Great video and I agree with it. I do wish you had put the link of the wire box traps in the description below. Thanks for the video.

We take out all the nest predators. Regardless of what the bleeding heart folks say. I’d rather see more turkeys and quail anytime!

I had the same problem with baiting the live cage traps. My uncle showed me to dig a small hole so that the bait is level with the ground and then set the trap on top of it where the trigger will go off. Give it a shot.

And as a way to save your bait you can use a tin can like from a can of veggies and bury it.

    Jeff:
If you make any more youtube videos please jack up the volume !!
Your video is extremely hard to hear on my old laptop and I suspect that
has a very negative effect on the number of views and comments.
It surprises me how many people take the time and energy to upload
videos without being adequately mic'd up.
I had to add this video to a playlist to watch later by casting my laptop
to my TV which has much better speakers.
But I wonder how many people would be willing to do that.

I have a raccoon I've been trying to trap for months, but so far he has evaded everything I've tried, which is everything in this video and a few more things. He either steals the bait without triggering the trap or trips the trap without getting caught. I've tried hanging the bait, burying it under the trap, tying it to the back of the trap and wrapping the trap in a blanket--nothing works. Anybody have any other ideas how I can catch this critter?

    • @DakotaWoodsman

Put some food out for the opossums and raccoons that will save your nests!! A bag of feed should be good for about a week; you can actually relocate the animals by moving the feed source away from your property!!!

Louis Concordia Possums are the least likely of mammals to have rabies. Plus they eat thousands of ticks each year. They eat snakes too. They are mire beneficial than anything.
