My go to EDC knife. Used to carry a Leatherman ( never really used it ) Went to the SwissChamp ( was too much and too heavy, but lighter than the Leatherman ) Then went with the Deluxe Tinker. Keep it in a leather sheath with a small Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA. Added Plus scales to my Deluxe Tinker so I have a pen too.👍 Keep up the great videos! Enjoy them and also when you and Slippy collaborate on videos too!
I love the idea of the small pliers but me being an Alox fan. I really wish Victorinox would do a 93mm alox model with pliers. All they need to do is take the farmer x and replace the saw with pliers and it would probably become my favorite sak lol. Great video as always
The Deluxe Tinker is one of the SAKs I pocket-carry the most. I don't think it's as bulky as the Internet says. I wish Victorinox still produced the Deluxe Climber, with the corkscrew instead of the Philips screwdriver. I've used those pliers countless times and they're great. If you like to combine SAKs, the Deluxe Tinker and the Ranger are the closest to the Swisschamp.
I have had a Swiss Army knife since the late 90s but only got a Deluxe Tinker a couple of years ago. It has quickly become a favorite and I carry it frequently. I keep it in my front pocket but it rides next to my wallet and that keeps it in a vertical orientation - makes it easy to carry!
My personal favorite when it comes to Swiss army pocket knives. I’ve used and abused mine and it’s working like a champ and only ever needs the occasional tune up
This was my very first multitool that I got just about one year ago and since then I've use just about every single tool on it. It comes in handy almost every day. Would highly recommend it.
Nice video again! Great toolset on the Deluxe Tinker. My first SAK was a Fieldmaster and occasionally I regret not getting the Deluxe Tinker instead as I'd get more day-to-day use out of the pliers than the saw. (I have a Workchamp, so know how good those pliers are.) Solved the pliers problem by picking up some Knipex ones, which means I can hold something in the pliers in my left hand whilst working on it with the Fieldmaster in my right. 😊
I really like the Deluxe Tinker. Picked one up recently. It hasn’t replaced my Swisschamp (no fish scaler!) but still a great SAK! Great video as always!!!
As my edc goes, i value lightness & carryability over everything else. "The best tool is the one you have with you." Something along those lines. I usually carry three to four items: 1) knife 2) somekind of multitool 3) flashlight 4) sumthin else. And all of these i want them to be light as feathers, or else im not gonna bother keeping them on. My blade is allways switchblade. Either Delica 4, Tasman salt 2 or my new favourite the Bugout. All of these are under 70 grams and two of these are under 60g. And all blades, alot more tough than any of us need on daily use, despite whatever people might say... I just switched from leatherman skeletool (149g) to Super Tinker (82g). Like it more but im still wanting sumthin little lighter, maybe the og tinker which is 20g lighter. During summer i dont carry flashlight cause its so bright all the time. I only carry my Fenix eo3r v2 keyring light (~30g). On every other seasons i usually carry Olight baton 3 pro (102g) or baton 4 mini (~53g). So depending on season i have at max 250g and at lightest 187g extra on me. And three usable tools! I never can understand somebody who everyday carries sumthin like wave and 150g switchblade and secondary blade and two flashlights, prytool, knipex pliers and all that stuff.
Another one that's on my to get list. I think this would be an excellent urban EDC knife ( atm my Explorer is my go to for that when for some reason I don't want to carry my Champ ). I think whether or not it's a pocket carry would depend on what you're wearing. If you're wearing a jacket / coat with deep pockets, I think it should be fine. But it's not what I'd call ideal for trouser / jeans carry tbh. Mind you, Victorinox do some very nice belt pouches, so that could solve things. Or as you say, keep it in your rucksack / bag.
I much prefer the 3 layer Super Tinker - 1.4703 - with the same toolset as the Deluxe Tinker except for the pliers, which I always thought to be a somewhat useless thumb operated tool on a pocket knife.
The pliers on my Deluxe Tinker doesn't look like yours. The marks on the tang of the main blade are also different. I bought my Deluxe Tinker in the 1990s, but used a black Climber every day from 1990s until 2016, when I sent it in for warranty repair.
I don’t like the tinker series too much although I do have the super tinker and it’s really good, the explorer is my favourite sak mines in yellow with the plus scales carry it most days

That would be cool!
This is the Swiss Army Knife for musicians, the wire-cutter in the pliers is perfect for cutting guitar strings B)
Awesome thanks for watching
Very cool! Slippy, no need to apologize for another Victorinox video! I say keep them coming!
More to come!
This is my fishing carry and I absolutely love it!
Glad you enjoy it!

Gifted one of those to a good friend, they do love using it!

Wanted a model with the pliers and got the handyman. Its a big model, 6 layers and a handful to edc. This deluxe tinker is much more manageable.
I keep a Handyman in my work bag and keep a Deluxe Tinker on my belt. Maybe a bit overkill but I love both models!
Thanks for the information brother 🤘🏻

Very nice!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Great video Slippy. I do like the idea of having the Deluxe in my work bag.
Get one 😂
@@SlipjointSawyerDamit Slippy!! 😂
I don't have one of those yet, but I want to get one before I go fishing this year. 👍Great video, buddy!
You should!
Very cool one! I am almost tempted to save up for one of these. Another awesome video brother!
You should!

Awesome lightweight EDC options 🤘🏻😎
Another fantastic SAK…. Definitely pouch or pack/bag carry.
Fantastic review Slippy, cheers 😎🙏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review 👏 😊

Just bought one of these, nice timing!
Hope you enjoy it!
£40 uk at the min - great sak for cycling and fishing ✌️
It sure is!
Solid review as usual. Original Tinker for me, a compromise but that's life 🧬 fits nicely in MKM 🧲 sheath. Thanks 🕊️
Good choice!
Excellent!
Good stuff as always Slippy👊🏻
Thanks again!

Im choosing between this one and super tinker without deluxe. This sadly costs 30$ more having just extra pliers that i like very much.
Good choice!

how does this compare in size in the hand with the fisherman?
Actually I take that back- mine are super tinkers not deluxe

Do you think victorinox should use something like s30v or magna cut for the main cutting blades?
That would be great
IMO you can't call yourself a knife nut without a SAK and if you're into SAKs you have to have at least one tinker. Cool vid.
Thanks for watching Robert
I have a Deluxe Climber.
Awesome
You forget the smaller tools
Always do 😂
А я в Москве и у меня хансман👍👍👍👍👍+книпекс собра
Awesome I love the huntsman
If I’m not mistaken, this knife would not be legal in the communist state of Kalifornia.
How so? 👀
@@SlipjointSawyer the blade is over 2 inches long.
