“Then Pontiac went to hell right after that” that line made my eyes water a little. I really hope that GM would had brought Pontiac back. But even if they did bow I think it would be to late with electric vehicles. And I think that’s the saddest part.
If pontiac came back wed probably all be begging for them to return to hell, same thing with saturn. Both sad times😓
@@justinrydar4253 idk about that, I’d love a re-amp of the solstice or fiero, then of course the firebird can make a return, but the camaros being discontinued anyways. But like Cadillac they could take the corvette chassis to build their own version. The Cadillac was the XLR using a c6 chassis and their own exclusive engines.

@@justinrydar4253 that’s true. It is unfortunate, but I think their own version of a corvette(and I don’t care if it’s a c8 or an older model) would be sick.
Your recently enlisted joke is accurate and hilarious
Yes! I love that even civilians see it LOL
Everytime I go to the local annual airshow that takes place on an air force base I can't help but notice that 70% of the vehicles that are personal vehicles are chargers, challengers or Durangos.
I had an 88 nova. It was my first car. As a pure psycho that neglected everything except my trouser snake, you could not kill that car. I never changed the oil, never changed the brakes, never serviced anything, beat it to shit, ramped it over train tracks, and it kept going.
“Just like Jesus” took me straight to the floor laughing.
I like how James casually has a turbo on his desk lmao

I know this won't be seen by James. but when I was 23, I built a 1980 Rabbit with a blueprinted over boared to 2.3 L with a NASTY cam and turbo, Corrado g60 trans, Borla exhaust, Neuspeed upper and lower swaybars front and back, full roll cage, NSP coilovers, no back seats, no headliner, no dash besides a plank of wood for my CD player, and a ten inch sub in the back. It was my daily driver and it did 11.3 in the quarter. That's when my love for VW was born. I feel you dude.. in the least gay way possible.
In regards to the Pontiac GTO - As far as I am aware it is actually a rebrand of the Australian Holden Monaro (which is a successful reincarnation of the original 70's model Holden Monaro) The 'new' Monaro was considered a worthy replacement and is now reaching collectible status today with values rising steadily.
Those GTO’s have become a bit of a collector car as well. They’re a mid 2000’s Pontiac so they aren’t very good, but they’re somewhat affordable and that LS is capable of making reliable big boy power so people want them.
@@mattorey5816 it's a rebadged Holden and they are incredibly underappreciated because people think they are just Pontiacs. Amazing cars for the money, especially when censored to other Pontiacs of that time frame
@@Apathesis0 reliability wasn’t the issue but the quality of build materials especially interior trim was always a weak point. But they are criminally underrated performance vs cost.
@@mattorey5816 I find the interior build quality to be a lot better than a bunch of other cars from that time period, especially MOPAR. I want a Crossfire, but good lord those interiors are cheap. That said, the interior plastics could be tougher as well as the stitching that gets eaten by the sun.
@@Apathesis0 it’s basically just domestics in general from that time period. Imports from around the world were building much nicer interiors than any American company.
I heard “back to the show” more than ever this week
what a pleasant surprise. I'm so much into the "spring break" mentality that I forgot there was a donut video today
that being said I am still working on one last essay
The Dodge Challenger maintains the most effective retro look, even the Charger revived look was a bit off kilt but still great because it kept the same spirit!
That Donut logo on your desk is like the coolest thing ever. Please make it, I'll buy five of them.
Hearing James and Nolan on dirt 5 was a huge surprise it is lit go y’all
Bruh James looks like a FREAKING giant in that scirocco
ikr
Well considering OJ got caught in the bronco, the only next step would be to build an escape.😅
Man, how I missed that V-Tec scream...
Le Mans ‘everything you need to know’ please 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I love every time that Portugal is referred in Donut's videos about cars industry, because no one knows Portugal without being about Cristiano Ronaldo
Not everyone is American, and so knows where portugal is.
Lol my dad had a banana yellow Wagoneer many years ago. I hope he's got pictures somewhere. I was just talking to my mom about it not too long ago and she said that he told her he bought it as a joke and was going to sell it shortly after he acquired it, but *he kept it for quite a while tbh.*
I can still remember riding around in it.
You guys need to address how they want to change the laws so we can’t modify our cars! There is a petition against it!
Yes
Hoping donut speaks up 🗣
I would love to see a Wheelhouse episode about the EPA debacle and how SEMA is helping defending ourselves against EPA for the right to modify our cars. I would love to see what Nolan thinks about this topic, and talk about something that is a actually an issue for us car enthusiasts.
They talked about it already on Wheel House. It was in India. I haven't heard about it in the US. There are already laws against certain mods in North America, so I'm not sure what you mean.
@@JS-hw8ve yeah they want to begin banning not just some mods but all mods. You gotta pay attention to the news. That’s why donut should speak up I already sign the online petition that sents it to my states rep. To let them know we don’t want that.
17:15 Me hearing the background music... "Did a Savage Garage video on autoplay just started in another tab?"
You had me at POP UP UP AND DOWN HEADLIGHTS
I swear I'm the only person who likes the newer GTO. The 05-06 came with the 6.0L LS2 and made 400hp. They were designed with a supercharger in mind and have predrilled holes where a Procharger sits with no additional brackets needed. That's badass imo.
Challenger is awesome and absolutely dominates the retro refresh era, Charger really missed the mark but is still awesome.
"1992 on it's sat in the seventh layer of hell feeling like it had to poop then every time it went to poop no poop came out it was just farts they still had the wipe a bunch and they had a rash". Omg I'm dying 😭😭😂😂

The effort for this comment is incredible
That is amazing
I want to see James race Nolan in go karts. I know you do to.
I think they went Karting in a video a while ago but I can’t recall which one
yeah, it's been done. The old Donut crew had a race. Nolan won.
It feels so great to watch James 2 days in a row
I never had one but I loved the revived GTOs for one simple reason: they were only available with V8s.
On the Dodge Challenger and Charger part, I thought to myself that they brought hell to the overworld which gave us the Hellcat twins and the Demon.
Just a random thought that popped:
A parallel dimension where all concept cars were put into production
Yoo
Chrysler would be on bently level if they had done this
The challenger came back from hell. But it brought the screams of hell back with it, music to our ears 👂🎶
The reboot GTO is very underrated and I love it.
Thank for the up to speed again james 😘
Lmao I love how he throws shade at people in the military when it comes to the Dodge Challenger 😆 I swear everyone and their mom has one on base.
So true bro, had two mustangs before I came in, haven’t even thought of buying any muscle car since I realized base parking looks like a Dodge and Ford sales lot.
Some of my best friends are veterans and I have several relatives who've been LEOs. 'Nuff respect to all first responders, enlisted, officers, vets, and healthcare workers. God bless y'all.
But, you couldn't give me a Dodge/Chrysler/FCA car. Nope! My parents had several and other friends and relatives have owned them too (including a couple of the aforementioned close friends who are vets). I've driven, and more importantly, repaired a few of them. No, no, no, no! Not spending my own money on one and probably won't accept one as a free gift either. You'd have to pay me to take one.
Dodge, verb: to avoid quickly.
