I have had this printer for years and always hate buying the ink because it is so expensive. Thought about the compatible cartridges, but never wanted to risk ruining the printer. When I came across your video, I decided to give it a try. My 220 larger ink tank was the first to empty after purchasing all the supplies. I did as you suggested, step-by-step. It worked like a charm. I really like the printer and it works as good today as it did when it was new. Now I'm smiling because replacing the ink won't require a king's ransom any more :-) Funny that you said the print quality may not be the same. I actually found that the print quality is better :-)
Thanks for the vid, Sal! Look online for your own products people, this man shouldn't have to do it for you, lolol. If you can type it into a comment, then type it into a search engine with the addition of the product you are looking for, easy peasy. Buying comparables isn't always cheaper or available for your model, so this is a good alternative.
Sal, I don't use my printer often, so I'm probably best staying with the older model Pixma that uses the PG-245 XLs? They're simple to refill and even though the printer nags me about low ink, it prints perfectly fine with no-name ink. I don't even have to bother with a resetter. I got my printer for free because someone threw it out rather than buy a new cartridge... lucky for me as I had an old refill kit and got it working that same evening. haha
Sal DiBlasi Sir, I saw your video and I like it. I have Canon MG 5570 Printer. I refilled same like u, but I load cartridge in printer that time dashboard show it empty.
Hi, my cartridges are original, but dont have the hole where to insert the needle. I forced/poked one and it made a big hole, causing constant dripping!! The hole must be sealed at all times. So, where can I get similar to yours: transparent, with a proper refill-hole..?

Hi Sal, I'm intrigued by your accent. Do all Boston people talk like you? To me it sounds like a fusion of New York and Irish, particularly the way you say "cartridge"! Thanks for your video.
my epson r280 just died right after I bought a bunch of ink bottles for the refillable cartridges I had been using in it. I just barely purchased an almost new canon ts6120 printer for $35. can I use any of the ink I just bought (for the epson) in this canon printer? all I print is shipping labels so black is really the only ink I use a lot of. and I am not to concerned about quality as long as the shipping labels barcodes I print are scannable by the USPS. all I print are shipping labels and invoices.
I've refill my canon cli-251 black ink cartridge with Epson ink over a dozen times, it shouldn't be a problem, as long as you don't use pigment ink in a dye based ink cartridge, or vise versa, it would clog your print head or make a mess inside your printer if you get it wrong. ill check for you and leave another comment.

Hi! Can we refill the startup ink cartridges that come with the printer when you first buy it??

Good tip. I was not aware how easy this is with the resetter tool. I think i have to try this out. Original ink is silly expensive here in Norway
It is expensive everywhere. I have been doing it for many years, use to to it with my HP printer before this one.

Thank you for this informative video. Mine was a little bit different but works great now. I had to clean the heads and now the copies are great!
Hey man, is it necessary to buy that reset tool
10 years since, still useful
Great tutorial, keep up the good work. Thank you 🎸

Hi, what is the best ink for its printer Canon pixma mg6821
Excellent - Thank you!
What about if I don't have a cartridge reseter.
Then buy one
Do you know what website or link to buy refillable cartridges and refill ink bottle? I'm using Canon MG6821. Thanks
can i use this resetter for pixma mg7720 ? Thanks
Does it work for ts 5070?
Can you use Air Brush ink, instead of Cannon ink?
Just wondering, they both look the same. Have anyone try it?
Exactly what I need. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. What if I don't have the original cartridge and have the off market cartridge?
Must use the Canon cartridge for the refill to work properly. The resetter will not work on many aftermarket cartridges.

I never knew I had an accent, thought that was everyone else.😜😃
Fantastic video. I have the very same MX885 model. I was about to purchase cartridges online and I came across your video. Monkey see, monkey do. 😂😂😂
mine doesn’t have a hole at the top
Thank you Sal!

Thank you so much. I use the same ink. Wowzers.
I try to look for the reseter? Can’t find it
Did you notice how old this video is?
Being that this video is 10 years old, do we still need to reset the new cartridges in 2024?
Can't seem to remove the ball that is inside the cartridge. Even with the tiny screw that came with my refill set, still no luck. Any suggestions??
Buy compatible inks, it's cheaper.
bro from where we can buy this reset tool
amzn.to/2y8QF1m
and what is the tool name
amzn.to/2y8QF1m
I HONESTLY DONT KNOW WHY THE INK SPILLED ALL OVER FROM THE SPONGE ONCE I REFILLED IT
to much ink
After watching calamity Jane here i think i'll just buy a replacement ink cartridge.
Thank you kindly
No problem
Ink 6 bottle order
Not worth it these days as the compatible inks are so cheap and not worth the trouble.
The "compatible" cartridges aren't always recognised by the printer.
refilling with a genuine Canon Ink is only costing me $2.20 for pigment black, and $2 dollars for each color I say it's worth it
time waste so slow he is showing
