Gas could be saved with induction but generating the power requires the alternator. Our 650w of solar can cover fridge, nav and auto pilot but induction only at a pinch. I would strongly recommend a folding trailer / sack truck. We use ours for everything and it packs away to nowt. Good tip on the Circumnavigators guide. A new one is out in Feb we have it on order now. What charts did you take?
@@ooweesaler we only took Navionics as we didn’t want to fork out over a grand for the charts! And honestly Navionics was absolutely fine. We don’t tend to use induction unless we’re plugged in, for reasons you outline. Or I cook things that can be done quickly and use induction. What’s a sack truck?!

Thank you Terry. Where was your favourite spot around the UK? I think if we had to choose, Faye would pick Salcome, and Rob would pick anywhere in Cornwall. Did you circumnavigate clockwise or anti-clockwise and which do you think is best?
Hi Rob & Faye, Favourite place Falmouth area. First trip 2018 clockwise through the caladonian, second trip 2019 anticlockwise around the top visiting the orkneys Third time 2022 clockwise around top visiting the outer hebridies. In our experience no one way is harder than the other. Sounds obvious, but to fully enjoy its good to have the luxury of time, so you can be choosy with the weather!!
The Sailing Brothers don't just eat hotdogs and cheese you know. You'll give people the wrong idea because you didn't mention fish n chips, hash, and... er...something else.
Have you watched any of Sailing Sweet Ruca’s videos? They are sailing round the world with their little dog. 🐶 Btw I live five miles from Buckie and our fish n chips up here is pretty good! 😉
We haven’t seen that channel, but thank you for the recommendation, we’ll surely check it out! Haha! If you see our Buckie episode, you’ll see that we agree with you! The fish n chips in Buckie were outstanding and sensibly priced. Just what the doctor ordered 😀

your biggest saving with gas is to invest in gas safe fill bottles, i use safe fill bottles and save roughly £30 a refil, easily to refill all over the uk and europe, buy a set of valve adapters and its a huge gas cost savings.
@@hedgerowpete do you have any more info to share on this please, sounds great! Have also found that an electric induction hob is saving a lot of gas, but would still be great to have a more cost effective gas setup!
