This software is far better than Neural DSP, etc. to my ears (more air, breadth, and natural feel). I will definitely be buying this.

I do the preamp trick also, but with my EHX Black Finger or the Ibanez "Nutube" TS (which has the a clean OD mix, so when I want just to color and give more "realistic" feel to the Yamaha THR10X or plugins I put it in clean boost mode, when I want more like a classical metal boost I use it halfway or more) or the combination of both, usually.
Just for the preamp trick I see that the Black Finger perfect for this. This tube preamp & compressor can change drastically the feel if you want without change the tones in a way that's sometimes freak me out lol, one of the best EHX pedals ever, if not the best (but need to change the stock tubes, so many people blame that they're too much noisy, I use one AMT 12ax7WS with a JJ with low noise and it's perfect).
