I just purchased the Samsung Note Pro 12.2. Love it! I really like the almost tacky feel regarding the back when holding it with one hand. Running it through Verizon it only knows flawless computing. So, with this said...buy it, you won't be disappointed. W
Just wondering if the new S-pens for TAB S3 and TAB S4 work on these tablets? For those who want to avoid those 'toothpicks' :-). Also how about a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2. Do you think the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 can keep up with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3? Or would it be more realistic to compare the TAB S3 with the Note 10.1 (2014)?
Personally i'm glad to be a new owner of the NotePro 12.2. Some may believe it's too much in size and price but Samsung found a way to fit my needs. :)
Does anyone know if this tablet will get Marshmallow upgrade? :-( Does anyone have any luck installing a CyanogenMod 13 in a LTE version (SM-P905)? Does CyanogenMod 13 provide complete S-Pen functionalities? Thanks.
Love your reviews! I also love the entire note series! Proudly own the note 3 phablet, note 8.0 for school, note 10.1 2014 for work and now the note pro 12.2 to replace my home pc!
Note 10.1 2014 edition = a good buy for a tablet Note pro 12.2 = better off getting a windows ultra book with pen input. . Instead of ending up using blown up android applications which can't beat the ones windows offers. 12.2 is not portable anymore. You can't lie down and read with it.. . You can't hold it with one hand and walk around. .
Bg Kumar I hadn't seen this review before,so I obviously hadn't seen your comment. I have both of these tablets (bought the 12.2 for increased real estate, and gave the 10.1 to my wife). Well, as of July 28,2017,even though my Note Pro 12.2 is 3 years old, and has a somewhat dated Qualcomm 820 chip, it still not only competes successfully, but runs circles around both the latest Microsoft Surface tablet, and iPad Pro 12.9(even with IOS 11). I've been using my tablet for every need for years now, and don't think I'd ever be tempted to go back to a laptop.
Bg Kumar By the way, I do read incessantly, mostly in doing research, and as I teach, and don't like being behind a podium, my tablet is in hand for hours each day. Also, the quality difference between PC software and Android just isn't there anymore.
Samsung has released so much already and apple is still the same things???? From note pro, to smart watches, to fitness bands, to phablets....apple is still doing the same thing, wtf???
people in my school literally only buy iPhones for iMessage and bc they think everything else is crap except for iPhones. I have an iphone and I like it bc I don't need a superior phone but it's just annoying when people are so..stupid I guess
I was thinking about getting a 10.1, but after seeing the 12.2 at the store, I was like, OMG! I WANT! I surf a lot on my tablet and I like looking at pics on Pinterest and Flickr, I hated squinting at the small pics, and I really hate having to pinch to zoom on webpages. I don't care that it's gigantic, I will still take it with me everywhere.. :)
Great comparsion! Nice to hear u bring out some of the reasons people would want the larger screen. Tired of reviewers just saying Why Samsung? Again, loved it.
Thank you for the Comparison Lisa. I was trying to decide which tablet to buy between the two. And then I saw your video and decided to go with the Note Pro 12.2. You can't go wrong with a large screen.
yeah seriously...once you go big, its hard to go back to little. And also if you think about it, just a few years ago, 13 inch laptops were not only rare (xept netbooks), but considered extremely portable.
i feel like this is like when i went from a droid DNA to a note 3. the bigger device looked unwieldy and impractical, but over time you get used to it and it's difficult to go back
What is the cradle you have the 10.1 sitting in called? Reason is I just purchased the 12.2 and looking for a circular cradle like you have for the 10.1 or some sort of docking station. Please let me know , thanks.
hi does the sketchbook pro application come with the samsung tablets free? and when using the art program can one zoom inn or out with the touch screen? any info would help. thank you.
I do wish that Samsung would support these two tablets more. And I'd love to see new versions of these tablets released - especially with AMOLED screens! They'd make a nice counterpoint to the iPad Pro tablets. We really need a new and great Android tablet with good styluses.
Very nice review. I'm considering getting one of these. The 12.2 Pro is looking very enticing for the home. I don't really see myself carrying that around to work or school (I have my note 8 for that). Thanks!
Thanks for this Lisa, I had been looking for such a comparison for so long. Unfortunately you broke my heart... :( It came too late as I have already bought the Note 10.1 2 days ago. :'(
With all the office options with the Note Pro 12.2, a keyboard case would be great. Would love it if you would review a few -- especially with BACKLIT keyboards.
Am I really the only person that got a lot of sexual innuendo from this video? " I thought 8 inches was my sweet spot", "how much difference does 2' make" hahaha
Hi, Lisa. I have to decide between a Samsung 10.1 2014 tablet and the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga. Is it actually possible to compare a 500euro mobile tablet and a 1500euro computer (apples - pears)? I guess I go for the Lenovo but is there a big difference in speed between these two (benchmarking) ? Build quality, the screen, office software, and especially the use of the pen ? Do you think the Lenovo is better in every day use, taking notes, drawing etc... ? I already have a Samsung galay tab 10.1 tablet (the first), and I hardly use it.
The 12.2 doesn't seem so big in Lisa's hands at the end of the video. The 10.1 2014 is small and portable but doesn't have the office apps on it yet.:(That's making me wait to get it. I may have to just bite the bullet and the the 12.2 Pro..
I'm going to start saving for the 12.2 Tablet, It has just arrive in New Zealand this month (March) in store. I thank you Liza for your reviews they are very detailed. Samsung may have another 12.3 or similar size Tablet out by the middle of the year then another at the end of the year in November, you never know.
The 12.2 Pro looks "too" big for everyday usage. I would definitely have to tote it using two hands. I have a Nook Colour. Its just right for reading e-books. The 12.2 is pricey also at $750 for 32g and $850 for 64g. The speaker sounds nicer on the 12.2 though. I don't listen to a whole lot of music on my computer. I think the smaller 10.1 2014 edition is the sweet spot.
The Tab Pro 8.4 is a steal at $400, have it and it does everything I need it for. Comes with Hancom office, and allows me to get the job done for work and play.
You'll can get a good opportunity to own *--Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2--* with the cheapest price. Visit amzn.to/1v8Sgt5 to get 16% discount. Good luck
I bet ppl who bought these 2 devices are regretting it now since Samsung is not supporting them anymore in term software update. I am one of them, been stuck with android 4.4.2 eversince... meh Samdung
Thanks Lisa, I'm considering the 12.2 to be my new digital sketchbook. Have you tested it with any other Wacom enabled styluses? any you've tested keep accurate tracking with Samsung devices? (the bamboo for galaxy stylus for example)
As with the Note 10.1 2014, other Wacom pens have the tip offset about a millimeter, which is maddening for art, but OK for note taking. I tried the Bamboo pen for Galaxy, Surface Pro pen, generic Wacom pen for tablet PCs and my Samsung Series 7 Slate Wacom pen. All have the mm offset.
Wow, That's upsetting that even the "bamboo for galaxy" has the same offset problem. You just saved me 40 bucks. Now I just need to decide between the 12 inch note pro or the Surface Pro 2. Thanks!
MobileTechReview Is the pen drawing lag slower on either device? In the store the 10.1 seemed a hair faster but maybe that was just an artifact of the higher pixel density.
how much difference does 2" make? .. if you compare screen areas, the 12.2 is approx half the size again of the 10.1". (PS. the area of an A4 sheet of paper is approx half the size again of the 12.2" screen)
Finally decided to buy the latest Tab S3, BUT I still have both of these and use them weekly. My note 2014 edition is my go to tablet and the Pro is strictly for work projects and some media. Tab S3 is a beast but the screen ratio is much better on the older models.
Lisa - thanks for the great review. I'm a criminal defense attorney who, on one hand, doesn't want to lug around voluminous files & on the other hand, doesn't want to be chided by the Court for breaking out my laptop during a bench conference. Hence, the tablet solution. ("Put that toy away, Mike." "It's not a toy, Judge, it's a tool!") lol I think it might be helpful when comparing devices intended to supplant laptops to demonstrate how actual file documents can be viewed, edited & managed. For example, can I read (& edit lmao) a rap sheet on the 10.1 without having to pinch & zoom, or do I need the 12.2 version. I imagine doctors want to know if they can read their charts, etc... Something that'll give us professionals a better idea of the devices actual utility when we're in the trenches. Anyhow, I really, really appreciate your fine work. Like a lot. So, thanks for all that & have a nice evening. MJM
Can these tablets replace a laptop? I want a laptop that helps me with school assignments such as documents and such would any of these work well for me?
Since it has the same display technology, the 10.1 has more sharp and crispier display than the 12.2. Also, it is lighter than the 12.2, so if your gonna read while holding it with your hands, the 10.1 should be easier to carry with one hand.
The Note 12.2 is an alluring device that lends itself greatly for productivity tasks due to its large screen and Samsungs feature-rich Android flavor. However for a few bucks more I can purchase the entrance model of the MS Surface Pro which runs full x86 Windows. That said, the Note 12.2 encroaches too far into Surface Pro territory price wise but falls short on delivering the same amount of computing power and sw flexibility. Apart from that it has not built in stand (which seems almost mandatory considering its size) and features a less elegant keyboard solutions.
i owned the surface pro 2 for 2 weeks. 8.1 updates didnt solve some problems. battery life not still great, desktop mode fonts looks awful. if you set it to 100% its almost not usable. i have the pro 12.2 now and im very happy. it has word docs and excel and other office suits. Its really close to microsoft office and they are compatible if you send them to windows running new ms office.
How can I uploaded videos onto youtube? How would I go about shrinking my file size and what file size dose it need to be set at. I have had no luck at all by calling Samsung at all with there technical service it's by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Thank you I hope you might be able to help me out.
I just got my note 10.1 couple months aho,but It is a great review...i became a bigger fan of samsung since they found note 2,which is I bought the note a year after...but it keeps me want more..waiting whats comes next. And now adays,i just resting my laptop and using my note 10.1 2014 edition.or should i bought 12"...OMG
When the 2014 Edition receives the update it will be the better product. Outside of a few software enhancements, the 12.2 is the same as the 10.1. The specs are identical, so why is it a pro? If the 12.2 had 4 or 6 gb of ram and 64 gb or 128 gb of internal storage plus external storage, then it would deserve the name pro.
10 to me is perect, the 2 inches wouldnt do me any good, only make it clunky. In store the 10 incher looked tiny as hell next to the 12 , but everything is relative. Couldnt be happier
Thank you. That was a very helpful review. I ended up with the 12.2 using it mainly for drawing (with artflow). In this case anyway, size does matter. Result? I've retired my iPad for traveling.
@2:28"...I kinda thought 8 inches was the sweet spot for me...". Sorry, but I had to LOL over that. Not my fault
***** dahhh jealous man
I just purchased the Samsung Note Pro 12.2. Love it! I really like the almost tacky feel regarding the back when holding it with one hand.

Good video. Where can we get those black stands that both tablets are sitting on thru out this video?
Have the 12.1 64 gig for some time now and do not regret splending the $$$. Well worth it. When you watch a movie you will be hooked...
Personally i'm glad to be a new owner of the NotePro 12.2. Some may believe it's too much in size and price but Samsung found a way to fit my needs. :)

You must have small girly hands. I can easily hold my note pro with one hand. I have never once thought it was too big.

what is the difference between samsung galaxy tab pro 12.2 and galaxy note pro 12.2?.... both have same specs but note pro is a little bit cheaper?
The 12.2 is $550 at Sam's Club right now so I think I'm going to upgrade to the galaxy pro 12.2 instead of the iPad Air.
Samsung has released so much already and apple is still the same things???? From note pro, to smart watches, to fitness bands, to phablets....apple is still doing the same thing, wtf???
Because hipsters buy apple no matter what happens. It's a hipster brand so what'd you expect?
people in my school literally only buy iPhones for iMessage and bc they think everything else is crap except for iPhones. I have an iphone and I like it bc I don't need a superior phone but it's just annoying when people are so..stupid I guess
Tony Soprano I'm a hipster according to others but I hate apple. I think its for simple minded people.
Zackery Angelo spot on

Lisa you always do the best reviews! Thank you much! :)
Love my Note Pro 12.2 couldn't be happier
thats what she said..
Great comparsion! Nice to hear u bring out some of the reasons people would want the larger screen. Tired of reviewers just saying Why Samsung? Again, loved it.
WONDERFUL REVIEW LISA AS ALWAYS! GETTING PRO 12.2
Thank you for the Comparison Lisa. I was trying to decide which tablet to buy between the two. And then I saw your video and decided to go with the Note Pro 12.2. You can't go wrong with a large screen.

Is there are any difference in the writing quallity between these two?
I want to know that too
Yay for interlaced video!
Thanks for the review :)
i feel like this is like when i went from a droid DNA to a note 3. the bigger device looked unwieldy and impractical, but over time you get used to it and it's difficult to go back
I always enjoy your review; your review really helps me decide which product to buy
Where did she get those stands that the two tablets are on? I specifically am interested in the one the 10.1 is sitting on.
i have the one that pro is sitting on and i bought it from my local hardware store. it folds in half and is really convenient
I really enjoy ur videos, ur very well spoken
What is the cradle you have the 10.1 sitting in called? Reason is I just purchased the 12.2 and looking for a circular cradle like you have for the 10.1 or some sort of docking station. Please let me know , thanks.
Can you suggest a good stand for the 2014 10.1" note?
hi does the sketchbook pro application come with the samsung tablets free? and when using the art program can one zoom inn or out with the touch screen? any info would help. thank you.
Are either of these tablets still a good purchase?
Which one would you recommend.?
I know, but which one do you think is better overall?

why the weather widget on galaxy 12.2 pro says 68F and on galaxy 10.1 63F ?
The weather widget on one hadn't reached it's refresh time yet.
Great review. As I wanted this to practice drawing with Sketchbook it's the 12.2 for me and my wife. This review helped me decide so thanks!
I like the 12.2 inch idea but not the fact to almost double price for 2 inch bigger screen !
Very nice review. I'm considering getting one of these. The 12.2 Pro is looking very enticing for the home. I don't really see myself carrying that around to work or school (I have my note 8 for that). Thanks!
thanks for the comparison, really well presented as always
Hey Lisa how comes you're not at MWC 2014?
Not enough going on at MWC this year to make the long and expensive trip.
OMG what a cheeseball display! Thanks for the chuckle Lisa. Love your reviews.
Hi Lisa can you tell me if this tab 12.1 have options for extra memory card and for phone sim card?
Thanks for this Lisa, I had been looking for such a comparison for so long. Unfortunately you broke my heart... :( It came too late as I have already bought the Note 10.1 2 days ago. :'(
Hey Lisa...I'm the first to view video. Great job as always.
With all the office options with the Note Pro 12.2, a keyboard case would be great. Would love it if you would review a few -- especially with BACKLIT keyboards.
the pro looks huge.
Thank you for explaining the differences in both these tablets ☺
Great, Simple, and to the point Review. Thank You.
They are same metal frame like Note 4?
I'm gonna wait for the new Xperia Z2 tablet and phone. Hope you get both Xperia Z2's soon and review those awesome products.
Am I really the only person that got a lot of sexual innuendo from this video? " I thought 8 inches was my sweet spot", "how much difference does 2' make" hahaha
NO HAHAHAHA
where do you get the coffe or tea walpaper
where to get 12" WEATHER and CLOCK widget for 10" pls?
I think it's part of 4.4 for Samsung. I'm thinking it'll be available once 4.4 comes out for the 10 inch

Does anyone know what tablet stand Lisa uses to hold the Note Pro in portrait mode?
Does both heat up quickly? I was planning to disguise them as notebooks. Going to cover it with notes side to side.
So that I can carry this freely.
The 12.2 doesn't seem so big in Lisa's hands at the end of the video. The 10.1 2014 is small and portable but doesn't have the office apps on it yet.:(That's making me wait to get it. I may have to just bite the bullet and the the 12.2 Pro..

ooo... what pill are you taking?
10.1 2014 got an update to 5.1 just a little FYI!
Does a Wacom Bamboo Feel Carbon work on either one of em?
Please compare the galaxy note pro 12.2 and surface pro 3, especially the pen inputs for notes
how much difference does 2" make? .. if you compare screen areas, the 12.2 is approx half the size again of the 10.1". (PS. the area of an A4 sheet of paper is approx half the size again of the 12.2" screen)
Does it make sense to buy one of these 2014 tablets right now? Any information about possible upcoming year 2015 note tablets?

10 to me is perect, the 2 inches wouldnt do me any good, only make it clunky. In store the 10 incher looked tiny as hell next to the 12 , but everything is relative. Couldnt be happier
Well I have the small one but now I want to change for a bit bigger one .. nice review there!
Lisa, can you do a review on the new galaxy tab pro 10.1 running kitkat?, cause the note 2014 still has jb.
It for drawing program
Thank you. That was a very helpful review. I ended up with the 12.2 using it mainly for drawing (with artflow). In this case anyway, size does matter. Result? I've retired my iPad for traveling.
tried the note pro's pen input and WOW that thing feels amazing. great pressure sensitivity and overall recognition. amazing thing truly.
