Even my friend who drives a bimmer 325 was amazed at the thing's capabilities. They knocked it out of the park with the fiesta and focus ST/ RS and now they're calling it quits.
One of my favourite builds that Cosworth got involved with is the 600+hp Subaru that they used to break the Isle Of Man lap record. I could only dream of owning a car like that. Looked, sounded, and performed phenomenally!!
Cosworth's development process reminds me of what GM did in developing the first successful mainline locomotive diesels: one cylinder test mules with switchable power assemblies. That was mainly to get the injection system and thermal design dialed in so it didn't have to thump along at essentially one low RPM like all other diesels of the day. GM ended up leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else building locomotive diesels.

Cosworth is something else. I think they're a fine example of how out-of-the-box thinking and some brilliant minds can accomplish more than just throwing money at a problem. And that's not to say that their competition was incompetent or anything. Nissan knows how to build awesome engines, and yet they still sought the wisdom of Cosworth. That (and all that other historical stuff) says a lot. I could only dream to be a minor insignificant worker at a company like Cosworth.

Other issue is Aston Martin Cosworth v12 is made to accomplish small series cars homologation an much less restrictive than standard homologation in every aspect including emissions. So this amazing i3 couldn't be homologated for mass production cars

The DFV was 3 liters, naturally aspirated, and reliably (for F1) produced 510hp. Over 50 years later, that's still insane.

Back in 2014 Nissan made a 1.5L 3 cylinder turbo that made 400hp, only weights 40kg too. I think it revved to 7500, so alot lower then the Cosworth.

Other issue is Aston Martin Cosworth v12 is made to accomplish small series cars homologation an much less restrictive than standard homologation in every aspect including emissions. So this amazing i3 couldn't be homologated for mass production cars
