- Alexander Vladimirovich "Sasha" Povetkin is a Russian professional boxer who held the WBA (Regular) heavyweight title from 2011 to 2013. As an amateur he won a gold medal in the super-heavyweight division at the 2004 Olympics, gold at the 2003 World Championships, and consecutive gold at the 2002 and 2004 European Championships.

AJ's biggest challenge?.... Learning how to box and throw combinations... The praise AJ gets for beating Klitscho?...Cruiserweight Haye went 12 rounds with Wlad....Who did Wlad beat? Old Mercer, Old Botha, Old Ruiz, Cruiserweight Haye.... when Wlad's opponent could actually throw a punch and Wlad didn't have a big height and weight advantage, he lost.......The way people talk about AJ, he should have beaten up Parker in first three rounds... I think AJ is over-rated...Yeah, he won the Olympic Gold, but so did Audley Harrison...Harrison?...Quite possibly the worst HW of all time...Fury will beat AJ convincingly
I disagree, Povetkin has some serious knockout power, if he goes in as AJ the knockout artist the fight is 50/50. He needs to what he did to Parker, jab and move, play it safe and box the Russians head off, beat him on points.

People compare him to Tyson in style and yet doesn't realised this is the only style a short heavyweight can do to survive against the giants they are facing. The only solution is baiting and entering the pocket with an overhand hook. He will struggle against the reach and the back footed stance of AJ, like he did agaisnt Klishtko, and sadly he lost some speed from his prime, and that style is build around reaction.
