I loved the Tommy Kaira cars in Gran Turismo and they were mad fast! I would love to see this car one day in real life. Who knows, maybe it will turn up at a Dutch car show? 🤞
I never did play Gran Turismo, Forza, etc... (heaps of Mario Kart though...) I hope you do get to see it. That we would see the same car half a world away would be amazing
A nice example but we the common people have also deep pockets, but sadly most because they have lots of holes inside, and with that you just loose everything what you put in. So the irony is, yes deep pockets but because of the holes in it, we cannot fill them up with money enough to afford a Tommy Kaira. Well that's how it is shuffling through life , but don't disperse, luckily we have the WasabiCars videos to experience little of something extraordinary in car scenery. So here we are, and thank you for The Myth, The Legend video Daniel👍

Everyone, thanks so much for watching. Do let me know your thoughts below. Oh, and are you following WasabiCars on Instagram? instagram.com/wasabicars_official/ Say, hey :)
I'm not a fan of the Fast and Furious movies either. I do have the first one on DVD. Got to see the second one in the theater for free and I still wanted my money back. In the U.S. the movies did create a lot of interest in the car tuning scene. This translated to a bunch of kids, that had parents with money, buying up the good cars and destroying them. Or as it seemed to be with one of my little brother's friends at the time; number of engines he had blown up was a bragging point. It didn't matter that he didn't know what he was doing and was just strapping NOS to it cranking the knob.
Same, I'm not an r34 fan and even less of fast and furious, i could never finish watching one, so as the godfather 😅 but i sure love Tommy Kaira, and man, that cluster looks sick! It's funny i forgot about the display in the middle that was designed by polyphony digital. It literally looks like the stuff in gran turismo. And damn, shame it's leaving Japan but i guess this is a good time to sell since it's trendy, i hope the new owner takes care of it like they did in Japan after all these years. I'm pretty sure they do, it's Europe after all, their inspections are very picky.
Tuning company named after its founders Yoshizaku(?) Tomita and K Kaira. It was formed in the mid eighties but had a different and longer name Tomita 'something' Koujou or something of the sort.
im not really into r34s, but its pretty cool :). the limitation of the speedo is interesting though, one would guess they would gladly take the advantage of a display that doesnt have a limited range like analog gauge does, haha.
All Japanese cars had the 180kph speedo limit. WRX's EVOs etc. It was part of the gentlemen's agreement I believe. Basically to keep the government happy. You can get aftermarket Nismo speedometers for nissan's that read to 260kph and 320kph
I've always despised Fast and Furious and their gaudy graphics/paint/wheel combinations. But there is 2 cars I do LOVE in F.F 3 - Tokyo Drift. Check out the 71 Monte Carlo drift car at the start, and the main Hero car, the 67 Mustang fastback which they put an RB26DETT into. Best car on FF ever!
Are you sure about the 180 kph? My wife's car (Legacy Blitzen BE5) has a TommyKaira dashboard (from a certain moment when I've bought repaired & instaled it 🤭), and it shows at least 230 kph. I didn't run it faster since a speed limiter was eliminated.
No, I'm not sure. I took the word of the guy who currently has the very car in his possession. I checked, double and triple checked what he was saying. He says the number doesn't go above 180, though the car surely does. In any case, I hear the car itself can achieve a speed over 300km/h
@@wasabicars weird... Maybe, after 1999 TK made a change to a speedometers. Toyota digital speedos don't show more than 180. But they're factory ones. Crown, Mark2, Soarer, etc.

R34, nice. V-spec, nice. Tommy kaira, noice. Top of the line RZ, im gone. That is way to much nice. Fantastic car.
