    Great video! S GEAR is very underrated. So cheap for the quality you get.

    Nicely done. Very clear, step-by-step, each step explained in detail, and purpose, appropriately paced.

    thanks Paul for this, I tried and bought this because of your previous video and never looked back. This IS a fantastic amp sim and most importantly it feels great (which I never understood really but trying a bunch of amp sims now I know). I have a Studio Rats American Clean in my preset now :) Ps and dont forget to switch off the bypass button ;)

      Yep, when I tell a lot of people S-Gear feels different than most other amp sims and much closer to a real amp, many ppl don't get it. It becomes obvious when you try it! :)

    Paul, this was great!! I didn't know it but my recording input was way too low, following along on this video made me see that my signal was too weak, and when I tweeked it up it made all the difference to a rich full sound, achieving exactly your tone on this video. I'm a happy bunny now, as my Les Paul now sounds like a Les Paul. Good on yer Paul you've been an inspiration.

    I found it helpful that you walked us through your process of building a tone. The Marshall (Stealer) sim gets great cleans too!

    Hi , Those tones are awsome, some of the best clean iv'e heard especially amp sims. Could I get a good finger picking tone like Chet Atkins style of this unit hope so . Thanks a lot great demo cheers Les.

    Is your guitar plugged directly into the interface? I seem to get pretty hot signals with my Behringer UMC202 HD even with the gain turned all the way down. Can't really make it sound as the way I intend to with my HH jazzmaster

    • @lucianoluggren
      @lucianoluggren 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make shure you have inst switch on in your behringer. Apart from this, I see that your Behringer interface has a pad button, I don't know if it works on the 1/4 jack input but maybe it will serve to attenuate the input signal of your guitar if that is your biggest problem. But if you can change that interface to an Audient, ID4 for example, it seems like a better option to me. These provide a good instrument input with the proper impedance for a guitar. You can also add a good active direct box to your setup, but they cost more than those entry-level interfaces.

    Paul, that was so insightful and really demonstrated the deep dive that can be taken in tweaking and creating your own tones. I'd love to see your take on some classic rock crunch tones. I'd sign up for tutorials!!!! Thank you....

    I think you are right Paul. This is one of the best sim amps (I like Neural DSP Cory Wong too). Although the sounds and effects are great, they are a little bit limited too. But these clean sounds are amazingly good.

    Thanx for the insightful look 👀 at this product Paul. Very lush clean sounds. In my ears it was a good old AC 30 sound combined with an old echoplex.. I still use 2 echoplex’s the first is my pre amp as it’s the best pre amp for guitars. Love the gold top it is crying out for a Bigsby mate lol

    • @TheStudioRats
      @TheStudioRats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ooh I love a Bigsby!! You’ve got 2 echoplex’s!!

      @@TheStudioRats Hi Paul When I turn up at sessions people often ask what do the old shoe boxes do lol. The Pre amps in the echoplex is that magic sauce. They both belonged to the late great John Martin. Probably not your cup of tea as a guitar player, but he Wass the master of delay and alternative tuning.

    wow some great sounds !!! I'm totally new to all of this even playing guitars and a thought popped into my head... wonder if going the "sim" route as apposed to a traditional amp would eliminate the "60 cycle hum" for single coil pickups ???

    Great video Paul. You've obviously spent some s-gear tweaking time to get great tone. I see you keep your input signal around 50%. I'll have to try that instead of 75%. It's kind of tough to keep my levels down because I'm using a gen 1 focusrite box and even with the pad button in, it's still a pretty hot signal. Do you think I should upgrade this interface box? Thx.

    • @TheStudioRats
      @TheStudioRats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Fred, I think you’ll notice a tiny difference upgrading. You should however get better latency.

    Great video , my friend downloaded the trial after hearing a demo but when he plays guitar with the plugin,
    you hear half of a clean tone with some of the plugin's dirt mixed with it and it also has a weird out of phase tone so I'm wondering what is the problem because I'd like to get one and he also does . Gotta point out that he has no issue with his other UAD pluging like Friedman and so on . He his using Protools with UAD interface.

  • @oinkooink
    @oinkooink ปีที่แล้ว

    Most my recordings with S-Gear (or any amp sim, I'm not picking on S-Gear) end up being (incredibly) way, WAY too muddy and low end tubby...yet nasty and shrill around 3khz. I'm on a standard Tele, neck position. I just don't get it.

    • @Astr-w6y
      @Astr-w6y 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      overloading the input could cause that.
