Hey Gabe, love the Greek videos. If your plans arent set, i suggest a visit to Naxos. The villages on the island are exquisite (especially Apeiranthos) and the beaches on the eastern side are some of the best in Greece. Also, you can finally visit Delos, which is a short ferry ride away from Naxos.

Gabriel, as much as you love Greece, you should move there for one year on Nomad Visa. I and so many others could definitely watch one full year of Greece. You wouldn't run out of content for a while, and we could live vicariously through you. 😊 It's such a beautiful place!

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos

I looked into it, the problem is that one of the requirements is you have to show proof of accommodation. I couldn't and wouldn't plan out a year of hotels in advance hopping around Greece. So you would basically need to have an apartment somewhere rented long-term. That's something to consider in the future, but not something I'm ready to lock in at this point, staying in one place in Greece for six months or a year or whatever. Maybe at some point in the future I'll find the place that feels right to do that and apply for the visa.

I 've been in Andros island, but you have shown places that I haven't seen! Thank you! Building with stones and, also old stone bridges, are not common on the islands, but they are common (and well preserved) in the mainland. If you ever visit the mainland, you can find whole villages built this way, that are still inhabited (the area of Zagorochoria, for example). It's a different part of the country, very traditional and beautiful.

You should go to Thassos Island before it is packed with tourists. You Should Go to : 1. Marble Beach (the smaller one called Saliara, not the one next to the marble port), 2. Chryssi amoudia (golden Sands) north side and middle is better, 3. panagia village, 4. Paradise beach, 5. Alyki , 6. Psilli ammos 7. metalia, and there are many more smaller hidden beaches that i leave to you as a surprise if you want to explore you will be rewarded. There are also antiquities starting from limenas, and again surprises with hiking. The Island is a mountain made mostly out of white marble, it is unique om that. It is small but if you want to explore the hidden treasures you may need 5-6 days. The east side is green with forrests, and the west side has been burnt many times ... so it is like the rest of greece

@@SamDiMento to be fair though it's not easy to learn as a foreigner! After 30 years I am still not 100% accurate with all the grammar but I can get through the day without having to lapse into English. But yes it wouldn't take a lot to add to the vocabulary a little 🙂

@@normanlee31 Greek has a very complex grammar and lexicon, it's true, but it isn't any harder than any other language to learn phrases like "What's your name" "I'm from New York" "How are you?" "Where is _____"? "How do I pronounce the place I'm going to?" is a good basic question to ask oneself. lol

It's not the "greek easter" it's the orthodox easter. This includes Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Greece, Georgia, and all of the other orthodox countries.

All the above mentioned countries are not orthodox christian. Especially not when alien to European culture on top of that. A country cannot be something, just as it cannot "be" atheist either, as myself for example. I call this week the celebration of the "bar mitsvaz" when referring to orthodox (fanatical ones) Greeks. :)

Yes, what a nice conversation of non sense, gibber, from that laughable leftist (with the ugly non-practical "jacket west" that so many ugly leftists in Greece wear XD). "Whole Greece is like whole California" if i heard correct? Also funny that "nationality" thing he mentioned about himself and in comparison with other European tribes. 37:50. Just as Hellenes (am one myself), the Germans, French and Italians etc ALSO have history that goes back. He does not even know European history in general, haha. "We understand ourselves as Greeks". Good for you! XD. But yes, leftist unintelligible gibber is always entertaining to hear. :D

People from the island of Andros have been traditionally involved in maritime business (see merchant marine / trading by sea), with several of them being ship owners ......as a result, there is a certain wealth on the island.

i couldn't understand your word "hora" but did find the word "Khora" if you read the following it seems "Khora means countryside" even though it seems like it means "core". (The ancient word polis had socio-political connotations not possessed by the modern. For example, today's πόλη is located within a χώρα (khôra), "country," which is a πατρίδα (patrida) or "native land" for its citizens.[3] In ancient Greek, the polis is the native land; there is no other. It has a constitution and demands the supreme loyalty of its citizens. χώρα is only the countryside, not a country. Ancient Greece is not a sovereign country, but is a territory occupied by Hellenes, people who claimed as their native language some dialect of ancient Greek). so I hope that means something to you. I have heard Andros is popular and beautiful.. great video.
