In this What the Elle in History video, we discuss the legend of King Arthur and how it affected history itself and historical kings. Images: Wikicommons.
Hi, yesterday I stumbled across your channel, and I just want to say how much I love your content. You have this amazing way of describing the history to audience, you speak with such a passion it just make anyone listen to you! Also, the tragic story of Anne makes me react in the same way as you did on your videos. What's more thanks to you, I made a "must read" list of books (yours included!)! Just want to say thank you for making this content :D
Great insights on the "legend" of King Arthur! I agree that he was likely the representation of multiple kings, but the fact that the medieval kings actively referenced his symbolism definitely show his impact!
Hi Elle. Great video. I would like to think of Arthur as Welsh because I'm biased being Welsh myself 🏴 Was So great to have met you on Saturday and I feel so honoured to have done. Ali x
I think the legendary Arthur was based on a Roman commander based in Wales who, when Constantine left the British Isles for Rome, was left in charge. Constantine later moved the capital to Byzantium, and those Roman troops left behind formed the Arthurian legend.

It seems like the actual history of that Island is much more complicated with far more people than Arthurian legends
I'm surprised you didn't mention Edward III who liked to imagine himself as the real life King Arthur of England and some believe he truly was😊😊😊
