your dead.

I think the millennium falcon would be the best. Comfy, roomy, fast, plenty of cargo room. I feel it would be as great for bounty hunting as it was for smuggling. If I were living as a bounty hunter and spend all that time in space my ship better be comfortable.

Although the Slave I was not necessarily the best ship, it was mastered by both Jango and Boba Fett meaning in their hands they could use it to its full potential.

If you go by the X-Wing tabletop strategy game's interpretation of The Punishing One it was an unbelievably maneuverable tank with a 360 turret. It was less about firepower and more about being able to survive for extended fights. I used it as my flagship, slap on a gonk unit to recover shields and it would never die.

Definitely balancing. I mean just look at the Falcon, famous for its speed but in game it’s a slow tanky ship instead.
TenthSgtSnipes How fast was it in real space? It was known for it's hyperspace speed, but all we know about its normal speed is that it can outrun a tie fighter. Which definitely makes it faster than in game, but not necessarily by a lot.
The Brennan I’m not particularly sure but like you said we know at the least that it outruns TIEs. But not just fighters it should even outrun interceptors right? Which are like one of the fastest fighters?

I would think that a ship that was designed to explore new routes in space would be super strong and reliable in the first place, especially in the Star Wars universe, where there could be anything from rouge factions to giant space slugs

IMHO The best bounty hunter ship would be a heavily modified *Corellian light freighter.*
Because it doesn't advertise that a _Bounty Hunter is in town._
Slave 1 lands at the local starport and everyone who has (or suspects they might have) a bounty on them knows to be on their guard. And the starport will just be buzzing with the news of the Fett's arrival - it would get in the way of the mission, your target would be alerted, and they might run away under another identity before you can track them down.
There's also the risk that someone would blow up your ship as you came in to land, as a preemptive strike. Or even just trash it on the ground while you're away, to inconvenience you.
Something like the Ghost or the Millennium Falcon, with some holding cells and hidden ion weapons would be perfect.
Locals would just assume you're another quasi legal freighter/smuggler and you can keep a low profile while tracking your target, who you can catch off guard with a planned ambush.
Even keep a little cargo capacity to aid your cover (or to do a little "high value" work on the side…), while your nondescript team find the mark.
And for in-space interceptions, it once again catches the target off guard, as a freighter just passes by and then unloads with ion weapons disabling the ship.
Otherwise when a famous Bounty Hunter in their custom ship lands, before they've gone to the local bar a smart target will be getting passage offworld while wearing a environment suit and pretending to be a alien from a non oxy/nitrogen planet.

I would like to throw out some personal opinions about a couple of the ships as well as how I would rank them.
The Mist Hunter is easily the worst starfighter both for combat and as a bounty hunting ship. The G1-A is small, which as you stated will make prisoner transport difficult with there already being a duo on board and nowhere to really keep a prisoner without drugging them. Even then despite its small size the Mist Hunter is an incredibly slow ship that's not super maneuverable as can be seen in battlefront 2 (From what I've been told.) and in the X-Wing miniature game (That dial makes me want to cry).
I would also argue that the Punishing One should be above the Hounds Tooth in the rankings as, despite not having as many modifications as it could have, the ship is very maneuverable for its size and boasts rather respectable hull and shielding. Plus the additional weapon upgrades add a significant boost to the ships offensive potential especially with the Astromech being able to move the Turret in a 360 arc thus eliminating the advantage of getting behind the vessel. It is also true that there were no prisoner cells on the Punishing One but if any of his legends material holds up this was simply because he would rather kill his targets than bring them back alive. Even if you take the ship and put it in the hands of a generic bounty hunter they could transport live bounties under similar conditions to the G1-A.
A ship I wish had been highlighted in this video was the Shadow Caster. A Lancer Class Pursuit craft piloted by Ketsu Onyo in rebels and would have also been the same model of ship used by Asajj Ventress if the Clone Wars had been allowed to continue. The ship was large and would have plenty of space for holding captured bounties, had a strong hull and decent shielding, and was armed with 4 forward facing laser cannons and a mobile triple laser turret along with a tractor beam for capturing fleeing vessels. Also despite being a rather large ship the Shadow Caster was extremely fast, the two large engines were definitely not for show as it would likely be able to keep up with just about any ship it could be pursuing.
6 - Mist Hunter: How Zuckess and 4-Lom managed to survive on this hunk of junk, let alone do any real bounty hunting is amazing and certainly speaks to their skills as pilots and bounty hunters.
5- Hounds Tooth: You have good arguments for how this ship could be improved to make it better. Though as it has been pointed out by other people in the comments the Hounds Tooth does suit the needs of a slaver ship quite nicely.
4- Slave 2: I have never really been that impressed by this ship myself, it was definitely a downgrade compared to the Slave 1 but I can see it being better as a bounty hunters vessel compared to either the Mist Hunter or Hounds Tooth
3- Punishing one: While not as heavily modified as some ships I feel like the upgrades it does have along with its maneuverability would suit the needs of a bounty hunter whos not looking to bring their targets back alive, though as already stated it would be possible to take a bounty alive if under similar conditions to those captured in the Mist Hunter.
2- IG-2000 - Excellent maneuverability, plenty of room to hold captives, and what I would consider to be a respectable armament This ship can cater to the needs of any bounty hunter quite nicely.
1- Slave 1- I mean you said it all yourself really. Despite the rather large profile given off by the ship the modifications and the armament carried by the ship would more than make up for whatever shortcomings the ship had.
If I were to put the Shadow Caster on the list I think I would place it above the Aggressor and below Slave One. I really feel like with some extra modifications the Shadow Caster would be able to keep up with the Slave 1 within universe.
Love the vid. Only thing I would've liked to see added to the criteria is how the ship suited the bounty hunters style. These ships often reflect the individual who uses them and how well that ship fit into their usual hunting strategy might have changed this line up, rather than a head to head between ships.

mohammad khan probably Republic Clone Troopers or Spartans, just because of the training since either very young age, or in the case of the clones, birth
Connor Schneider each Spartan ll they were trained for a far longer period of time (clones as you likely already know have accelerated aging) as well as having to endure the genetic modification that killed a lot of them. Clones were trained as an army while a Spartan ll is an army
It’s more fair to compare clone commandos to Spartan ll’s rather than clones, and even in that regard Spartans have the upper hand
If I was a Bounty Hunter, I would steal an Arquitens class light cruiser and I would make Commando droids and have certain ones to certain things like weapons systems and other basic things. While I would upgrade the hyperdrive to be extremely fast and also tweak the ships in which it allows me to carry a starship that I can use to land on planets while the droids are preventing any other ships from escaping. In this scenario, I would steal advanced droids with high intelligence like a K-2SO type of droid. One that can fly as well as shoot.
that chase in episode 2 was actually my favorite part of episode II, or generally Obi Wans investigation and his scenes with Jango. But the sound of those bombs...amazing!

The bounty hunter ships always represent the side of star wars ships I don't like. They are very ugly, brick like and asymmetrical. I know they have their uses but they are an eyesore most of the time

The Falcon has so many (probably) illegal modifications that it constantly breaks down and is barely flyable.
I think the ugly asymmetry is what makes them great, and what makes them unique against other sleek, shiny, symmetrical ships of other scifi ships of Star Trek and others.
seajayjoonyo I normally hate everything asymmetrical and want to burn everything that is asymmetrical. But the bounty hunters ships look so amazing and really fits the look and the asymmetry only makes it better

the problem with Halo Vs Starwars is the shielding. If the starwars ships have no shields then halo would win near everytime. MAC's penetrate meters of armor, especially the larger versions penetrating easily 25 meters of armor at the low end, but lets say starwars turbolasers have a reasonable power scale for what we see in the movies, sub-kiloton for the low end, and I'd say 5 Kilotons per shot at the top end for most ships, A mac has a very slow rate of fire, but deals out megatons of kinetic energy, so one or two shots from even a ship like Amber Clad or Forward Unto Dawn could probably disable an ISD, not destroy it completely, but assuredly cause enough damage to make it pretty much useless. If we get into the actual Halcyon-Class and Above MAC's one shot could gouge an ISD so terribly it would a be a write off with proper aim, however, the shields on starwars vessels could more than likely stop at least a few of those projectiles, maybe a dozen or more for ISD scale ships. unless you're going with post war UNSC ships with shields, I would but my money on the MC75 due to its shielding and the UNSC's lack thereof. really the only Halo weapon I could see posing a huge threat to SW ships is a Super MAC platform, what with the 300 ton Tungsten rods travelling 4% of the speed of light. one hit from that would wreck even the Executor.
Gotta love the slave 1, I mean it’s literally one of my absolute favorite ships. Not to mention that Jango and Boba both were damn good pilots. Not matter the results of this video it will always be my favorite bounty hunter ship especially in legends because by time of the legacy era boba had added so many modifications it was basically a new ship.

1. both would die the lucrehulk to the massive anti capital power of the ISD II then the ISD will die to the over 1 k star fighters the Lucrehulk brings in(the Lucrehulk could live if it had all its upgrades)
2.depends on shield strength but it is likely the ISD II would win
3. i hate my little pony and want to say Darth Vader but i know he would lose as if you investigate any of the my little pony characters strength you can tell their overpower as a heavy weight boxer fighting a five year old
4.depends if legends Palpatine is used if not then Mewtwo would likely win if so then no contest Palpatine wins

You'd think that a bounty hunter would have a top of the line ship, but I guess only Jango Fett got the memo
Ship to ship combat is great but if your collecting bounties you meed proof of a kill or a prisoner. Blowing a ship up makes that a bit hard. Id take Dengar’s approach. A ship more as a transport then take bountys on the ground. Maybe something you could smuggle in as well. Diversify your profit from your ship. Id get maybe a consular class corvette, maybe the GAR’s retrofitted frigate. Well armed, fast, and a huge amount of cargo potential. Run blockades and deliver goods. Collect a couple local bounties for gas money and move on. The only issue is you need a crew. Maybe use a couple droids to man the turrets.
