    Holy cow the editing in this is so seamless that I didn't realize how increments of like 10-40 minutes were being skipped and being disguised as checkpoint resets. I was watching the timer go up and my internal clock just couldn't make sense of it.

    The fact that the wr got down to 1 hr 30 mins by Micka is truly incredible, nobody has even dared to try to beat his insane time. That’s more than 1 checkpoint per minute pace. I should mention though that after Wirtual completed the map he did get a pretty good time on the segmented version which is cp’s 1-25 completed in 20 minutes I believe. Nice time Wirty-chan

    It feels like Mr. BURLYpog might have done some press foreword mapping in his time because some of his setups feel straight out of the style, just getting the player into a position where something crazy happens and all the player has to do is not fight it. 16:45 the Younger Dryas brought rapid cooling of earths temperatures and rise in sea level - in geological terms. This means it took decades and the maximum rise of sea level was about 4cm per year. One would think an advanced civilization like "Atlantis" (should it ever have existed) would have realized that and would have had enough time to relocate 🤔

    Interestingly, one theory is that Atlantis was by the Atlas mountains (the eye of the Sahara). This theory is pseudo science at its worst, but the Sahara used to be a green river delta at the time, until it was flooded due to the melting glaciers after the ice age. It was a tidal wave that washed the Northern African kingdoms away, and the people living there fled to Egypt. These are the Egyptians we know today, they don't identify as descendants of the ancient Egyptians.

    • @goldenglasses1
      @goldenglasses1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the Sahara used to be more green and wet, but this formation is an eroded extinct volcano, not a river delta. It may be highly eroded, but it still has large traces volcanic rock. Not to mention, the shape and formation are not unique and have been observed all over the world.
      What makes the eye of the Sahara unique is its size and near perfect circle. It being big attracts attention by pseudo scientists because big things are cool and mysterious.

    You can literally see where Atlantis was on a map of Africa. It's called the eye of Africa, and is a set of concentric rings of ridges separated by valleys, that matches the descriptions of the scale of Atlantis. There is significant evidence that a large portion of northern Africa was once a lot lower in elevation, and was covered in water. There is also evidence that water rapidly rushed off of the continent, which very easily could have taken all the structures of Atlantis with it.
    Obviously what I'm saying is heavy speculation based on geographical evidence, but it's hard to ignore the signs.

    Sorry for pointing this out, but there's a duplicate clip at 1:17:36... Great video to watch while I'm waiting for my family to be up for Christmas.

    you may play offline trackmania paralell in several instances if you create wirtual machines (pun intended) and you install trackmania in every one of them, without net connection - you may have several trackmania instances offline, with the option to save the memory like in an emulator, so you could continoue the game anytime

    Be thankful Trackmania doesn't have terrible memory management. I've played games that were poorly coded and used more and more memory over time, so you could only play a finite time before it lagged to hell and you had to restart it.

    Regarding Atlantis, the most promising spot where it could have been based on descriptions of the city is actually the eye of the Sahara

    Wait, I might be wrong but aren't there like 101 checkpoints? since the first checkpoint is 0/100? Well, it doesn't really matter. Great job Wirtual and phenomenal eidting Elensar!

      1 start, 100 checkpoints, and one finish, making 101 segments. :)
