    Thank so muuuuch, I was able to fix my daughter' Ipad!!! (she cracked the screen after only 2 months of buying it last year for xmas). I came across your video, you explained it so well and looked so easy that I went ahead and ordered a kit on Amazon for $25.50 and YAY!!! the Ipad works perfectly. Apple was charging me $200+, so I was able to save a lot, thanks!!! :-)......Usually people think that this kind of things (fixing electronics for example) are "a man thing", but I can reassure you, that it is not. :-)

      @Tonberry lol nop I did not, but not sure why people get surprised when I mention I did this myself...Dont take it literally; its not how I think, is just things I have heard from other people.... 🙂nowadays we can do anything we put our minds to!!!! I know this for sure! 🙂

    Thanks man, great video. Warning to those who start the grueling process of taking the old screen off - wear gloves like this guy. The small bits of glass cut. But anyway, this guys video is legit. I successfully changed the screen!

    Here is recommendation for You. First open the iPad with the metal tool only to get between the top glass and the frame. After just you plastic, this will prevent to cut something in mistake. Second You can put little bit alcohol between the frame and the top glass, this will help to open the glue area very easy, just go to all 4 side, but this definitely will improve your repair technic and everything will go much smooth than You think...

    Huge mistake, he did not disconect the battery first before disconecting lcd. That will easily blown a diode, fuse, filter or cap

    Just followed these instructions to replace digitiser. I tried using superglue to adhere the button assembly to the new glass- don't do this. The old glue inhibited the cure of the superglue. I had to clean up and ended up using double sided tape. Definitely the way to go.

    We have 3 of these iPads for our family members th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . Great apple product and provides the necessary performance needed for a basic tablet. No one in our family requires an iPad Pro, so this iPad fits our needs well. I’ve never had complaints on my Apple purchases and this iPad follows suit. Def worth the money.

    My advice is to use the button that comes with the replacement screen! DO NOT try and take the old on off and re-attach. It's too fiddly, easy to mess up and just not worth the stress/bother, plus the video does not explain it enough. Simply learn to live without a fingerprint - just use the passcode! Otherwise you will end up with sticky fingers and potentially having to buy a new replacement screen.

    Great video!
    The little screws inside were too small for me to hold to get back in place. I solved that by sticking the head to cellophane tape then positioning the screw over the hole. Pushing the screwdriver tip through the tape was easy.
    Also, if you mix up screws, the screw holding the battery connection down is longer than the screws holding the connector plate down. Took me a while to figure that out.
    Great job, Jose!

    My ipads screen just has some weird colors and lines + the touch barely works. How can i know if the problem is just the touchscreen or the LCD inside? I accidentally dropped it but the outside screen is fine without any scratch. So which screen must i replace?

  • @jenniferfreedman6176
    @jenniferfreedman6176 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why have us remove the button from the motherboard at all?? I did and I think I may have broke the cable. Could have just removed it off the glass instead of unplugging it

    • @JoseMoralestech
      @JoseMoralestech  ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason is because it is stuck to the screen and if it is not removed, many people would break it.

    I’m beyond pissed rn man I don’t know why i used this exact video to fix my daughter’s iPad. You LITERALLY MESSED UP by not letting everyone know to disconnect the battery first before removing any CABLES! I found this video first and thought the knowledge was there and started the process but now I’m crap outta luck cos when I tried to turn on the iPad before slapping the digitizer back on it won’t even start up at all. Then I started watching other videos of ppl doing it and the FIRST THING they did was make sure the battery wasn’t connected before removing any cables.

  • @Mainstayjay
    @Mainstayjay 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I can now see why repair services near me ask for the amount that they do for Ipad screen repair. I have replaced Android phone and tablet digitizers but haven't worked on an Ipad before. Mine now needs screen repair and I searched repair prices. I was put off by the cost and looked into doing it myself but after watching a few videos I think that I will hire a professional after all. I have done other repairs myself and if cost was more of an issue I would give it a go but I now feel that the cost of repair by a professional is fair.

  • @marty5300
    @marty5300 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    what is the point of unplugging the battery to connect the digitizer? I've replaced several screens on 3rd and 4th gen ipads, and never did that, just made sure it was turned off. I haven't had any issues with them since then, just wondering what the reason is for that.

    • @xxoakparkxx
      @xxoakparkxx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's still a chance of a short that's why it rarely happens but just and extra safety step especially when working on a client's product

    • @MrTuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee
      @MrTuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you don't unplug the battery you could potentially short the motherboard, in the older models if you didn't unplug the battery you could fry the backlight circuit on the logic board, I'm not sure if it's still a risk with the newer ones but I wouldn't risk it.
      Personally I always unplug the battery before even removing any connector, it's a bit uncomfortable on this models, but I can work in peace.

    And there is why so many iPad screens I see repaired by other places lift, you didn't clean the frame. Sure it'll stay for a few weeks or months, but eventually that screen will lift and just be sitting on there, not adhered properly. The metal needs to be cleaned and primed with isopropyl alcohol or other primer for the new adhesive to really hold long-term.

      Thank you for watching and I take constructive commentary as learning to be better is always good

      @@JoseMoralestech That's refreshing, most people would get annoyed at my comment. But it's true I've been repairing iPads for ten years. I know it takes extra time to clean the frame properly but it stops your customers coming back with lifted screens. It's worth the extra time to avoid having to do jobs again!

    Thank you for the informative video guide. I will be attempting this repair on my iPad but don't have some of the tools you used. Can you provide affiliate links to the screwdriver, clamps and b9000 glue you have?
