    Thank so muuuuch, I was able to fix my daughter' Ipad!!! (she cracked the screen after only 2 months of buying it last year for xmas). I came across your video, you explained it so well and looked so easy that I went ahead and ordered a kit on Amazon for $25.50 and YAY!!! the Ipad works perfectly. Apple was charging me $200+, so I was able to save a lot, thanks!!! :-)......Usually people think that this kind of things (fixing electronics for example) are "a man thing", but I can reassure you, that it is not. :-)

      I'd trust my mom to fix an iPad more than I trust myself despite doing a fair few repairs on iPods, iPhones and iPads before

      @Tonberry lol nop I did not, but not sure why people get surprised when I mention I did this myself...Dont take it literally; its not how I think, is just things I have heard from other people.... 🙂nowadays we can do anything we put our minds to!!!! I know this for sure! 🙂

      @MKUltra Survivor i can definitely see where mariel is coming from. I do electronic and car repair as well as car detailing as a personal hobby and money saver and my family has some traditional views on what a woman should be doing, so some people dont approve.

    Thank you for this video. I followed your instructions step by step and I was able to achieve it. It was not an easy task because of the small screws and how delicate we have to be with everything. A good experience and now I recognize that the price that the technicians ask for replacing the screen is very fair.

    Here is recommendation for You. First open the iPad with the metal tool only to get between the top glass and the frame. After just you plastic, this will prevent to cut something in mistake. Second You can put little bit alcohol between the frame and the top glass, this will help to open the glue area very easy, just go to all 4 side, but this definitely will improve your repair technic and everything will go much smooth than You think...

    Thanks so much for this!!! I have been meaning to replace my iPad screen for a while and I realized I'm never going to go out and get it replaced so I figured why not do it myself for cheaper! I followed your guide and was able to successfully replace the screen! I did break the first replacement and had to buy another one, but 30 dollars more is better than hundreds!
    As you could probably tell, I am a bit heavy handed so I did also break the home button trying to get the rest of the glass from around it off, and I would love if you or anyone else could post advice for doing that if you see this, in case I ever do it again! Fingerprint recognition isn't too important for me on the iPad though so I'll settle for the replacement.
    Still, I feel so accomplished for successfully replacing the screen, thanks for teaching me and so many others how to do something so useful! 10/10, subscribed!

    what is the point of unplugging the battery to connect the digitizer? I've replaced several screens on 3rd and 4th gen ipads, and never did that, just made sure it was turned off. I haven't had any issues with them since then, just wondering what the reason is for that.

    • @xxoakparkxx

      There's still a chance of a short that's why it rarely happens but just and extra safety step especially when working on a client's product

    • @MrTuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee
      @MrTuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you don't unplug the battery you could potentially short the motherboard, in the older models if you didn't unplug the battery you could fry the backlight circuit on the logic board, I'm not sure if it's still a risk with the newer ones but I wouldn't risk it.
      Personally I always unplug the battery before even removing any connector, it's a bit uncomfortable on this models, but I can work in peace.

  • @Gmork-The-Nothing
    @Gmork-The-Nothing ปีที่แล้ว

    And there is why so many iPad screens I see repaired by other places lift, you didn't clean the frame. Sure it'll stay for a few weeks or months, but eventually that screen will lift and just be sitting on there, not adhered properly. The metal needs to be cleaned and primed with isopropyl alcohol or other primer for the new adhesive to really hold long-term.

      @Gmork-The-Nothing ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoseMoralestech That's refreshing, most people would get annoyed at my comment. But it's true I've been repairing iPads for ten years. I know it takes extra time to clean the frame properly but it stops your customers coming back with lifted screens. It's worth the extra time to avoid having to do jobs again!

    Great video!
    The little screws inside were too small for me to hold to get back in place. I solved that by sticking the head to cellophane tape then positioning the screw over the hole. Pushing the screwdriver tip through the tape was easy.
    Also, if you mix up screws, the screw holding the battery connection down is longer than the screws holding the connector plate down. Took me a while to figure that out.
    Great job, Jose!

    I can now see why repair services near me ask for the amount that they do for Ipad screen repair. I have replaced Android phone and tablet digitizers but haven't worked on an Ipad before. Mine now needs screen repair and I searched repair prices. I was put off by the cost and looked into doing it myself but after watching a few videos I think that I will hire a professional after all. I have done other repairs myself and if cost was more of an issue I would give it a go but I now feel that the cost of repair by a professional is fair.

    I like the heating pad.. My repair shop asked for $108 to fix it where the screen by itself costs about $24 for the screen.. I am gonna try to fix it by myself
