I ran your idea of 3 hellhounds and 3 vanquishers with 6 chimera, smashed some necrons
I did the same but with Demons. I had a great moment where a host of blood drinkers charged a chimera and I overwatched killing the entire unit
Same yesterday, except i played 3 exterminators instead of Vanquishers and won 88 - 64 vs canoptek court☺

I mostly play OPR, and lemme tell ya, proxying is the best

Loved it! Ftr at one point the Traitor Guard should have had cover even out in the open cos they were on an objective and they have their own version of the Guard Infantry Squad special rule. Also I kinda got the impression that you were acting like you had to choose one blessing of chaos dark pact ability each time for your whole army? Like you regretted not having lethal on one unit. But you can choose on a unit by unit basis, it would make you much more flexible.
That said there was one thing you could have used but I think you just didn't see coming and is very powerful against Guard. You knew in advance that reserves were going to come in and threaten your back field. But you had a unit with 5ish members you could have spread out and then spent a strat to give a 12inch no coming in from reserves bubble around them. That could have protected your backfield maybe getting you 5 extra points and getting you a win on +3 points.

jesus, nearly the whole guard army was still left on the board... but it still was super close. With a few little tweaks the alpha legion could be juicy

Custom kitbashed units are good and honorable units. This is something else.
Small rules mishap on Turn 3, chaos terminators reroll all hits if they use a dark pact in shooting or close combat. You forgot to use that.
17:00 devastators are only 120 for 5 and 200 for 10. You get four heavy weapons in there. I run Devs in my Anvil Siege Force list. They’re not bad.
New anti armor meta, 2 Armored sentinels and a vanquisher.
