Big respect to Alexander Povetkin, though I'm AJ fan, I salute Povetkin for his respect on AJ... Another true legend and boxing icon of heavy weight boxing ..
In my dorm room in school, binge-watching all of AJ's fights, in awe of his achievements and thanking the big man upstairs for blessing the world with such fine male specimen. Win or lose, you're the bomb mate.
This is the reason why you lost to Andy, just listen to the commentator at 37:42 . with Andy, you did completely opposite, when you knocked Andy down, you try to rush things.
The Ring Magazine put Larry Homes at number 5 best heavyweight of all time, because he got back up from been knocked down and won against Earnie Shavers and Ronaldo Snipes. That shows heart and determination. Do you know who else got back up and won against adversity? Joshua against Klitschko. He has the talent and will be champion again.
This just goes to show you AJs underrated durability, gets shaken, goes down but never been knocked out, always gets back up and comes back, with that power and dominant athleticism over his opps from Brezeale to Takam, Parker, Whyte, Klitschko, Povetkin and Ruiz. Underrated tough beast of a boxer. Imagine taking those punches, breaking your nose, getting hit flush by top heavyweights and getting back to win or rematching and outclassing speed with technique. Pure scholar of the sweet science AJ. And people wonder why he has majority of the belts and is an Olympic Gold Medalist because of his humble nature. Not flashy or talkative like Wilder or Fury. Quietly dominating the division. He's Tyson Fury's biggest test and Fury knows he's going to have to work on his power and timing to beat AJ but the Athleticism, power and durability would see AJ become unified 2 time World Champ. "No one has ever defeated Povetkin in this fashion and he's tougher than Fury" so do the maths Fury is also the perfect height to take AJs combos the same way he took it in sparring, he'll be hoping to not get KO'd again. AJ is way better than the one trick pony Wilder technically who he called out in this fight and ducked, he signed the contract, Wilder didn't and ended up talking and talking instead of putting pen to paper, avoiding to meet, making bogus offers, AJ's calm and controlled under pressure and his finish is lethal and calculated once he smells blood.
@Jardani Law you make it sound like he was outperformed from start to finish, before he got caught on the temple, he floored Ruiz and was making light work of him. It's an established fact that the patience to plan a calculated finish wasn't there unlike his other fights because he didn't really know Ruiz, or have any motivation to fight him(Ruiz literaly had nothing worth Joshua fighting him for, not a belt or any clout, besides he lost to Parker who AJ already beat) and he was a last minute replacement for the drugged up big mouth. So when you talk about performance Ruiz himself knows he's not on the same level rather he landed a lucky shot and capitalised on it, its the simple reason he couldn't defend the belts like AJ had done against more solid fighters. For example, you wouldn't match Ruiz and Klitschko. However, it's worth noting that with a bit more recovery rounds like he had against Klitschko, had the fight not been stopped the experience and stamina would have gotten the better of Ruiz, nevertheless AJ was not KO'd in that fight, the same thing would have happened had the ref waved off the Klitschko fight early.
Watching this fight after Povetkin KO of Dillian Whyte...There are several notable differences between AJ and Dillian. First of all, AJ was very disciplined in respecting Povetkin left hand by keeping his right well covering his side and chin. The other point I noticed is avoid getting into a brawl with a polished boxer and controlled him with the jab. Overall a well prepared and well executed game plan.

This shows what kind of man Povetkin is. Gave AJ a hard time and this guy only lost 2 AJ and Klitscko( a man that had 10 years wearing the belt). Wilder had 22 fights against guys ranked 492 and when he did 32 fights stil fighting guys ranked 192. AJ allready had 2or3 belts after 22 fights (against higher ranked opponents). I want to see AJ against Wilder.
Having one hand down can sometimes disrupt your opponent's concentration/focus, because he will not be able to predict which hand you're going to use. I like the way AJ fought Povetkin. Perhaps, he should use this fighting style and spirit against Ruiz🤔🤔🤔

Joshua has a damn good win resume. Povetkin, Klitschko, Whyte, Parker. If he can add Ruiz, it’d be a million times more impressive than both Wilder and Fury’s win resumes combined
Povetkin was a former world champion, one of the most underrated and one of the most avoided boxer in the last 2000's and early 2010's, just few people notice him as an elite boxer. Only Klitschko another elite boxer in 2009 (canceled because povetkin injury) and 2013 to finaly fought him. He has lost the speed and the chin he had 10 years ago but not the will, the determination, the IQ nor the power that made him where he is. True champion.
And AJ deserves a huge amount of respect for beating such champion.
Definitely one of Povetkin's best ever performances. Just made a mistake in the 7th round
AJ combination of 11 power punches in 10seconds.
Who in the world can survive that!
I love the respect between those two. Real sportsmanship!
A j .. you will get your belts back. INCHALLAH☝
AJ dug deep and found the range in this fight. He kept hitting the body of Povetkin. Once he blasted with that 1-2 it was a wrap
In retrospect, knowing more about Joshua's strengths and weaknesses, this is an amazing, patient and mature performance.
Who is here after aj vs ruiz 2
me
Will be here forever
Me
Me , I said me, I meant me
There needs to be a third fight
Povetkin is quiet and respectable type and so is AJ.
Two similar guys happened to met each other in the ring.
Was a great fight!
The sleeping tigers are the best! Dedication, Sacrifice, discipline in and out of the ring, easy going, kind to others, confident not arrogant, and gets the job done. The others are ALL MOUTH, *ALL THE TIME* AND OMG it would SUCK to be around that and it running its mouth all damn day like a chainsaw that won't shut off. LIke Fury running around now saying he's as good as Ali 😅😂😅🤣😅 NOT IN A MILLION LIVES FURY! 😅😆🤣
AJ will never get the credit he deserves for this win not even a dominant champ in klitschko could do this this Povetkin
This fight was fixed. How naive can you be. He even nods at Povetkin just before the "KO"
Klitschko did shut down Povetkin he never let him throw his famous hook and overhand right, Joshua was behind in the scorecards before the lucky punch
@R B Povetkin gave AJ sooooo much trouble and showed AJ's weakness meanwhile Klitschko defeated Povetkin in dominating fashion 119-104
@PhilB.Jones I knew you didn't like the guy but this is a new one. Next month wonder what will be the new nit pick narrative or theory.
Prime povetkin would ko joshua
This win looks even better after Povetkins win over Dillian.
Poor Brits comforting themselves with past fights to heal from the ass whooping their boy got from Povetkin.
It looked good anyway considering pevetkins only loss is to klitchko
For a fact AJ is the only fighter that can tell what it feels like to have so much pressure on your shoulders.. 90,000+ people,80,000,70,000.. dude is a pure Star
Except he DUCKS Fury!
AJ will come back from his defeat 💪
Like if you agree! 👍
Live Hacks man I hope so
Live Hacks BOMB SQUAD!!!!!
Yeh!I'm pretty sure of that☺
Hope so. So Wilder can delete the fraud bum
loretta hawley Oh shush Loretta, you probably like Deontay
*AJ Jabbing him to the body, completely destroyed Povetkin's stamina.*
Veil I think it was more about bringing him into range to land the big right on the chin.....either way this was a fantastic performance
@Heragoth well add dillan whyte to the list.
AJ you are my idol, I watch this match about 30 times, and when I get 18yr I will be just like you
Wow if AJ can get his mind right but thats with everybody ya know he got the tools
Just be like AJ in personality and Humility but be yourself and emulate good fighters of old age like Evander Holyfield,Bowe or Foreman

In my dorm room in school, binge-watching all of AJ's fights, in awe of his achievements and thanking the big man upstairs for blessing the world with such fine male specimen. Win or lose, you're the bomb mate.
@@arimiyauolubowale1261 I love him with the love of Christ :)
Makes AJ win even better after pov knocked out whyte it shows aj is a good boxer whyte just needs to brush up his defence and movement ✌🏾
I came here to rewatch how AJ used his ring IQ to stop Povetkin after seeing the way Povetkin KO Whyte
This is the reason why you lost to Andy, just listen to the commentator at 37:42 . with Andy, you did completely opposite, when you knocked Andy down, you try to rush things.
Must fighters do when they hurt he other fighter
The Ring Magazine put Larry Homes at number 5 best heavyweight of all time, because he got back up from been knocked down and won against Earnie Shavers and Ronaldo Snipes. That shows heart and determination. Do you know who else got back up and won against adversity? Joshua against Klitschko. He has the talent and will be champion again.
Arber Gega Ruiz got up and won against Joshua. Anything can happen in boxing.
Who is here after Whyte knockout Povetkin .......😂 😂 yeah probably in an alternate universe 😜.
try again
Povetkin is a brave fighter tho. Respect to Anthony Joshua. What a great fight. 👏
AJ is way better than the one trick pony Wilder technically who he called out in this fight and ducked, he signed the contract, Wilder didn't and ended up talking and talking instead of putting pen to paper, avoiding to meet, making bogus offers,
AJ's calm and controlled under pressure and his finish is lethal and calculated once he smells blood.
Was DESTROYING Ruiz before he got caught.. What were you watching?
Hyped for the rematch with Ruiz. Come on AJ!
This is how the sports is friendship and respect between the countries big up both of you.
Some idiots still don't realise that AJ is the boss after the 41 year old guy killed Whyte... Give this man his respect!
And people say Aj doesn't have a chin he took hooks and right from povetkin all night...
Only haters and clowns would say such!
Peter Yovo I’m a Joshua fan but when he was fighting Ruiz.
@@mxaliq5258 But the punch that rocked him wasn't to his chin but his temple. Or are you saying Chin and temple are the same?
@@mxaliq5258 are you stupid aha ruiz hit aj on the back off the head causing a concussion that's why he was all over the place he doesn't have a weak chin

AJ’s needs that Lennox Lewis jab. More consistent to set himself up. More conditioning
Agree
The champ is here. You have talent man god bless you👊🏽👍
Is this a hint of what is going to happen to Andy Ruiz? all the best AJ! ✌
You are correct
This shows what kind of man Povetkin is. Gave AJ a hard time and this guy only lost 2 AJ and Klitscko( a man that had 10 years wearing the belt). Wilder had 22 fights against guys ranked 492 and when he did 32 fights stil fighting guys ranked 192. AJ allready had 2or3 belts after 22 fights (against higher ranked opponents). I want to see AJ against Wilder.
Enjoy yourself you deserve it,haterz will continue to hate but keep going strong.
Having one hand down can sometimes disrupt your opponent's concentration/focus, because he will not be able to predict which hand you're going to use. I like the way AJ fought Povetkin. Perhaps, he should use this fighting style and spirit against Ruiz🤔🤔🤔
Amen ☝️
lack of respect cost him Ruiz fight, he took it for granted and he never feared him.. he didnt have his clips. If he had fought Ortiz, he wud have been more serious

This year, 2020, in the age of 41 povetkin still show his skills even though with less speed, stamina, and power.
AJs a beast povetkin is a serious operator the way Joshua finished him is insane. Come on AJ get that undisputed 🇬🇧.
AJ really need to improve his defence. His head is so stiff!!

One things about Aj's trainer, very calm even after a win over a dangerous fighter, very calm all throughout the celebration in just can't stop loving such a humble, calm and lovely trainer bringing Aj through the right path God bless him.
Dillian Whyte thought it was simple, when AJ won Povetkin.
Watching this i dont know why dillian underestimated him.. even at 40yrs old
Not being an asshole, but you should say beat or defeated. Not "AJ won Povetkin."
