I'm already a convert to S-gear and it happened when I wasn't even looking for a new amp sim! I was just investigating how the various amp sims handles aliasing so I downloaded all the free demos that I could to try them all out. S-gear was the clear winner in that regard but there was something about it which made playing guitar more fun than the other amps so I kept going back to it and after the end of the 2 week trial I missed it so much that I had to pick it up and I've been using it ever since. I can't explain why but it just made playing guitar more fun. If this had the same marketing push as the other brands then I think it would rule the world.
Thank you also Paul for your playing and dedication to S-Gear, I completely agree with you and how it reacts to different guitars. Let’s get the word out. Brilliant for sure. 🤘🤘🤓
Wow I've just downloaded the trial and it's literally the best amp plugin I've ever heard/played - fantastic (going to buy it now - $99 bargain!!). Many thanks for the intro to S-Gear.
I wasn't so impressed in my 3 day trial. Compared to Bias amp 2, I found S-gear not tweakable enough, the controls of EQ and sag had very little impact, I tried to tune out the mid pop attack out of strat clean solo tone and add more sparkle, basically trying to emulate Clapton tone on Wonderful Tonight, and I couldn't. I got BIAS AMP 2 to do that and much quicker. Basically I don't really see an advantage of s gear over Bias.
I just want to thank you for introducing me to S gear. I’ve tried several amp sims and S gear is perfect for my needs; easy to use and not a bunch of unnecessary stuff.. just great sounds out of the box. Thank you again!

You could say I am biased, but, and its a big BUT; Its the only digital modeller I play where I forget I'm not using a valve amp. You can A/B with a real amp and thisis spot on! Lots of overlap, the sound is very good but something always seems off to my ear, even in a mix. I stumbled onto this video a week ago, downloaded the app and I can't stop playing with it!!! WOW, this is the most realistic sound and feel I've found!!! I've been writing songs for a new release and had to take a timeout from that to play with this plugin. I believe I go for a heavier sound than you and have no trouble dialing up a great sound on several of the amps. I will be tracking all of my guitar parts with this awesome sounding plugin. This product is not getting nearly the amount of buzz that it deserves. I can't believe that any guitarist, regardless of style or genre, wouldn't FLIP over the possibilities here. Fantastic demo! I have been using my S-Gear amp modeling exclusively to record over the past year since I made the purchase (very fair price IMO). I'm a kid in a candy store! I'm excited with this new upgrade (FREE!!!).

Great video stellar playing. I was just wondering how cpu intensive this plugin is. Would it be possible to run multiple instances of this plugin on multiple guitars in real time with imperceivable latency. Also what audio interface are you using?
Forgive my ignorance on this topic, this form of modelling is all new to me, and I am trying to understand one aspect of it. Is this plugin "guitar agnostic" like some other modellers, where the sound coming off the guitar is not a factor, just the notes, intonation, etc? So if I have a Scuff amp set up, and plug in a single coil strat and then a humbucker, would I get the same sound from the amp modelling? So in other words, is this amp modelling like an actual amp processing the guitar sound coming off the guitar, or is it consistent in sound no matter what guitar you plug in (tone and volume knobs notwithstanding)?
I got a Tonex pedal yesterday and I hate it. I'm also not pleased with Amplitube or Guitar Rig at all. Last night, I remembered using a previous version of S-Gear a few years ago, so I downloaded it again and holy cats... it sounds WAY better than all the others. And now I have a $399 Tonex pedal to get rid of. I have a PRS Silver Sky (John Mayer model) guitar and the other plugins and the Tonex just suck the life right out of it. It completely loses its strat-like chime. S-Gear 3 gave that back to me. It's still not quite like playing through a real Fender Princeton Reverb, for example, but it is hands-down the best amp sim plugin I've ever heard.
@@ConstantinoOfficial Paul going through honeymoon phase with the new plugin. It too shall pass. There is no way S-Gear is better than Tone King Imperial for cleans and breakup. Neural really championed big time with that one.
I know it's been a while but, FWIW, the Stealer is S-Gear's Marshall inspired amp so it would not be close to the SLO or Cali. The SLO inspired amp in S-Gear is the Jackal. I own the Neural SLO and I prefer the S-Gear version generally although the Neural is probably closer to the real amp. The Jackal is easier to tweak and sounds fantastic. As for the Cali, the "equivalent" in S-Gear would be the Wayfarer with at least the Lead switch turned on. More gain if you switch on the I/II switch it's linked to as well. With the Lead and I/II switches off, the Wayfarer is much more Fender-like and can emulate many clean Fender flavors.
100% Agree. But there’s room for another great one. I like having both! Mercuriall Audio also makes 3 great plugins, as well…a Marshall, a Bogner Extacy, and a Mesa Boogie Triaxis. All great.
I want to pull the lever on S-Gear but am just loving the Tone King from Neural. More presets in SG, but with that comes more tyranny of choice, which is another reason I'm liking the TK.
The best??? Well, more than 10 better choices come to my mind immediately. I demoed and was so disappointed , sound, playability, feel, presets, effects - everything less than mediocre, I can't understand the hype, but everyone should us whatever he likes, of course. It's like someone is trying to sell you a Mercedes and what you get is just an Opel.
Unfortunately for me, I paid for this software. It was not impressive to me at all. neural DSP blows the doors off this weak software. The reverb and delay sounds like a 1990 software. This crap is two steps above guitar rig lol. And that's not a compliment. Save your money and get neural DSP software for a real amp feel and sound. 👎

I’m using an Apollo I don’t notice the latency at all. It’s not cpu intensive unlike the Neural plugs.
@@TheStudioRats thanks for the info keep doing what ur doing peace
It's like a real amp -- so different guitars will sound different.
Hey Paul, what audio interface are you using with S-Gear? Monitors? Thanks in advance.
Hi cat im using a UA Apollo, my monitors are Kii three
How are you able to get such good tones from it? I've tried it and so money others and they always sound different for me
Free update for registered users?
yes from 2.9, just download and install, keeps your old presets etc
Paul, please, does the Drive Thru eliminate the need for a hiZ guitar signal to have a pre-amp?
Edit: Is Drive thru a pre amp?
Hi Matt, no it doesn’t a hiZ input is something that is determined by your interface
OK. Wishful thinking. Great demo mate, thanks.
Question, are some of of those dirt sounds considered Distortion or Overdrive?
Yes definitely
I want a tone that's distorted and creamy with bite but with no mud or low mid build up. Can this amp sim do it?
If you’re using the stock patches I completely agree, download our free Matchless Independence tone and then see how you feel.
Do you use any compression plugin with s gear?
I do not. But it’s a good idea
did he rework also the amps algos?
Can the S gear 3.0 be used with a midi commander foot switch ?
Hi Paul
You like this better than the dsp imperial , even for clean and edge of breakup?
Yes I honestly do.
@@TheStudioRats I like an honest man!
@@ConstantinoOfficial Paul going through honeymoon phase with the new plugin. It too shall pass. There is no way S-Gear is better than Tone King Imperial for cleans and breakup. Neural really championed big time with that one.
@@pinkanimals honestly i trialed the imperial and for me also the s-gear feels and sounds better then tk Imperial
The overloud rig player tone king pack is better sounding than the neural DSP tone king in my opinion
This VS tonex?
I think you broke the Internet cant get through to the Scuffhamamp site!!!
One OD pedal after years of hibernation. Not what I would call an update.
How does the Stealer compare with the Neural DSP Cali & the SLO?
WOW. #addtocart
The sound is distant which i dont like. Neural dsp just better. Or NAM its free for f sake.
😳
The best Amp sim is the Neural DSP.
Still zero metal tones with S-Gear. Ridiculous.
edge of breakup overrated I want crystal clean and crushing distortion
