  • Why No Videos? A quick update..... We have been out of the water for two weeks. We have undertaken what can only be described a shed load of work! Hopefully we can get splashed tomorrow and then let you know more of whats been happening in the last month...
    Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid. xx
    Welcome to our channel.
    We are now in season 7
    In 2018 we left the UK to sail around the world slowly. After Brexit, a "Pandemic" and major heart surgery we are still sailing, documenting our travels and showing you what we have learned so far.
    We are hoping to complete our journey, and travel right around the world even if we have had a few setbacks along the way. We will continue at our own pace and that may be fast or slow. We want to be sure not to miss anything and have stories to tell our grandchildren when we are old and grey.
    Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.
    We do have a second channel YOUR DRONE TV It is a mix of music from classical to blues, from Opera to Punk all with stunning drone footage.

    Lots of work. What a good looking boat 👍. We have been busy too, old Dehler sold and replacement Jenneau 37 in the sights.

    The oat is looking gorgeous, well done. Lovely to see your 2024 Plans too. I’ve been AWOL with a bloody nasty bug that gave me Respiratory Failure, Pneumonia, and thanks to an intensive Meditative Breathing Regime, and a superb Ambulance Crew, and a spell in the local ICU, only a mild heart attack. Finally Home and on the Mend thank goodness. Boat Plans have changed as a result, and I’ve now Registered an interest in a 2020 year ex charter Sailboat for release from the Charter Fleet in phase out starting June 2024, and available in the BVI. It’s a placeholder really to start communications with, as it doesn’t have in. Mast Furling, though could get a new Mast for it, upgraded standing rigging etc, if something more suitable isn’t available. Glad to see you’re both looking well, and keep up the great work. Bob still landlocked in Wales. 🙂⛵️🌟🌟🌟❤️

    The boat looks great. We also have exactly the same Bavaria from 2018. I have so far never removed the covers to the chain plates. How do you remove them as easy as possible? Thanks for great videos! 🤗

      Cut the mastic carefully away behind the cover plate. you will need an L shaped knife. On the inside you can remove the cupboard backing and see the chainplates and bolts clearly. Hope this helps Ant.

    Hi Ant and CID, can I ask if you were happy with using Ferox on your cast Irish keel.? I have a rusty area on a First 33.7 that needs treating before epoxy painting and I was impressed with the result you had. I cannot buy Ferox out here in Australia and if you have a suggestion of an alternative product I could try and get that would be appreciated..Safe sailing and good health to you and CID..cheers Brian

      Basically no. It forms a layer that the primer cannot get hold of. Sand blasting seems to be the only way and letting the keel breath for some time. Sea water gets in the cast iron and takes ages to come out..... Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid

      @@SVImpavidus Thanks guys. think it’ll be more of a text blog I’ll do, to keep costs down, but whatever boat I get, I’ll attempt a boat tour of it plus some still pictures of any nice places, as I don’t think my Pension will stretch to things like Starlink. Attempting to do things like regular videos, could be too stressful to consider for at least a while anyway. all the best. Bob, still landlocked in Wales.👍✨✨✨⛵️❤️

    Probably a dumb question. But do you have to pay for your marina berth as well as being up on the hard? Or can you pause the marina fees?

    • @SVImpavidus
      @SVImpavidus  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It comes as part of the winter deal here. You pay a little extra and get a free lift and 30 days on the hard. 👍
