- In today video we are taking a look at how easy and simple it is to refill your own printers ink cartridge. A great way to start saving big bucks. We get for 47 refills with the 16 oz black ink bottle, meaning that each refill is only 0.27 cents including shipping , the ink, the gloves and syringe. $17, $21, $30 for a 15 year old printer per cartridge is criminal. They are pushing people for alternatives. Here is one. I gave this video one big enthusiastic thumbs up !
Thank you so much! I just bought the ink. I paid $15 for the syringes, black ink, and colors combined. The kit has 400 ml total of ink total (black, red, blue, and yellow combined). I have XL cartridges, and you said they can take up to 18ml of ink per refill. This means, even if we assume I have the largest capacity ink cartridges on the market, the pair would require 36 ml, meaning I will get at least 11 refills of both my color and black ink cartridges. This means I am paying at most $1.36 to refill both of my cartridges.
The cheapest replacement cartridges I could find were $46 for the pair. This means I am saving at least $44.64 every time I use your method. You don't even charge for this information... I don't know why more people don't do this.
Also: I don't know why this information would be useful because I'm not sure why you'd be watching this video if you didn't already have an ink cartridge. But if you buy remanufactured ink cartridges to start with, some already have the holes for you to inject more ink.
Yeah, you need 1 cartridge to start with, otherwise there's nothing to refill. And, my Canon cartriges counted how many times they emptied and konked out after too many times... so I had to watch my ink levels and make sure they never emptied. PS: you'll waste some of that ink! Especially as you're a beginner.

It should be illegal for them to charge so much for ink. Every manufacturer does it and it should come under price fixing. People end up just throwing a printer away and buying a new one when it runs out as its cheaper... Its such a scummy practise.
tell that to HP and their bs HP ink service that offers you free cartridges but when you cancel you can't finish them. scum of the earth

Super scummy, and one of the most unsustainable practices that capitalism encourages. To design things so that they need to soon be tossed and replaced just for the sake of cyclical consumption is called planned obsolescence. These companies don’t give a damn about us or the environment, their priority is to make a killing ($$$$$$).
@@alessandrosary1431 and Designer Obsolescence, in the case of perfectly good mobile phones that marketers have deemed for you, to be obsolete. iPhones are a classic for this. Even Samsung Android, after the upgraded software that we don't need, the new software overloads the older phone. So, we have to trot to the shop for a new phone. Sheeez.

I don't know why I haven't been doing this, my father refilled his ink cartridges, usually with good results. I counted all my old ink cartridges and found that I had spent nearly $600.00 over the last 5 years. Helpful video, thank you. That's four good videos out of Four, I believe that is a better average than any of the many channels that I watch.
P.S I don't mean to be pedantic but you kept saying millimeters(a measure of length) instead of milliliters(a measure of volume).
Buy color laser jet printer, much more cheaper.

Is there a refillable cartradge they make for older printers, i find them for newer ones but i need 240xxl black 241xxl Cl cant seem to find only the normal cartradges it sucks screw gun time i guess when i buy a new set.

OMG… It’s Not Millimeters (mm)!
It’s Millilitres! (mL) it’s right there on the side of the syringe! You might add, in the 30 min. resting time, place the print head in a saucer of warm water. This will soften/remove and dried ink on the bubblejet nozzles. Any suggestions as to what ink is compatible with Canon ink since you didn’t remove any remaining Canon ink.

Can I clean out or add sublimation ink in place so my printer can print sublimation paper to go with my cricut machine?? I bought a printer thinking it would work hooked up months later and it was past the return time and I really don't want to have to buy a whole new printer it unfortunately doesn't have sublimation cartridges I don't think. Unless they're universal

How was your printer now after trying this? The seller where I bought my canon printer doesn't allow me to do a refill for replaceable cartridges because it can damage the printer, but the cartridge cost too much 🤦 I wanna try this really.. 😔

Its a very nice & simple demo how to refill ink.. However I have question instead of drilling hole in case of black cartdrige, Can it be open & ink filled just like demonstrated in coloured cartdrige?

I just did the refills. But in my color cartridge, for some reason the cyan and blue ink won't print even though I refilled those also. Any idea why this may be happening? The red is printing from the same cartridge. And the black is working.
Hi...I just tried to refill inks on my CANON PIXMA ...the inks was XL nr 545... the color was low on ink according to printer and after refilling and placing back, it worked well. But the black one was empty according to printer...I took it out filled up and inserted back aaaand nothing ... that one is not working...the printer doesn't recognize it, it's not printing even I force it to print and even though the ink is coming out from the needles.... what is wrong?

11 years ago the manufacturers used to have a hole there already under the sticker and I used to refill without drilling but I guess they got greedy and I will have to buy a drill now 😊

What syringe, and the little bit on the front? (assuming the needle)
I have 27 gauge needles on hand along with 18 and 16 gauge but that's because I take care of small animals and then some farm animals. I would say anyting numbered higher than 18 would probably be good

Any ideas on what to do when my printer refuses to keep printing after it detects it "ran out of ink"? There's obviously ink in the cartridges, just filled em up. But the software is preventing further printing.
You should look up ways to reset the chip. With some cartridge types you can do it pretty easily, with others it's more difficult or even impossible.
can we just ink jet the ink directly on the sponge when the cap is opened?

how do i know before an ink chamber runs out? cause ink status always shows all 3 as same.. id like to refill before completely running out.so the cartridge won't get damage
You'll pretty much have to guess. Try and "gauge" how much ink your using and just refill every so often. It won't hurt nothing to keep refilling the cartridge.
How do i trick the canon ts3522 that the ink cartridge is new i have refilled mine ?
usually by resetting it , it can be usually be done by holding down the reset or stop button for 10-20 seconds. you can verify on the web or owners manual how to reset you're particular one.
