You can bring bins ashore in Ireland. Some marinas are better equipped than other places we noticed. Arklow, Dun laoighaire and malahide have great bins😂
Great video and a great achievement on a 7m yacht! The thoughtfulness you apply to the planning and the actual passages is impressive. Looking forward to the remainder of the circumnavigation! Stay safe.
Interesting video. We are just saling this part of the Irish coast. I think we were in almost the same spot in Kinsale. The forts are Charles and James. We are in Kinsale and planning to anchor off Rosslare tomorrow, but in hardly any wind! Full of admiration for your solo sail.👏👏👏
That was an excellent video mate, and as a fellow hurley 22 owner I know and feel the cramped conditions your in but what an adventure you must be having. Keep the video coming I look forward to every addition, fair winds bud sorry weather must be a bit crappie.
Good episode, really got the feeling of frustration at the headland not arriving, I remember spending a whole day trying to beat past Brighton once, it just went on forever!
Amazing beautiful sailing episode, congratulations. Greetings from beautiful tropical paradise island Kauai, Hawaii. Wishing you fear winds and following seas 🌊 ⛵️ and wonderful adventures
Get a Victron MPPT charge controller - that will get more out of your panel and also comes with an app that tells you whats going on with draw and charge.
A great log of your trip so far, you have given a very natural and down to earth record with a seemingly very relaxed but acutely aware account of the challenges. Best wishes for the remainder of the trip, looking forward to the videos. Thank you. Your motor seems to do well, what is it please? ............Oh and I would suggest spring washers above a flat washer if possible or a proper lock nut which is probably the best option room allowing............Nylock are ok but not always 100%....
€30 for a marina, including water and electricity is amazing. Try the Mediterranean, €200 per night average for us, plus water and electricity extra. We are 53 foot
This is a great series, so glad I found it. What camera are you using? It seems to hold the horizon well, well until near the end when the stabilisation seemed to turn off 😅.
Great journal of the passage. I am dreaming of circumnavigate Ireland but I am not sure if my boat is suitable. It's a foxcub 18 .any advice you could give? P.s. have you tried sheet to tiller self steering ?
If you want to do it, then do it. In terms of suitability I know that a hurley 18 has just crossed the atlantic west to east, I've also heard of a supertanker that ran aground on wolf rock recently and required assistance. The definition of suitability in the boating world is based on three factors in my opinion, preparation, weather, and ability. Thanks for watching 😎
You put me to shame, you go around the UK and i potter around the harbour, although i actually made it up to your mooring last week, but was soon back in Hamford water. I can only conclude that the 22 is a better sea boat than the 22R, that or there's a slim chance that you're a better sailor than me!!!!!!!!! Alchemy
Nothing wrong with cold ravioli, I grew up on it sailing the Blackwater . I was 12 when I realised most parents heated it up 😅
Brilliant 👌👌
Good video thanks
Those Hurley 22s seem to be incredibly capable little Yachts!..

Perhaps you could make a stew or something when you are in a harbour and then heat it up when you need it?
I've started making larger meals in lights airs or before leaving port. Usually lasts a 24 hour trip.
