I lost a dear Uncle to leukemia last week. He was 62, never married and no kids. He was a sweet, gentle soul. It caused me to reflect on what is important in life and how short our time is on this planet. The modern world is a crazy place and unfortunately people are not the nicest at times. Time and time again I return back to this travel channel. It always feels like home to me. It must be my wandering spirit. You’re living the best life Gabe! Enjoy every moment! Thank you for this amazing travel channel.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m sorry for your loss 😢 I’m 67 and hearing of people in my age group dying so young hits close to me. Do not be afraid to travel. It’s not as scary as you think.
Thank you for your kind words.
I also am sorry that you lost your uncle. Whether 62 or 92, it is never enough time with those we love, and we think they will be with us forever. You are part of the Gabriel traveler family. Talk to your uncle sometimes when you need to, if you have Faith he is always to be with you on your wandering.Cheers,Rob
True words and beautiful. Thank you Rob.
These are the gems that reveal the true worth of visiting Greece. Not shattered by mass tourism, amazing historical ruins and an amazing beach. Thanks for the video.
The islands with little tourism are the best
My Friend ,To the sea near to Kea is the Shipreck of HSM Brittanic, the brother ship of Titanic.
Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, another beautiful Greek Island pops up. Kea is gorgeous. Greece has so many Islands to explore. Would have been amazing swimming in the crystal clear water of the beach, with no other people. Lovely to see Ana again, and great you are showing her the Greek Islands. Life’s good! Cheers and have fun! 🍺😊❤
It ain’t officially summer until Gabriel posts a video from a Greek island! 🏝️

🍷 🍷 Amazing scenery!!!
Have you ever noticed on your fair trips Mr Traveller to the glorious Greek Islands ,how immaculate they are kept and how fresh and wholesome they look on screen ? I certainly do ...nice one ,yet again !
this humble island of Kea is "world famous" among experienced divers for two very important and famous shipwrecks
1. the wreck of the Britannik (sister ship of the Titanic) which was sunk in 1916 by a German mine and discovered in 1975 by the famous French oceanographer Jacques Cousteau.
2. The wreck of the French ocean liner Bordigala, possibly sunk by the same German submarine! in 1916, and discovered in 2008 by a local group of divers.
3. There is also an old Greek steamship and a German WWII Junkers 52 bomber...
Cool.
Very interesting contribution. I had read where it sunk somewhere in the Mediterranean, now we know!
@@RG-cz1tc I assume you mean the Britannik. It's not a big contribution - as I said the wreck was discovered by Jacques Cousteau with his famous ship Calypso in 1975 who explored it with his team. It is located very close to the port of Kea (about 3 km), at a depth of 120m (400 feet) so only very experienced divers go down...
Leros holds a LOT for those interested about second world war relics both above and below surface.
Hi Gabriel, oh it's nice to see you're not alone Anna joining you nice to see the only thing you're going to those tourist attractions that you have already seen. You'll make the best of it and leave once it gets to crowded.
You can also visit Agistri Αγκίστρι a very small and green island near Athens and near the other island Aegina Αίγινα. Both very close to Athens as is the island of Salamis Σαλαμίνα well known for the battle of Greeks vs the Persian empire in 480 BC.
Been to both of them: th-cam.com/video/z0ANSi8u2_8/w-d-xo.html

Thank you, truly feels like you’re walking in the same place you are! So interesting and beautiful!
Welcome back Anna!
Thanks for taking us along! It is my dream to visit Greece. That and Chile, my father's country. Safe travel, peace!
Stop dreaming and start doing!
Gabriel on a random greek island.
Heaven on Earth
God bless you Gabriel!
Such an incredible look into ancient history
The drive from Lavrio to Athens when you take the route across the coastline is very scenic. I don't know if you took that drive, probably you didn't since it takes longer, so you took the boring inland highway route. I think that coastline route deserves a video or two of its own.
❤ I like to visit that Island, thanks for transport me there ❤. saludos 👋
Good job bro 👍Thanks for sharing and enjoy your time in beautiful Greece guys 🇬🇷🏖😁✌
Greek The Mother of Orthodox Christian Church! It saddens me when I think of today Christianity!
christ is not god so they should not be called ( christians) because they are not followers of the christ
It is a cult. Yes, sad.
The story of Greek history as shown in Gabriel's exploration is the story of the Greeks having the conviction to defend their faith. More power to them.
@@RG-cz1tc Yes, it's sad what happened to them. Hopefully they can become as average again
Nice video. Great to see these places which I frequent through the eyes of someone who is visiting Greece. Greece has so man hidden pockets and surprises.
Loving the Greek adventure
Thankyou for showing us mysterious Kea! I've only seen it from the ferry whilst heading to farther-flung cyclades but I will have to visit ;) It's astounding how different the atmosphere/scenery is to Epirus and the lush green west coast! Can't get better than Ellada
Your reduced video content over the past week is much appreciated, I thank you for timing it to conincide with the full slate of NBA and NHL playioff games, very considerate of you.
33:07 wow! Spectacular! 🎉
Gabe great to see you in the excellent company of Ana. She's a great story teller too. The Dynamic Duo y'all! Now you're making great stories together. AWESOME! Viva Mexico!
So nice Gabriel. Good for Anna to get to see some of Greece. After this she has seen more than me of Greece. I have only been to Athens so far. Even though I have been travelling way more than all my friends and relatives, most of them, if not all, have been to one or many Greek islands but not me .......🙂
Αh !! another rocky diamond of ours !! welcome Anna,!!💙✌
In ancient times, the inhabitants of Kea island, used to commit suicide, during symposiums,by drinking conium(hemlock) like wine, with all their relatives and fellow citizens in a celebration atmosphere. Some because they were old,and didn’t want to live with the fear of old age and problems, others because they were already ill.Euthanasia parties. It’s true,I’m not kidding. Also, the conium Socrates drank and die, they say,it was from this island.Local product.
Wowwww....😮
Awesome beautiful beach and what a fantastic travel partner you have.😊
33:20 water is fantastic as usual
beautiful
Another Awesome and Amazing Adventure Thank You Gabriel 🙂❤👍
Ελλάδα ❤❤❤❤
A charming island.Maybe you attract more tourists there with your videos.Meritorious work,Gabriel!👍
Hopefully not 😂
Why would you want more tourists? Tourism can destroy
@@Gk-ug6gu I understand your concern,,,😊
@@CallumScottieCambell It is not my wish, just a statement.😊All tourists are not just destroyers, some are discovering the beauty of Greece.
@@janakotrcova2790 it's not that simple Jana. Tourism pollutes, and some places don't have the infrastructure to handle the effects of too many tourists.
Kea Island is mostly for Greeks who escape from Athens. There are no airplanes, only a ship from Lavrion, which is why there is no tourism."
Aegina is also 1 hour from Athens 😊 btw. Did anyone notice Mr Green Plant @ 16:17 minutes 😮 interesting 👍🏻 you really do get around Gabe 😎✌🏼that “ bush tunnel “ is a very ancient pathway 😮 probably dates back over a thousand years 👍🏻 safe travels dude 😊
I just hope that people that watched this Greek roadtrip is not to be copied. The distances and the speed going all over the place in no time makes one lose so much to experience..
You would be the same type of person to whine if Gabe didn't post as frequently as he does from the different places he takes us to all over the world. Do you not see that he approaches his travel like a job? He is responsible & efficient with his travels. He sincerely looks like he enjoys the experiences. Also, you do not see what happens off camera. You should stop judging and start living.
Amazing 🍺🍺
You and Anna are great together ❤❤❤❤
No thanks
Kea (Tzia) has a special place in my heart. I discovered Kea in the late 90’s and dream of living there in retirement. Go visit Agleia Kremezi she is a famous chef who lives on the island.
Is she hot?
Great video from Kea mate! I hope you and Anna are having a great time! Yammas 🇬🇷🍻
Hey Gabriel, we are coming to Kea today, are you still there? Want to meet in person so much man!! You've been a massive motivation for me to travel! 💯💯
Howdy, my videos are delayed, I left Kea about a week ago. Have a great time. ✌️😎🍺
I like the Churches . saludos
Anna has some great stories! Did you say she was from Mexico but lives in New Mexico? Fellow, New Mexican here!! 👋😀 awesome beach for you guys to have all to yourselves!!!
Yep, that's right.
Damn ..I am an hour from there and I haven't visit yet..thank you.
what an experience
I love baklava , but I die for Galaktooureko , saludos
Go to Izmir to enjoy the best baklava and Turkish delight 🇹🇷
Paradise 🇬🇷🌊💙
Paradise 🇹🇷❤️
This is absolutely one of the best greek hikes I've been on,
It is just simple sentence and i really understand what about, but when it has in my feeling i can't really out this words of my tongue😅
The Greeks do not go to Kea in the Summer, They go in the Fall, Winter and Spring !
But why not in the summer ? Because Kea has very few trees and you have no shade at the beach in the summer !
Kea or Tzia as Greeks call it, belongs to Cyclades islands same as Mikonos, Santorini, Andros, Paros, Naxos, etc. And its closest of this islands to Athens.
I could have done without hearing Ana’s giraffe story. I was having my lunch!
My Tavern in Psirri 😍
Nice site with ruins ....
Hi Anna❤
Great Video Gabriel. To be honest I much prefer these low Touristy islands to those over infested with people. Much more authentic as they are not chasing money from Tourists.. The 1949 probably refers to the floor being donated to the church... I see it in Churches here in Australia, wealthy Greeks donating items and the Church recognises them with their name and date :). 26:43 The site was funded by the European Union and the Greek people to preserve and restore these ruins for people to visit. As for the building it could have been a dwelling for workers for the site but I'm not certain ...or perhaps they had a Park ranger of sorts who lived on site.
Right on, good to know. ✌️
I hear that Sweden just purchased the island, and it will be called IKEA!
Nonsenses..
Oh man, at that place where the musicians were playing, about a dozen years ago, I got so wasted on ouzo and then I had to ride my bicycle all the way back to Halandri, in the northern part of the city. Next day I was all bruised up. Never mix alcohol and wheels ever since.😂
You must have been drinking cheap ouzo, not the good stuff. 🇹🇷
@@DeputyDog-mh1yo It was Πλωμάρι from the Island of Lesvos, which is famous for the ouzo distilleries. I just don't have much tolerance for it.
@@spy967 ok, I understand. Perhaps a glass of warm milk 🥛 maybe more suitable.
@@DeputyDog-mh1yo Thanks for the advice tough guy.
@@spy967 Well, I guess I'm tough enough to handle a few shots of ouzo pal
Pure Greece..
Thanks Gabe 👍🙏🏴

Great video. One Greek Island I have been to is Aegina. Have you been there, Gabriel?
Yes: th-cam.com/video/k8GvTTReOrA/w-d-xo.html
I thought, at first, that the Swedes had bought an island.
It is an oven for Asbest or tiles
Gabriel! 52nd islands! But you need to vlog al little more to show them all! :)
6,000 islands
The islands are the main characteristic of Greece's morphology and an integral part of the country's culture across the ages. The country includes 6,000 islands and islets scattered in the Greek Seas, of which only 227 islands are inhabited.
227 inhabited islands, but that must include a lot of tiny islands where only a few people live. Because looking on the map I'm getting pretty close to visiting all the major ones.
Actually nowadays it's only about 110 islands that are still inhabited.
millipedes don't bite , centipedes painfully bite
That's what I was thinking. Saw some crazy centipedes in Hawaii: th-cam.com/video/IsEgXqA3HlY/w-d-xo.html
Merci!
Thanks a lot, appreciate it.
Hi Gabriel if you are willing can you check out the hot spring on KEA? Thanks 😊
I thought you may of been meeting up with another vlogger you bumped into on the bridge in the Himalayas, Sean King / Vlogging a dead horse , only because he said he’d contacted you whilst both in Greece to see if you could meet at some point .. alas not to be
Go on a Safari ive always wanted too so I hat i can 😂
Those plants lined up with white flowers are onions
Good to know.
Mr. High-roller with a companion. 😜👍🔱may we demand more? Oh yes we can
Nah
What is a good area/place to stay for a couple of nights in Athens? We're in Italy for a month and looking for another experience for the fifth week of our travels. Haven't been to Greece since 1995 and these videos are bringing back memories and making me want to go back. By the way, we're looking at going to Greece from Oct 29 - Nov 6.
Around Monastiraki square, there are lots of cheap hotels about a fifteen minute walk from there.

Yes, I've seen quite a few snakes on Greek islands.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos i was in G4eece in 1979 we as a family. sailed in rhe islands . We saved on acomodation as we stayed aboard and had 3 four wheelers for local tranhsport
There is no dangerous snakes or anything venomous in Greece Gabriel! There are more chances of anything else, than snake bites etc. Thanks for the cool videos man!! Your Greek are getting better and better!
Well there are venomous snakes but not considered lethal, the Ohia is a venomous viper found throughout Greece.
I thought there were vipers on some islands that are venomous.
@@GabrielTravelerVideosThis time of the year is were snakes wake up from hibernation and their poison has the most load, few days ago a man was biten by a snake and ended up in a critical condition in the hospital, fortuantly now he is ok.
The only venomous snake in Greece is the OHIA Οχιά = viper. The very long snakes are non venomous.
