I honestly think that Artic Fox was a much rarer sighting than the grizzly was. To see an Artic Fox in that environment while hunting is a pretty special experience. Really cool video guys!!!
What a fantastic journey you guys are on, ive only seen bears or grizzlies on tv, always wanted to visit Alaska, awesome video, oh by the way what's the tune you are driving along with love it..Remain blessed always enjoying your journey's. Thank you, for sharing all the information on travelling, and costs..🇬🇧
Thanks for following our Alaska journey! We also only saw grizzlies and even black bears only on TV before this trip! Hence our very excited and astonished reaction in this video. Hope you get to visit Alaska sometime, it’s a worthwhile trip.
On our trip down the Cassier (heading south, opposite of your trip) near the end of July 2023, we were stopped at a roadblock about 20 miles after turning onto the Cassier from the AlCan … we were told that we could not stop or camp anywhere along the highway for 25 miles due to the forest fires nearby. We could smell the smoke and see the haze to the west. That was creepy. We did stay in Jade City in a nice cabin right by the Jade store. No worries about the smoke or fires by the time we got down there! We did get gas in Dease Lake, I think it was $2.29/liter (gas, not diesel), and we did get a couple of things in the store. We thought about going to Stewart and Hyder but the weather was crappy so we decided against it.
The wildfires and smoke were still going strong when we were there too on the way back from Alaska at the end of August. Cassiar Hwy was closed at the Alaska Hwy intersection. So scary! So we were glad we did that drive on the way to Alaska. The cabin stay sounds nice😌
Great video ! Nice to see some changes along the way, I traveled through In 2005 I think about 200km or more was still gravel, was still beautiful just a little slower pace, This past Sept I went to Watson lake then north to do some back roads to Ross river then south Canol road Some days only drove 100km then some hikes, No set points to be at just stop when we wanted & just take it all in, In the next couple years I want to do the rest of the Yukon,
Thanks! We normally get between 10-14. But in Alaska/Canada, road conditions weren’t the best and sometimes you’re driving up and down mountains so we got between 10-11.
Still love hanging out with you guys! We're especially enjoying lately because we used to live in Glennallen, AK. Which video editing program do you suggest I use for a startup TH-cam channel? I used davinci 16 a few years ago but it was a steep learning curve and although I was getting the hang of it, I thought I should check to see if there are other suggestions before resuming.
Lots of things to consider! It’s a beautiful place to live if you are okay with the cold and darkness during winter. Seward is stunning. So is Valdez 🤩
We drove from Vancouver, BC to Tok, Alaska the last week of June/beginning of July. Isn’t it crazy to go from never seeing bears in our lives to THIS 😂 I spoke to someone else who drove up the same way as we did and they said they didn’t see any bears. I couldn’t believe it 😆 we got spoiled with bear sightings for sure. On Sunday’s video we’ll see some black bears in Valdez 🐻
At first we used iOverlander app where there’s more people (southern half of Canada) But then up north when there’s no one you can pull over where ever.
Also some sections of road are worse so you won’t be going the posted speed limit, especially if you’re in an rv. You’ll be going quite slower. Hope that helps!

We were wondering what species of fox that was! You’re right, seeing an Arctic fox in the wild like this is special 💛 thank you!
That was a cross Fox!!!!!
@@vernonhunterstickel9586 thanks for the identification of this fox, very neat!
Oh my gosh The Milepost is a must. We used the heck out of ours when we first drove to Alaska in 1992.
Yes it has EVERYTHING in there; so helpful especially on first time trips 😃

Very nice documentation. Drove the Cassiar southbound in '85, was a little bit different in those days.
I hope to get a chance to do that when I retire... Thanks for sharing 👍👍
💯 recommend doing this at least once. Hope you get to sooner rather than later 🙂
I know you will get to!

That’s the best way to do it! No set points just seeing what you see. The Yukon is a wild and beautiful place!
We drove the same highway as ya'll and got to see some wolves and a wolverine. God bless l
Oh wow that is so cool! We didn’t see either of those on our trip!
Lol.we are going to key west after the new year😅
Nice video scenery is beautiful , love the black bears. Safe travels
Thank you! This entire trip has had the most beautiful scenery 🤩
Good info! Thanks.
No problem! 👍
Awesome video!
What mpg did you get with your slide-camper?
I'm thinking of doing the same next year.

Wow! How did you like living there? We use wondershare filmora and love it. It’s pretty simple to use and has all the features we need.
@@NickandJulie loved it. I think about it every day. Id go back if I could. Thanks for the filmography tip. I’ll look into it seriously.
@@getfreethenrv815 hope you get the chance to go back. Sounds like that’s where you’re supposed to be!
Great video. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
I've actually considering movie to Alaska...been there once b4...Anchorage, seward...Beautiful

Most map apps allow you to dowload maps ahead of your trip. Very helpfull, without internet.
Great trip!
Oh yes! We forgot 😅 good tip 👍
Guys, that was Amazing! Griz and Fox. 😮
The coolest experience ever! 🤩
Nice place to explore
It really is. Pure wilderness
Thanks for the video
You bet 👍
What month did you guys do this? Most people may see one or two bears but you guys saw a bunch!
We drove from Vancouver, BC to Tok, Alaska the last week of June/beginning of July. Isn’t it crazy to go from never seeing bears in our lives to THIS 😂 I spoke to someone else who drove up the same way as we did and they said they didn’t see any bears. That's jade city there is a show on discovery Channel and TH-cam on it
We didn’t know there was a show about it! We’ll have to check it out to learn more about this place. Thanks!
Love that
Thank you! 🙂
Did you just pull over when you go tired and camped for the night where ever you wanted? Where you able to that all through Canada?
At first we used iOverlander app where there’s more people (southern half of Canada) But then up north when there’s no one you can pull over where ever.
The Cassiar Highway is where we saw the most bears on our trip to & in Alaska 😮
What’s the speed limit from the border to Alaska?
There’s multiple highways you take to get to Alaska. And the speed limit changes on them based on mountains, curves, towns, road conditions, etc.
Also some sections of road are worse so you won’t be going the posted speed limit, especially if you’re in an rv. You’ll be going quite slower. Hope that helps!
Safe travels
Thanks Bonnie 😊
When you say just a little section that wasn't paved, how much distance do you mean?
Like your music❤
Thank you! I spend a while finding the perfect music to go with the video so it means a lot 😃
May I ask the dates you did this drive? Thanks
We drove the Cassiar June 30 and July 1
Nice
If you don't support those small gas stations on route there won't be a place to get fuel at any price
That’s true too. But some folks are on a set income and need to use their money wisely to be able to continue doing what they’re doing 😉
I wouldn't want to be on my motorcycle! Lol
Noooo 😂 we saw people biking the Alaska Highway 🫣
Mez e add in….now put all together
Thanks 👍
no theres 3,78 liters in a gallon
Thanks
Welcome to Northern BC. Buy gas when you can, the next gas station may be out. And don't drive an EV.
Thank you! Those tips are 💯 true!
Welcome to the channel 👋
FYI, Meziadin is pronounced Mezi Adin.
Thank you! 👍
