Well done vid...I have the G2 Throttle Tamer on my BETA 200 RR and I'm extremely happy with the response. My question of the day was your thoughts on the Protaper CRHI bars...I'm 6'0" riding tight northeast single track and find it difficult standing, do you think based on yoiur experience wit the bars higher then OEM it's worth the upgrade?

I believe protaper does make higher bars. I am certainly not disappointed in the upgrade myself. I found the risers and bars made the bike much more comfortable to ride. If your running stock bars you will like the upgrade for sure.

so all the cables and lines on the handlebars are long enough to accomadate this without any excess tension?

    • @bigair0176
      @bigair0176  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes. I haven’t changed a thing other then the mods in this vid. There is enough slack in the harness to make it work. Love the setup. Works well.

Well shot video, with good explanations and hints for the DIY viewers.
So obviously, you drop your bike a lot less than I do. My Barkbusters are pretty busted up, not straight any more, and have a lot of ADV “patina” on them. I would be concerned about attaching them to the triple clamp like that, given how I ride. (Not very well). Your setup looks really nice for sumo.
I am looking for a solution to the throttle being snatchy, and I would like to know if the throttle tamer made that better.
Finally, was the .75” enough to make a big difference when standing on the pegs? I feel quite leaned over on the stock setup.
    Thanks from Kelowna!

David Clark the triple clamp will actually be stronger. The throttle seemed a lot smoother to me. I felt like it was maybe a tiny bit more responsive because of the metal cam on the throttle. As for feel leaning it over. I actually feel more confident. It’s certainly a different but better feeling then my old bars. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!

Nice video - Do you know where I can buy the throttle tube insert that you happen to have? I am running into the same problem where my throttle tube is too long and the Zeta hand guards that I am installing did not come with the insert. Thanks.

So depending where you are but looks like acerbis and tusk make inserts. I’m sure any motorcycle dealer, Fort nine and other online places sell them. I would try your local dealer First. They look to be under 20$ most places.

Did you find an insert for this setup? I'm about to order all of this stuff, but I don't want to run into any snags when it comes time to install.

I'm going to be changing the bars on my WR250R very soon. Which levers are those?

They are just some Cnc aluminum leavers I got off amazon. They are the three finger wide ones. I love em. Very inexpensive.

They are just a Cnc aluminum ones from Amazon. There are a ton of companies that make em. Reasonably priced and seem to work great!

Is there an improvement when standing up? I am 6.2 with a 32-inch inseam and I find the stock WR setup cramped, especially when riding up hills.

I found in the seated position I didn’t have to slouch a lot. I already had a CR high bend bars from the ones I replaced. The pro taper is certainly a nicer bar for sure. The riser makes the bars higher by like 3/4inch. I’m only 5,8 with 32 inch inseam. I haven’t taken them off-road yet and tested standing up but I’m sure the risers of 3/4 inch taller is a little nicer. Now having said that the cables and wires wouldn’t be able to handle much more extension without pulling the tank off and trying to find extra length on cables and wires.

I'm about to do this tomorrow, I bought t the oversized risers then realized the hardware won't let me tighten from underneath so I'm gonna go this way even tho I think the 3/4 in rise makes it weaker. How's it been so far?

I love it. It has a more ergonomic feeling to it. I found I sat up right which took pressure off shoulders and arms. Glad I did it. Also doesn’t feel so claustrophobic. Sounds funny but it feels so much more open.
