I watch your reviews all the time. They are so thorough.... much more so than most of them out there. I like your voice a lot, too. There is nothing annoying about it. Keep up the great work, Lisa!
I think I covered the lag (or lack of lag) issue in the video. The black bezel doesn't get nasty with fingerprint oils. You can use the Samsung standard feature to capture any screen and make notes on it. You can use Adobe Reader to annotate PDFs too.
I love Lisa's tech reviews. The has a knack for presenting the devices in a practical and common sense manner that really provides the information you need to properly evaluate a product without all the jargon/buzzwords/Marketing speak. the video's are really good at showing the product in non glossy or glamorous filter and reflects how it would appear in everyday life.
It just donged on me: every time I search for a review of a mobile device on TH-cam, your videos are always at the top of the list. And every time, I am impressed by your reviews. Surprised I haven't subscribed already. Well, now I have. Keep up the good work, Lisa!
you are now my number one phone reviewer....insightful reviews, honest ones, and don't forget you are funny as well!!! That's what I like about phone reviews to make me learn the specs and its details....Thanks Lisa from mobiletechreview!!!
Lisa, I know this has been said a thousand times already but your reviews are amazing! I don't post much on YT, but I want to commend you on doing such a great job. You're my go-to reviewer when it comes to tech reviews!
Yay! Looking forward to it Thanks Lisa! You give some of the most in depth and honest Tech Reviews on TH-cam. You help make buying gadgets a breeze! I'm getting the 256GB version two weeks after launch. So till then I'll be watching your coverage on it over and over again lol:)
HELLO . I AM RAMANAN FROM SRI LANKA. I AMA ALSO USING THE SAME IPAD. BUT NOW IT IS NOT WORKING. BY RESETTING COULD WE ABLE TO RECOVER THE PHOTOS WHICH IS BEEN STORED ALREADY IN THE IPAD.
You can download SketchBook (basic free version) or buy Sketchbook Pro in the US from Google Play, but it's not bundled with the device as it is for the Note 3.
Another great review by easily the best tech reviewer on the web. Saw this review years ago and I have come back to it because I am looking to buy a high end old tablet for my sons birthday (trying to save some money🏿). Thank you Lisa 👍🏿
Lisa, thanks for another great review. I was wondering if it was my internet connection too. Lisa, you do a very great review. In the future, please consider increasing the quality of your audio and camera.
I love this tablet getting the LTE version for my sons birthday but what he doesn't know is he's gonna share it with Daddy and Mom too, perfect edition to our Galaxy Note Family!
I had the Ipad Air since November 8, 2013. I just returned it (Jan 12, 2014) and got the Note 10.1 2014. Why? 1. I am used to android and needed the back button. Ipad without back button I felt lost and like I had to leave the app to go back. 2. Ipad screen was unresponsive in the very corners of the screen. I would have to keep taping away to get the screen/action to respond. 3. The Ipad just didn't do much more past basic stuff. I found it boring. Pros for Ipad. 1. Unbelievable sound from the speakers. 2. Fantastic battery life. 3. Size and weight. 4. Some apps are better written for the Ipad than the Android tabs. PS. Customer service said they have had many Ipad air returned, but very few Samsung notes, 10.1.
Another awesome review Lisa. I wouldn't think of buying a product without watching your video review first! I've now made one of my Christmas gift decisions :)
This is one of the best and most thorough reviews I've seen for this device. In fact, it was this video that helped me in my decision to buy a new Note 10.1 over the iPad Air. I love this device so far! I'm a little upset that I have to wait for the new Android OS (KitKat) when it's available for the Nexus already, but otherwise, this is a wonderful tablet. Thank you for putting up this review. Oh, quick question: the docking device used in this video, can anyone tell me where to find it (or one like it)?
Very nice review Lisa I've been waiting on this,it has the best of both worlds the nexus ten & the older note 10.1 I'm definitely purchasing one for myself & wifey
Hey folks, consumer reports 2013 rated galaxy note 10.1 (2014) the best android tablet of the year, and ipad air the best tablet period. Just thought I'd share today's news for those who may not know this. Plan on getting one eventually, just picked up the new G Pad 8.3 and absolutely love it, mostly for gaming purposes:-)
Great review! Helpful to the point where i bought this tablet after watching this (i get it tomorrow, yaaaay!). Very honest and snappy. Thanks for actually using the tablet with different apps. That helps alot. Keep up the good work! You rock. One more subscriber here!
Great review Lisa! I wonder if the Note 12.2 rumors will come true. I am interested in this 10.1 2014, but feel I should wait until after the iPad 5 reveal to see if Samsung will come out and offer a 12.2 Note :)
This would certainly be the best and only choice among current Android 10" tablets. No one else makes an Android tablet with a Wacom digitizer anymore. If you're interested in Windows and spending more money, the Microsoft Surface 2 is a really solid choice.
well getting ios or android actually depends on your needs. I love my iphone but im choosing android as my tablet as i need the multi tasking and pen for my studies which ipad doesnt have (yet?) and with android i can do stuff i cant with my ios, well in some cases my ios has more apps than playstore but then again i dont need those. The most important apps are in android (for me) so i choose android for my larger gadget, ios for my phone, and win8.1 for my pc. All have different uses, needs and functions for my life to be more vibrant! :D im no apple, android or brand fanboy coz i love how different company has their own advantages and disadvantages. so why not get them all! :D
***** hehe yeah i saw that in amazon.co.jp and i can get free downlaod of many books too! But i chose galaxy note 10.1 because im planning to root and get custom os here in this future. This has so many root community than other tablets reason for choosing this
Really good review. I enjoyed it. I also LOVE this tablet, I don't think it looks that bad though. I agree with you about the speakers, best idea when they were on the front.
Great review as always, really appreciate your efforts! Totally agree with you on the buttons, I detest losing display area for onscreen buttons which I find to be less reliable anyways (and they require 2 touches if they are hidden).
Hi Lisa, nice review, just wondering if there is an option in the settings to keep the upper tab on display (the one with the clock & battery, like the 10.1 2013)? I really liked the tab of options on the previous note 10.1! Thanks
Hello. First of all, great review. Secondly, I just wondered where you got that stand that you were using in your review. I'm in the market for a tablet right now and this one looks pretty promising. But anyway, thanks again for this review.
From what I understand the app on the Note 2014 edition is called "SketchBook for Galaxy" Looks and works the same as Sketchbook Pro.You have to get it from the Samsung App store as it is not free on Google Play. Some people are also saying that the app was installed after doing a system update.
I'm curious to know why you feel that way. I had an original iPad, as well as an iPad 4 - the difference w/ the iPad 4's high res display is like night and day compared to the iPad 2. You can read much smaller text on it that you wouldn't be able to on the iPad 2, and text in general is so much clearer. It's such a significant difference.
It still has the Android lag. Every single review I've read/watched mentions the lag. I'm not going to put my faith in a magical future update that promises to fix the lag that may or may not materialize. Have been stung too many times with Android products.
Another great review. Thanks! I have one question. Apologies if it's been asked and answered as I have yet to find out. Will the ink to text feature of MS OneNote work with the S Pen on this tablet?
Looks very impressive and well featured enough to ignore build material issues. Hope there is decent accessory cover to protect that beautiful screen. Overall I think this is a high quality, , versatile, well featured tablet. S pen finally makes sense on this device, not so much on myNote 2. Also waiting for release of Ativ Q.
I just got one for 329 on black friday. I am used to ipad. But my iPad 2 is getting sluggish now. I also have galaxy note 3 and love it. One of things I noticed with this tablet is it gets warm at the back after few minutes of use and one of the most annoying is on TH-cam app when you go to fullscreen, somehow the track control on the bottom disappers. I tried to tap many places on screen but no avail. Hit back button and full screen mode turns off and the controls are available. If anyone knows of the solution please let me know since this will be one of my wishlist on whether I would keep this tablet or not (I know I got it for dirt cheap but I use youtube on tab about 25% of time.
Great review Lisa ( as always ) , i have two questions ( they maybe silly ) can use an ,srt (for translation) for movie on tablets ? and the other one can i use the same account of whatsapp on 2 devices (like on tablet and smartphone) ? thanks
Thanx for the good review Lisa so as you always do, the last step I had to make to buy the new Note. But strange that Skechtbook Pro isn't available in America because here in Europe I could install Sketchbook Pro for free.
I've had this tablet for a week or so now and I love it, especially the s pen. On the subject of tablet's having a camera on them, when I use my phone's camera my hands shake badly as I'm not good at holding small cameras. I feel that holding the tablet will be easier. At least I hope so. I've used the s pen a few times and it works great for writing an email instead of having to type it.
It's definitely a big step up. I like your view it will be interesting to see Microsoft surface 2 how they implemented improvements. sad to say there it is said that they're not improve the cameras too much. i've always had a theory Lisa it gets to a point where for tablet you might as will buy a laptop for the value ratio than my opinion at least. Thank you so much for your review. I don't know much about computers or tablets so I appreciate a detailed review where I can learn something and not just be shown what I can figure out on my own :)
Lisa, I have the 3G version of the old note 10.1, I love it and take it everywhere, since my sim card is in it I end up using it to answer calls as infrequent as they are. I have a wireless blue tooth headset and it's so small that I came up with an idea to integrate a the headset into the Spen, it's still a work in process but I'd like to know what you think about that.
Great review Lisa. Do you know of a way to use the S pen to selectively capture an image, and simply have it copied to the clipboard? With the 8 and previous gen of the 10 you could just clip, then tap the clipping and it would automatically save to the screenshots folder. I couldn't get this gen to do anything other than "share" to another app. Thanks!
Only Lisa can make a 30 minute product review entertaining
I watch your reviews all the time. They are so thorough.... much more so than most of them out there. I like your voice a lot, too. There is nothing annoying about it. Keep up the great work, Lisa!
Just bought this tablet on black Friday have been loving it 100%
I think I covered the lag (or lack of lag) issue in the video.
The black bezel doesn't get nasty with fingerprint oils.
You can use the Samsung standard feature to capture any screen and make notes on it. You can use Adobe Reader to annotate PDFs too.

My favorite tech reviewer...most complete reviews on the net
Lisa gives the most in depth intelligent reviews on tech.
you are now my number one phone reviewer....insightful reviews, honest ones, and don't forget you are funny as well!!!
Great review, Lisa. I am getting this for Christmas from my fiance and now I am even more excited to tear it open :D
We will review the Surface Pro 2. I can't wait either!
Yay! Looking forward to it Thanks Lisa! You give some of the most in depth and honest Tech Reviews on TH-cam. You help make buying gadgets a breeze! I'm getting the 256GB version two weeks after launch. So till then I'll be watching your coverage on it over and over again lol:)
Hell's yeah! Them two Tablets are gonna destroy the competition!!! And it just gets better!
HELLO . I AM RAMANAN FROM SRI LANKA. I AMA ALSO USING THE SAME IPAD. BUT NOW IT IS NOT WORKING. BY RESETTING COULD WE ABLE TO RECOVER THE PHOTOS WHICH IS BEEN STORED ALREADY IN THE IPAD.
LOL, it's amazing how popular that Stump stand is-- everyone asks about it in our reviews!
Soothing voice. Straight to the point with actual usage.
Lisa, thanks for another great review.
I was wondering if it was my internet connection too. Lisa, you do a very great review. In the future, please consider increasing the quality of your audio and camera.
The stand is called the Stump and it sells for around $20.
Samsung and cell carriers haven't announced or priced the 3G/4G versions yet.
I love this tablet getting the LTE version for my sons birthday but what he doesn't know is he's gonna share it with Daddy and Mom too, perfect edition to our Galaxy Note Family!
I'd love to review the Cintiq Companion, but Wacom seems to have no review program for it. Bummer!
The tablet stand is called "The Stump" and costs around $20 US.
Thanks for reviewing the GNote 10.1 2014 edition! Great as always!
I haven't found a way to change the default background for a given template.
To my knowledge, still the best all around Android tablet.
Our full written review on MobileTechReview covers this- short answer is that Samsung hacks the OS to allow apps2SD.
I had the Ipad Air since November 8, 2013. I just returned it (Jan 12, 2014) and got the Note 10.1 2014. Why? 1. I am used to android and needed the back button. Pros for Ipad. 1. Unbelievable sound from the speakers. 2. Fantastic battery life. 3. Size and weight. 4. Some apps are better written for the Ipad than the Android tabs.
PS. Customer service said they have had many Ipad air returned, but very few Samsung notes, 10.1.
use the home button
Can't tell if you're being honest or just making up a story to spark a fanboy war between Fandroids' and iSheeps'.
I like the Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet it has all the tools for school & Business purpose. I'm definitely getting this one.
You can install an app that adds NTFS support, but you have to root the tablet to do that.
Lisa I love yiur reviews but please upgrade your camera so we can get a better visual with the reviews
This does work with external hard drives. It just doesn't support NTFS format.
Lisa is my favorite reviewer!

Oh, quick question: the docking device used in this video, can anyone tell me where to find it (or one like it)?
I've gotten two firmware updates already but no Sketchbook for Galaxy in the process.
Very nice review Lisa I've been waiting on this,it has the best of both worlds the nexus ten & the older note 10.1 I'm definitely purchasing one for myself & wifey
We will review the new Kindle HDX in a few days. Definitely much improved performance,

No NTFS support period, you'll have to format SDXC cards as ExtFAT.
Love your reviews. Very detailed and lengthy, just how it should be.
Yes you can use Samsung Link with this.
The significant difference between the Xperia Tablet Z and the Note 10.1 2014 model is the S Pen on the Note and its higher resolution.
Yes, it does take forever to charge, just like the Nexus 10.
I wish they released all the notes at this time. Would love to see the next note 8 using this sort of design and some thinner bezels
Great review Lisa! I wonder if the Note 12.2 rumors will come true. I am interested in this 10.1 2014, but feel I should wait until after the iPad 5 reveal to see if Samsung will come out and offer a 12.2 Note :)

Like all Android tablets, it has an accelerometer and 4-way screen rotation.
Can't wait to see your review of the upcoming MacBook pro and Nexus 10 refresh. I appreciate your unbiased opinion.
Great review, I have one on the way 32g Black WiFi. Can't wait !
When the 4G LTE version comes out, it will have the Snapdragon 800.

We will review the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2.
Really good review. I enjoyed it. I also LOVE this tablet, I don't think it looks that bad though. I agree with you about the speakers, best idea when they were on the front.
Lovely tablet! Great review.. I have been waiting for this one for a while.

I love this tablet. Im planning on getting one as a present to myself and maybe a smaller tablet from the nexus line for a semi mobile purpose.
Hello. First of all, great review. Secondly, I just wondered where you got that stand that you were using in your review. I'm in the market for a tablet right now and this one looks pretty promising. But anyway, thanks again for this review.

The coffee mug wallpaper came with the tablet.
Hi lisa, Thanks for the awesome videos. Can This tablet be used upside down. in order to connect the hdmi cable easely.
It still has the Android lag. Every single review I've read/watched mentions the lag. I'm not going to put my faith in a magical future update that promises to fix the lag that may or may not materialize. Have been stung too many times with Android products.
Lisa, where did you get that tablet stand you are using? That's so handy!
Can't wait for Lisa to review the Surface Pro 2!!!

Another awesome review.....I have the Note 8 but I want a little larger too.
You'll only get new software and features if Samsung pushes and update to your tablet.
Great review !!!!! Do you think it'll come in an 8in version ? For 2014 design ?
Thanx for the good review Lisa so as you always do, the last step I had to make to buy the new Note. But strange that Skechtbook Pro isn't available in America because here in Europe I could install Sketchbook Pro for free.

I love this tablet! I bought it a week ago and love it! It's super awesome!
The Vaio Flip is out. When can we expect a review of it? :)
pretty cool review, thanks! :) btw: I like that coffee mug wallpaper, where can I get it?
Lisa you are perfect reviewer really nice job :)
P.S. not a bad video game player as well
Hi Lisa, great review!, can you tell me how is the battery life??? Better than the first one??? Thanks
Lisa from where do you get your cool wallpapers?? Please tell me :)
Lisa, youre an excelent presentoer and youre reviews are very high quality, keep on the good work!!!
No, Samsung didn't bundle Photoshop for Android this time, so you'd have to buy it for $10 on Google Play if you don't already own it.
All considering that really isn't so expensive compared to a surface pro at 900 though it does have a beast of the processor by comparison
Love this product! Thanks for the great reviews as always!
Art programs on Windows are more mature and varied. If you like pencil sketching then the Note 10.1 and Android will do nicely. For natural media paint tools like oils and brushes, Windows programs are still better. Airbrush is decent for Android, the rest of the brushes not so much.
you can import pdf files into S Note and do whatever you want, for example highlight something or write side notes
Very good review, thanks!
Yes the GPS works without WiFi.
Your reviews are awesome.
I am asking for a side by side comparison between this tablet and ativ tab 3 with windows 8.
Hy Lisa! Could you please tell me if you can draw in S NOTE placing your hand on the screen? That is can you place your hand on the screen while you write?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english. Congratulations for the video, very clear!
Nice Kitty! Would be great to have a side by side Note 10.1 2014 and Surface Pro sketch and overall pragmatic use for artists. However, my feeling right now is this is the ticket for me as a sketch artist. Looks like photo editing should be good enough since I use photos as sketch backup.
How do you think this will compare to the Gen 2 Nexus 10 due out shortly. Im torn b/t the two. I like the stylus idea, but I like being on Nexus to get priority Google updates. Spec wise, how will these two tablets differ?
Thanks!
Im looking forward to the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2. Will you review that too ?
